- This is a quick and easy project that uses rectangle scraps. The fabulous Gayle Agostinelli shared the original idea that sparked my twist and take on a woven pocket. I’ve also shown and answered viewer questions at the end. Thank you for watching, be safe and happy creating.
You have to be the sweetest person
Your doing us all a big service by demonstrating how to do these creative crafts and your concerned that inking edges may bother some, that sewing may bother some, personally, if they dont like it, they dont need to watch. After all there's a volume button or fast forward button...good grief. Again your way to kind!!!
Myself, I enjoy watching you create. Every part of it. To me its actually relaxing and I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and creativity. So thank you and dont change a thing. Not even your kindness, because thats who you are.
You made me smile. Thank you, Sally. My nature is to be cynical and sarcastic, except when working with kids and crafting. SO this definitely brings out my gentler side. Honestly, I'm a constant work in progress 😊😁
Thank you so much Cori! These are all great ideas! You are the BEST!
And you are the sweetest! Thank you 💕
Hi Cori 👋! I’m glad to see/hear you again.
You say it's a long video, but for me it's excellent because you teach many things that are easy to remember and I wish it were longer. Also, you don't have to apologize when you say you make mistakes because no, they are not mistakes, they are practical lessons that we all need; so thank you for your teachings. I hope you’re next health procedure goes well. Stay safe ! Greetings from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
Thank you for your kind and thoughtful comments Marisol. Greetings to you from wet and dreary Washington!
You had me a vellum pockets. Cori, your instructions are so clear! Really enjoyed all of these ideas. (most especially the piano roll to tracing paper...)
Excellent! I'm happy to hear they will work for you. Thank you 💕
I just love your videos so thank you. I'm only a newbie so I just soak up all of your "how to's".
Thank you, Sheena and welcome! The makes in the scrapbuster series are super quick and super easy. You may enjoy making some of the projects shared there 😊
never seen or made this woven pocket before ....was such fun to make with you ...thank you for sharing.
Thank you for making along with me! I love having company when I craft 😊
Lots of great ideas, and yep, me too, can't wait for the mini journal tutorial!! 😊
Thank you, Carol. I'm working on the bits now and hope to have it out very soon!
Thank you for spending your precious time with us showing your creativity. I never worry about the length of the video as I always learn something from you.
I hope your next procedure goes well and you will finally be on the road to a full recovery ❤️🩹
I hope so too and thank you for the lovely, sweet comments 💕
Looking forward to watching your mini journal videos. Sorry to hear that you have to go through another surgery. Praying for good pain control and speedy recovery.
Thank you, Lisa 💕
Wow, this is a lot of nuggets of genius. Thank you!
I'm happy that it was helpful. Thank you, Peggy 😊

Thank you, Teresa. Looking forward to my next surgery next Friday!
The video is not too long because it's very interesting, filled with wonderful inspirations 😁. PS I'm a newcomer, so pleased I found you !!
Hello Bridget and welcome! I'm happy to have you join us and am pleased to hear you found the video inspiring 💕
Such cute ideas!❤
I made this, and I think its my favorite thing I’ve ever done! It isn’t very hard, but looks amazing when it’s done.
Thank you!
I am so glad to hear from you. I thought I had been here before, however I re-subscribed just in case. Sounds like you are in the middle of a mess…. I have been there and I am praying with you and for you.. Blessings and health and hugs.
Thank you very much for your kind thoughts and prayers. I appreciate them and you!
It’s not hard to ‘last this long’ when you pack so much fun information in!😊
You’re very kind! I continually tell myself to make shorter videos and then, we’ll, this 😂
thank you!!!! i needed a tall slim pocket. woooohooo
Glad I could help and isn't that just a fun pocket option? Huge "thank you" to our beloved GA ❤️
Like the way you alerted Gayles woven pocket idea! I just made some rectangle ones over on my channel out of greeting cards. I hadn't thought about making them the way that you have. Now I want to make more lol.
Lol! Making more, and building our finished items stash, is always a good thing!
Great idea. The possibilities are endless. :)
So. Many. Rectangles! What have I done to my poor brain? 😁
Beautiful paper weave. And I look forward to seeing you make the little journal.
Thank you and it's going to be a create-with-me format, so I hope you'll join me in making one!
@@CoriDahmen Oooh, sounds great. I better get my scrap heap organised! (Following your system btw, and it works really well!)
Cool gadgets. I like the miniatures.
Thank you and yep. Me too 😊
I lasted and loved it! ❤. Thanks
I really enjoy making that ladder pocket. I'm happy that you like it too 😊
We appreciate you, very much.
Thank you, Cora. I appreciate YOU!
Lots of wonderful info. Thank you 😊
I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it. Thank you, Linda 💕
Just found your video. Watched all the way to the end. It was full of great information. Thank you.
I talk to myself when I craft also. No worries...sometimes we need expert advise.😅😊..
Hope all goes well for you
LOL! "Expert advice"... Love that! 😁💕 Thank you, Ann.
YAY! A little bit of this and that sweet Cori! Yes I stayed till the end!! It was wicked awesome SOOOOOO many crafty tidbits to consider when creating!! ADORE your clusters/tiny notebook is BOOM!! Want to share cos we both have the same word 'determined' ......... yesterday I did my second LIVE on @thefirstlove with my faithful sistas(private group) and used your tip: draw a line w/ a pencil to help with stitching the pages to the spine of journal and mentioned you!! Anyhoo, LOL when you said you talk to yourself!🤣I do that ALL the time!! Good to know I'm not ALONE!! Oh and LOOK fwd to the mini bk tutorial - CANNOT wait! Will surely pray that the upcoming procedure is quick, painless and it's a speedy recovery! Blessings!
LOL! Good to have a sane sister that also talks to herself! Woo hoo and congratulations on your second LIVE! I've not yet been that brave. Maybe some day. If you do another LIVE and allow visitors, I'd love to visit/watch with you! Sue at Paper Inspirations does them, and I adore watching when I can, but she's in Australia and her clock is all whackado 😁 PLease feel free to email me at cdscrappin@aol.com or send me a message via messenger and I'd love to attend if I'm not working!
I just joined your channel and enjoyed this video. Thanks for showing us how to make these.
Thank you, Paulette and welcome! I hope you find ideas here that will work well for you!
@@CoriDahmen I already have. I've watched some of your videos before. I made a few things. You are awesome and I really appreciate you. I've only been making jj, journals for about 2 and a half years. I learned so much. I'm a senior on a budget so I use what I have.. some leftover from card making days and scrapbooking. Thank you.
Thank you for the demos. 😘
It was my pleasure 😊
Thanks Cori, happy to know you are doing better. Always enjoy your creativity.
Thank you, Judy ❤
God speed in your next procedure. 💙
Thank you, Sue 💕
Thanks for sharing, it was a Great video Cori! I love how you use all those little bits. 50:38
Thank you, Sheila 💕
I'll be sending you healing thoughts as you go into yet another procedure. And I appreciate you making the time to show us these pockets and give us all the information we need/want.
BTW I never note the time for your videos--I'm too busy trying not to 'squirrel' with the best of the rest! LOL Be safe and stay well!
LOL! Thank you and long live team squirrel! 💕
Such a cute idea
Thank you, Lori. I really like making that one😊
Thank you for sharing, your videos are always so informative. Love everything you do.
You are always too kind. Thank you, Nancy 😊
Oh thank you for the little goof up. Makes me feel less of a goof cause I do them more often than not.
Love the ladder pockets, takes good care of off cuts. Your thought processes are invaluable.
Joyful recovery.
You are very kind and I'm grateful that my goofs don't bother most. Thank you, Joyce!
This is such a cool idea! tfs
Thank you!
Great video Cori. I haven't had much time to just sit and watch videos, but I am sure glad I caught this one. 😊 hugs
HUgs to you, too, Jill and amen. I'm so behind on my videos. But, I've another procedure coming up so hopefully I can get caught up then 😊
Cori, I am praying for your next procedure to be successful and that you are feeling great! I love your videos. You are so creative and organized. ❤ Happy Crafting!
Thank you, Jan. I deeply appreciate your prayers and your kindness 💕
Thank you, Cori! I love the adaptation you have made to the square woven ladder pocket! Your mini and itty bitty pieces that you create are always delightful! It’s wonderful to hear that you are on the mend and my best wishes to you for a successful procedure still to come! You, too, take care and I look forward to catching up again soon! 😀💞
Thank you, Keryn. What is it about the mini bits, that just makes the heart happy? 😊
Great postage/mailing tip!
Being mindful of their requirements has saved me a dollar or two 😊
@@CoriDahmen 🙌🏻
I love this!
Thank you so much for sharing 💙
You’re very welcome and thank you 😊
As usual, your videos are a wealth of information. Wishing you well! Take care
Thank you, Carol and please know that I deeply appreciate the well wishes!

You’re welcome and thank you ❤
Great tutorial Cori, thank you
You’re welcome, Linda and thank you!
Love your variation on Gayle's woven pockets! The mini books are super cute too!
Thank you, Sue 💕
I love watching inking , these are great cori ! Thank you ❤
Lol! You’re love of watching inking is not the norm. I know several people get cranky about it. And, thank you 😊❤
Glad to see video from you! Lots of great ideas! Wishing you well on your continued healing!
Thank you, Cathy ❤️
Cori, I absolutely LOVE all of your ideas!!! You are so creative!!
Thank you, Debbie 😊
Another great and informative video Cori, thank you for sharing. I look forward to trying this. I'm still in the market for an ink box - postage to Ireland might be prohibative though .... (and unreliable)
Last check it's about $30 to send a smaller box to Ireland. While I understand the crazy raise in shipping rates, I don't much care for it. Thank you, Helen 💕
Great video Cori! Your woven piece looks awesome. I will continue to keep you in my prayers. Blessings and Hugs 🤗
Thank you, Susie. Your prayers are greatly appreciated ❤
Can’t wait to see the mini journal demo! Thank you Cori for being so thorough.
Thank you, Pam. The mini will be a craft-with-me type, where folks can make as we go, if they choose to 😊
Wonderful projects that I have added to my list of things to do! Thanks for sharing! Praying for your next procedure and a quick recovery.
Thank you, Susan. I really appreciate your kindness ❤
Lots of great information, Cori! Thank you so much!💙
You are very welcome and thank you!
Great ideas thanks Cori
You’re welcome, Amanda, and thank you! 😊
Great project
Thank you!
I love this pocket page and all your variations. Thanks Cori!
You’re welcome, Debbie and thank you! 😊
Love it. Great idea for multi pocket page and such a cute little book, xx
Thank you, Wendy. I sure love little journals. They are just happy little handfuls 😊
Love that mini journal Cori! Can't wait!🥰
I do so love making minis. And I have an idea about what paper/digi kit I'm going to use, though many different items will work. Thank you, Nancy and I'm glad you'll join in!
So happy to see your video!!! Great spin on the original!!
Thank you ❤
Happy to see you here. Anxious for the next one. You sure can put clusters together. Thanks!!!!
Lol. Thank you, Hope. I do so love making scrap clusters 😊
I love this little booklet. I have been saving non-current business cards for several months, thinking about making them into little booklets by scoring a 1/8” spine in the middle. Now I can see that that is definitely doable.
Absolutely it is doable and they will be delightful little booklets!
❤❤❤❤
Hello Cori, i'm glad you feeling step by step better. Your creations are so inspiring. Thank you for that.♥️✂️♥️
Thank you, Joosje. Your comments always make me happy ❤😊
Super tutorial as always my friend 😍
Thank you, Gaye ❤️
Love your videos, Cori! So much inspiration for using the never ending piles of scraps! Sorry to hear you are facing another surgery and hope all goes well. Take care and thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Phyllis. If this procedure does the trick, then I'm all for it!
Cool projects.....like this project because it's different for me...........😻
Thank you, Karin and I sure love mixing things up!~
Awesome video! So much sharing! Loved all of it. I am interested in learning your process for the small journal you showed at the end. As always, prayers for your healing. 💕🤗
Thank you, Deborah. I've had a few requests to do that one step-by-step, so I'll do it. Hoping to make that happen next weekend. Fingers are crossed!
Cori, another great video. Love the ladder pocket - definitely going to try it. I always appreciate the many examples you show. Helps my pea- sized brain to visualize it with different paper, different sizes, etc. Praying your upcoming procedure goes well. Take care dear girl!
You make me smile! Your brain is much grander than pea sized and you know, samples be fit everyone! Thank you and I’m happy to hear you like it 😊
Loving you woven ladder. I remember Gayle's video on it. She is an awesome and versatile journal artist and teacher, as are you. I love your twists, tips, and ever-thoughtful sharing of fabulous journals/ephemera. I also enjoy the new TH trimmer and found not cutting at the very top or bottom works for me. It still has the great markings needed to make the cuts.
Super tip and a great idea. The multitude of measurement lines does make a great difference.
Glad to see you. Continued prayers. Great video by the way. ❤❤❤Sherry
Thank you, Sherry ❤️
As always super great ideas. I remember seeing this on Gayles channel, this is a great reminder to try it. I love all of your projects. If you haven’t already, hop up pretty soon to Skagit County and see the tulips. 🌷🌷🌷. Barb Pacific NW
Thank you, Barb! The tulips are up? Haven't seen hide nor hair of them down here. Next Saturday is currently scheduled to be glorious, so I'll head up early in the morning. I appreciate the head's up!
Great to see you cori. Enjoyed your video. TFS stay well💕🌴
Thank you, Annette ❤
I love this bigger version! Glad your back. Hope your healing and feeling better. I do get my straw paper from Italy from Rachel at roxy creation. She really does great with the postage. Her straw paper seems more homemade and fiberus (don’t think that’s a word, but you know what u mean) I know a lot of people have made the homemade vintage yellowed tape, but I’d love to see you make a version of it. I feel like we all have our own ways and can learn from all the ways. I know this has nothing to do with this video, but I thought about it for the pc you accidentally cut too short! We all need faux vintage tape! Love ya!
Thank you, Jamie. I'd forgotten that Rachel sells it and I agree, hers is lovely with excellent texture. I'll add making faux aged tape to my list. My process is embarrassingly quick and easy, but that might benefit some 😊
@@CoriDahmen I’d love to see your process
Hi Cori. It is always very exciting when I see a new video pop up from you. I have made the 4 pocket version of this that Gayle had on her channel, and I am excited to try this one. By the way, the narrow one you made with vellum would make a great belly band.
They do make great belly bands too! Thank you 😊
👍🧡
Hi cori I found your videos after watching the collaboration with Racheal and Bella I am so glad I found you love your style and the way you share your creations thank you ❤ I hope your health stays good ❤❤
Thank you and welcome! I'm loving all the ideas shared on that collaboration and am honored to have been included. I'm glad you're finding ideas that will work well for you!
Hi Cori. I got my straw paper from Rachel at Roxy Creations. Glad your recovery continues. Xx
Thank you, Debbie 😊
Cori, the only source I know of for straw paper is Rachel at Roxy Creations. She's an Aussie living in Italy and has access to some of the most beautiful antique papers which she often sells. I also saw Gayle make the woven pockets and have used them often and now I really like what you have done with the idea. 🇨🇦
Thank you, Janet. Isn't Gayle the best? I do adore her and her wonderful videos 💕
Neat pockets
Thank you!
This is great! I remember Gayle's video when it first came out. But I didn't have a TO DO LIST back then. So now I'll put this on my to-do list so I can remember. I like the longer style, too. If I cut vertical ones and left 1/4" in-between, I could fold a longer one to make an accordion book?? That might be cool for a journal insert. I might try that after I make some of these. I bought my Straw Paper from Italy. No idea WHY! Maybe someone gave me the link. It was very expensive and shipping was very high $!! It IS very nice though! It was right after Covid and shipping went crazy! Seems it's STILL crazy! But a US source would be better. Selling on Etsy sounds like too expensive for sellers. I've bought things thru a different source. Don't remember. But even PayPal has cheaper fees. I'm sure if people email you their orders, there's a better way to get their money to you. I understand Etsy has to make $ too. But Sellers do all the work and shipping IS HIGH. So that has to be added to the sale. Hope you can figure that out. CRAFTY MI only sells from Facebook. But I don't know how you get money to her. Anyhow,...thanks for a great video!! You are a great teacher! Your experience teaching for work sure shows. It's good for us. Thanks!!
Austin TX USA
Thank you, Barbara and such good ideas for places and ways to sell. Thank you!
I bought some straw paper on Etsy and it was nice
Great to know. Thank you, Cindy 😊
You are so interesting how can you not watch till the end.
LOL Patricia. Thank you for being so kind. If I could just get my 5th graders to listen until the end 😁
Love your videos and all the clever pockets and goodies you create. Will be thinking of you and wishing you well on the next surgery and recovery which is the hard part. Was hoping to sent you something but redid my craft room and filed your address in a safe place. So safe that I’m still looking for it. 😂 If you give out your email address would love to have it. Looking forward to the little book make. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
LOL! That sounds a whole lot like me! I'm careful to save things, but I don't always remember "the perfect place" that I saved them! I'm cdscrappin@aol.com and though I'm not diligent about checking my email every day. I get to it at least once or twice a week!
I just discovered your channel and have so enjoyed your ideas and techniques. Just wanted to say thank you for the inspirations. How did you know that I wanted to know how to make the little books? I am now a loyal fan!
Lol! Timing. It’s all about timing 😊Thank you, Shannon and welcome ❤
💕🙏🏼🌷
Good morning Cori - do you have a video on the making of this book? Thank you for all of your sharing - it is marvelous work!
Hello! I haven’t shared how I made this journal, but I will. Next up is the single signature mini journal.
If you still have ink boxes available, I’m interested in purchasing one. Thanks Cori!
Thank you, Jean. I do have some and I'm finishing up a few other alternate designs. I'll share a video on how to purchase them, if you'd like, on Sunday.
Cori , the only place I know you can get strawpaper is Roxy Creations. It's lovely paper.
Thank you, Becky and agreed. It is lovely!
Hope you are back to 100% soon. Cannot wait for the little journal tutorial as I'm with you on loving tiny things like that. Just curious, did you ever try the Cutterpillar Crop? Wondering how it compares to the Tim Holtz trimmer.
It’s been a really long time since I’ve used the cutterpillar. I didn’t find it much different than a few of the a Fiskars trimmers, though I’m honestly not sure about more recent models.
I would love a three hole ink box..................
If you send me an email I can make that happen! cdscrappin@aol.com
👍👍👍💕💕💕🇩🇰
I use that woven pattern that Gayle posted. But I LOVE your ideas!!! Can't wait to try them. How's your knee and leg? Are you going to PT?
Thank you, Pat. Leg is still attached 😊 One more procedure (I hope) then I can start P/T. The darn thing will get there eventually.
Does anyone know where I can get some braille paper? Looking for the used or embossed paper.
Braillebookstore.com has them for sale.
If your comments didn't already tell you you can get the straw paper from Roxie creations it's Rachel at Roxy creations and I love your channel
Thank you and thank you ❤️😊
These turned out just lovely! What is your email address? I know many people are going with Zelle or direct PayPal, eBay or something like that. Etsy is pushing out the wonderful small businesses that built them. Sorry you have had such a rough go with this injury, but happy to hear you are doing a little better. 🤗❤️
Thank you. I didn't notice the fee hike so much until I looked at taxes for both 2021 and then 2022. I was astounded at the fee jump between the two years. I get that they also need to make a profit, but yikes! My email is cdscrappin@aol.com
It surprised me to hear you describe yourself as a loud person! In your videos you come across as calm and even somewhat quietly spoken. I wonder if your loud voice is your classroom teacher voice (or even your Mum voice) 🤔 You don't have to use that with us because you aren't competing with a rowdy classroom and you know we're paying attention 😉 Thanks for another interesting video. Cheers, Tracey 😊
LOL Tracey! I read this aloud to my husband and he just shook his head from side to side 😁 I'm deaf in one ear so am a bit louder than many, simply because if I can't hear then others can't hear, right? Then I was a cheerleader for a long time and a teacher. Lets just say I have the ability to talk (though not yell) over my loud students to gain their attention. Though truly, my preference is a quiet voice 💕
@@CoriDahmen That's a great talent to have as a teacher 😁 I had a cheeky thought... maybe we don't hear you as "loud" because we have a volume control setting 😉 Just joking, I stand by my first comment. It's sometimes surprising how we're perceived by other people. Cheers, Tracey 😊
I got my straw paper from Etsy: www.etsy.com/listing/966550530/30-italian-straw-paper-sheets-journal?ref=share_v4_lx. I’m relatively new to junk journaling but love making ephemera. I am trying a Kofi shop as I’ve heard many negative reviews about the cost of Etsy and some other things. I personally do not like some of the things about it as a customer. Anyways, I think you might take a look at selling your items on Kofi. I tried making a pocket like the first one that you showed and now I know better what to do. My previous try was made with following a printed template picture and now I know I should have used strips to weave. Blessings! @theresaconway-hayes
Thank you very much Theresa! I appreciate the straw paper source and the Ko-Fi suggestion. I know others who sell there, so when I've put some items together I will definitely look into it. Paypal is still an option too, as I've had good luck that way. I'm glad you gave the pocket a try, and that you've learned what will work for you in the process 💕
Amazon for straw paper
Gotta love the amazing Amazon! Thank you 😊
I got my straw paper from @cameliacraftsdesigns 😊
