@@Cryotydeunderstanding if something is clearly sponsored or not can help provide the user with the knowledge needed to take the paid content not quite at face value. If this is the first time you've ever encountered the idea of sponsored content and what it means as a consumer, I suggest trying to pay attention to the track record of reviewers and correlate their ratings and views and compare it with whether it's sponsored or not, as sponsored content will likely leave you feeling mostly positive. Which is what is being paid for ideally.
The first game was incredible; got 55/56 achievements just couldn’t beat the game on master. Was a blast for solo & with friends. Hopefully it comes out on xbox soon.
It’s out now but broken lol, friend and I found the work around tho just do not use triggers period in combat or it can turn turn orders and cause the game to halt
I love this little hidden gem For The King! Love the mechanic to unlock new classes and other items, increase replayability despite the Roguelite design. Even made a little "Let's Play" youtube video, hoping to convince my friends to play with me, haha... to no avail, sadly I've got super busy friends... 😅 Looking forward to this sequel!
He'd be breaking UA-cam rules if he wasn't. With that said, full transparency is certainly appreciated over trying to hide the sponsorship as much as possible in some sneaky way.
I do indeed just follow the rules about it, the only thing I'm not explicitly required to do is put it on the thumbnail, I just find that helps people know what it is before even clicking on it.
Really enjoyed the first one (as a multiplayer experience, I think it's not too fun alone), and I'm not seeing a lot new here. Obviously the combat grid will open up a bit more strategy, but I'm not seeing a lot else.
This is exactly what my experiences were: I played the closed beta of the game and there wasnt anything new besides 4 player coop instead 3 player coop. Then they added a bunch of mechanics… which do not add any more fun, sadly.
I had a great time on singleplayer myself. I agree that there's not much new, but personally I don't mind having a couple fairly similar releases in a series, so I think a new map, story, sidequest objectives, and items are enough.
Hey Morti, first of all thanks for the review, I've had this game on the list for a long time! I need to ask - how buggy is the game right now? The forums and reviews are full of people mentioning issues
Thanks! Important to note this is not a review though, just a quick run down, reviews will never be sponsored. As for the bugs it seems to be mostly around the multiplayer that Ive read and I didnt really run into anything personally.
As a big fan of the first game I love that they've tried to do something slightly different and changed the art style. I heard it's a bit buggy but I'm trusting that the devs will be working on hotfixes quickly!
I found the first game to be fairly good, but I wonder how much this differs from the first. By the looks of it, it seems more like a major update rather than a new game?
@@gucciguy3408it kinda is, but so far in my experience there are more items to discover and monsters to fight, things to find. So far it just feel likes just a straight sequel. To me everything seems to have been improved over the first, but there isn't too much new system wise. If you enjoyed the first game and would like to play another newer game like it this would be it. I only play solo, and I've been having a blast.
The only thing I actively disliked about FTK1 was moving your party separately and getting caught in weird solo encounters with NO option to move as a group.
I loved FTK 1 and actually already bought FTK2 and are just waiting for my friends to get ready to play the game as 4. We are 4 fans and sadly the first game was just for 3 players.
Happy for the sponsor! I do wish you would have talked about the performance issues people are having with the game. It’s turned me off from buying it. And I was a masssive fan of 1.
The problems people are reporting seem to be related to the multiplayer mostly which isn't something I had a chance to experience or see any reports of pre launch.
There's a very fun little lilt in your voice on this video's intro that makes you sound like... like a 1920's gangster character. This game seems neat; I wonder how quick the combat goes?
I backed the first game on kickstarted and it was pretty fun, definitely going to pick this up at some point but I'm still working my way through recent releases so will probably wait for a sale.
I really liked the concept of For the King (1), I really disliked the system where you enter the combat with only the guy you interact with (= not as a party, but only guys that are nearby). For me it takes away the fun by increasing unfun micromanaging
I finished the first game but it didn't hook me enough for me to play more, so I am hoping a review is coming that will outline how this differs from the first.
Thank you for putting a sponsored content label in the thumbnail. We appreciate the respect and I'll look forward to your next video.
Why does it matter?

This game came to gamepass today and I searched it up and apparently I've already seen this video lol so thanks, again.

I loved the first one and am really looking forward to this one as well! Have fun everyone!
Always happy to see you get sponsored content. Onward to 300k. All glory to the algorithm.
I’ve been playing For The King 1 for years. I never knew this exsisted until now. 🤯
I’m not sure you get enough credit for your thumbnails Mortym. Love the choice of art everytime
Thanks! I put a fair bit of effort into them

Good to see a sequel to the first game, I liked it.

No need to try to fix what's not broken. As long as they change it up enough to where it's not just an expansion I'll be happy
@spectrumunit so far to me, it feels like a much improved first game. Way more enemy and weapon variety, and there are alot more strategies now.
@@lazerrhino that's great to hear

Good video man, informative and not too long!
I like vids that have a title that says what the video’s about and not something like “IS THIS THE BEST RPG OF 2023?!”
I just got this game as an anniversary gift for my gf! We have played and loved the first game so naturally we're excited to try this one out 😊

I found the first game to be fairly good, but I wonder how much this differs from the first. By the looks of it, it seems more like a major update rather than a new game?
Yea seems like just a slight change of story and slightly better graphics. With some minor gameplay changes.

The first one was low key the most addictive and fun game of 2017.
Gonna try the sequel without a doubt.
The only thing I actively disliked about FTK1 was moving your party separately and getting caught in weird solo encounters with NO option to move as a group.
I loved the first one I am so ready for game two.
Nice video as always!
Is this expected to ever come to console?

Thanks Mort!
I'm playing the first one right now. Didn't even know own there was a sequel

Now this I wasn't expecting, but I am happy to see it. For the king 1 was great fun

sorry if i missed it, but does the HP/damage of enemies scale with how many people are in the party?
No
Does anyone know when it comes to console
Yep, I am going to purchase.
Cute art style
This is for PC only?
Is there anything storybased in this game??
Loved the first one a ton
This looks pretty fun
This seems interesting. Do we have to play the first game to get the full story?
Nah they pretty much recap the important bits right away
I tried for the king 1 but wasnt able to get into it, not sure why.
Should I be scared that no final boss video has come out yet?
I really liked the concept of For the King (1), I really disliked the system where you enter the combat with only the guy you interact with (= not as a party, but only guys that are nearby). For me it takes away the fun by increasing unfun micromanaging
Dungeons seem to teleport everyone there, and individual encounters have a radius that pulls nearby party members into the fight
@@MortismalGaming I'm not sure if FTK2 is like this, but the first one seemed to be that dungeons pulled everyone in the same zone in.
Can you speak of the performance and/or bugs you may have encountered?
In the singleplayer mode that I played I didnt really encounter any problems, most of the bugs seem to be with co op that Ive seen.
Looks like a fun game to try with friends
Thank you for your hard work as always. :)
Now I feel the need to ask Banner Saga review when? xD
At some point maybe, but it wont be anytime soon

I am currently too busy to give this a full review, but I might get to it in the future
Hope it comes to Switch 🙂
Morar Avenue
I loved the first one. Sadly this one seems too similar to me.
Ok, let's watch
I really wish the first one tune down the difficulty. You can't finish the game because in late game, skills don't matter, just pure luck.😢
Ayeeee sup Morty
Seems fun for a co-op experience, but the first one wasn't enjoyable as a solo player.
Not sure I'll bother with this one.
for the free comment!
I think im going to wait for a few updates, heard the game is fun but has a few bugs
Is this game still roguelite?
Gronk!
cool
now just wait 2 years for it to be free on epic games store
like the first game
Will you 100% and make a review for this game ?
Maybe at some point, but I simply dont have the time right now.
for me this game has 1 big issue, is way too slow...
Looks like another TRPG... my back log is getting full... I might just have to play on easy to finish them all in the next few years lmfao 🤣 😂 💀
