'Meet The Artist' (No:52) | Richard Box | Embroiderer & Painter

Richard Box’s process of collage & stitch is informed by the principles of Impressionist art. Richard demonstrates a 'Blackberries & Spider’s Web' project using layers of coloured cloth & stitch - then explains how to ‘draw’ with the sewing machine. Richard studied at Goldsmiths' School of Art, his embroidery tutor was Constance Howard. Richard is an author, painter & art historian. Filmed at the Festival of Quilts 2021 - Richard is wearing a face mask during the interview.
