You touched on it briefly, but there's a much bigger story to the US buying up all the excess dairy and storing it. They had turned so much into cheese and had no idea what to do with it, that they started giving it out to those in need in the form of government cheese. Much of it started to mold however, leading to them storing over 1 billion pounds in caves across the US. They also regularly dumped out excess dairy into the dirt, never letting it reach consumers to reduce the supply in order to keep the price higher. I actually made a video breaking down the government cheese movement and their involvement in the dairy industry on my channel a while back.
There’s a point where a lady mentions animal protein “making your blood acidic” that kinda broke the spell for me, because diet has no measurable impact on the ph level of your blood and this has been repeatedly well demonstrated in double blind peer reviewed experiments. Honestly it puts the whole video essay in doubt, which is probably a good thing. Like maybe not accepting the lies we might’ve been told about milk wholesale, we shouldn’t believe everything in this video either, it doesn’t strike me as terribly well researched.
i have drank milk my hole life and am in good shape even if i don't workout to much, and then some people say i would be in even better shape if i didn't drink but i am doing fine so does it really matter. i am from denmark to so the companies and shit is different, making it even more annoying when some smart as tell me it's unhealthy and shows me an american newspaper about how bad american milk is. if you went back to a farmer 2000 years ago and told them that milk was unhealthy and that they shouldn't drink, you would get laughed at.
Cows produce milk for the same reason that humans do-to nourish their young-but calves on dairy farms are taken away from their mothers when they are just 1 day old. Read more how insane this industry is and what kind of massive suffering it brings and if you’re at least a bit empathetic, I’m sure you’ll change your mind.
It doesn't have an impact on the pH level of the blood (it would kill you instantly) but it affects the pH level of the cells in your body You can measure it in your urine
Yo Jake I like it better when YOU narrate your ENTIRE videos. Yes it's you in the beginning and end, but u clearly got someone to almost sound like you (but ZERO accent) for the meat of the documentary. Be careful bro, authenticity is very important. You have AMAZING content. Don't betray what got u this far just to try and make a steady high income. It's UA-cam bro. Don't be unnecessarily dishonest and keep informing the public and u should definitely stay in demand
I have to agree. Jake Tran is now too busy to record his own voiceovers, this is the beginning of the end of this channel as a team floods in and everything changes.
You had me right up till the lady talking about milk making blood acidic, which took me right back to the phase of quacks several years ago trying to convince people to jump on a diet that promoted an ideal blood pH. Back then, I researched it and found out that there's no such thing - the body regulates blood pH very strongly and diet does not affect it. This throws major doubt on the concept that milk acidifies the bloodstream which then demineralizes bones in order to compensate. I ain't willing to just come right out and thrash your channel for pitching new agey quack "medicine", but I do intend to research ALL of this now.
yup, the exact point I became pretty sceptical about some of the claims in this video. Gonna look into it myself, but its pretty hard to find anything concrete when it comes to nutritional science since it seems no one can ever make up their minds about what's healthy or not.
@@techniek3422 I think that's mostly because scientists work in degrees of effect so small that the results are just naturally fuzzy because they're miniscule, then they submit a paper, and the dumbass public twists it into huge black and whites. Yeah I found a lengthy scientific paper on the subject and phewwww you needed a degree in organic chemistry to follow any of it. I finally had to just skip to the summary because the meat of it was starting to blur. Gist was, there may or may not be an effect at all but if there is then it's a seriously weak effect. FAR more important is how your general nutrition was when you were in your growth years, unsurprisingly. To significantly degenerate bone as an adult, you need to do far worse to yourself than have a milk drinking habit. Also, any *possible* effects were proven to be limited to those binging HARD on milk every day, like several glasses per day. So much so that you'd be suffering far more from the excessive fat than anything else.
Yeah I agree. And Asian people suffer from lactose intolerance 40x more than other populations. So there are case by case reactions. Not everyone was born for the teet. And try taking a classic recipe and substituting the cows milk out 🤮
@@mrwigglyfingers9377 Well I never went and researched every bit like I threatened to because it didn't seem as important anymore. I did find out though that it's mostly bs. Drinking milk isn't going to save your life nor is it going to end it. It's fine when you're young but esp. whole milk is very fatty and that may not be the best thing to binge on in one's latter years. As with all things, moderate consumption is fine at any age unless you're lactose intolerant for obvious reasons. I know from my own heavy milk drinking that it is a great way to put on weight quickly, but probably not the healthiest. I maintain about a cup a day of intake now because I like it esp. in coffee, but 1 cup a day is pretty much inconsequential for anyone. 150 calories, 8g fat, 8g protein, whoop de do.
As someone that has been watching your content for a very long time I cant believe im considering stopping, you went from probably the best mini doco/video essay channels on youtube period to whatever this is now, what made your videos amazing and unique was you. The way YOU edited, the way YOU narrated, this channel has just suddenly become your passive income, and it shows, you can look at "The man that stole $24,000,000 from McDonald’s" or "A simple guide to kidnapping someone (feat. the CIA)" vs this video, as the quality drop is insane. 3:18 to 4:12, we get the point, we dont need to watch the full 1 minute ad with this goofy music taken from epidemic sound, simply could have just shown the last couple of seconds of the ad. When you narrate, its mysterious, suspenseful, with these other narrators its just not it, I'd rather just go watch one of the many Jake Tran rip offs as they do a better job imitating your style. Its like you don't care for these videos anymore, if that's the case just change the channel name, what's the point of watching a "Jake Tran" video, if Jake Tran isn't even making the video. Honestly instead of uploading every 3 days it would be so much better if you just uploaded once a week with a quality video. I'm still going to pay to support this channel because I enjoy the bangers that get dropped for members, the day that those get outsourced.... oh boy
I honestly agree. For so months now, I see a big shift. From niche, intriguing documentaries about topics no one else picks up to... Next badly researched, sensational "education" channel.
There is a state in India called Haryana. It's basically the Boston of India -- tough conditions, tougher people. If you add another state Punjab, the two states with about 3% of the country's total population account for like 80% of the country's total medals in contact sports. And the local kabaddi/wrestling leagues are dominated by the people from these two states. And basically 50% of their diet is like dairy products including ghee, butter, milk, curd, lassi, etc. It's not propaganda, but a tradition passed down from generation to generation over thousands of years. Dairy is such an essential part of daily life that having your own cattle is a status symbol. American corporations have a unique ability of turning everything into propaganda, doesn't mean you have to throw the baby out with the bath water. Bottled water is pretty much all propaganda especially if you live in a developed nation, doesn't mean you should stop drinking water. Also, milk's history in India goes back to at least 8000 years ago, contrary to the claim in the video that no one drank milk before Europeans.
According to the Global Burden of Disease study age-standardized estimates (2010), nearly a quarter (24.8%) of all deaths in India are attributable to CVD (Figure 1A). The age-standardized CVD death rate of 272 per 100 000 population in India is higher than the global average of 235 per 100 000 population (Table 1).Apr 19, 2016 Animal products, incluzive dairy are linked to cardiovascular diseases
@@bazileia9222 correlation causation something something. Pollution is also a major CVD contributor. The cardio issues also were amplified once people switched to refined oils and their lifestyles became more sedentary.
I bet they are not known to live long lives or arthritis fracture free bones in later years. Why do ignorant people assume that just because they are strong in youth years that they will not pay the price for their acidic lifestyles in later years?
Well you say that. But all I see is a genuine way developing countries can boost their GDP.. i.e. having their local government genuinely care about their local economy and promote it's growth rather than laundering it. Though they may "over care", at least they do care. This is a lesson for developing countries.
The nutritional misinformation on this video is astounding. Yes, milk isn't as good as they say it is but not for the reasons stated. Saturated fat and animal protein are bad for you? Yeah, no.

But if you can't question a single (of the MANY) theories that this video presents about milk (yes a lot of them are theories especially the latter part of the video where a bunch of clips of sensationalist snakeshow dr's are talking) then might as well stop drinking milk all together. Yet I don't think you'll do that either, as you are just the type of guy to listen and repeat, not do.
I've been saying it all along. Milk has been part of my diet for years. I drank alot of it everyday even up to adulthood. I was diagnosed with pcos and I felt like milk was the cause. And I know I'm right especially when the doctor talked about milk having insulin and hormones and pcos women have insulin resistance. More research needs to go into this when it comes to female reproductive issues like pcos and fibroids etc.
Well you said you drank a lot of it everyday Andrew should all know too much of anything is bad even too much of water is bad if you drank milk like 5times a week or once you would be fine I've been drinking milk for so long I drink it for like 2-4days till it finishes then don't drink it again for 4-5days espacially to save
PCOS is usually caused by a high-carb diet (which is what leads to development of insulin resistance). Milk is only a partial contributor. Processed dairy should be avoided due to its inflammatory effects. However, I wouldn't condemn kefir, yogurts with live cultures, butter, or hard cheese. But some women need to avoid all dairy to heal and thrive.
@@HenIchaer i dont know how you confidently said "pcos is usually caused by a high-carb diet". you must be smarter than all the doctors in the world since they haven't yet pinpointed the cause of pcos. Also, if carbs were the reason, all overweight people would have pcos and that is clearly not the case.
@@victorarnold3121 I'm assuming you're a man. If you are decently healthy enough, you would have to suffer serious trauma to your bones to actually break them, regardless of the components of your diet. When it comes to children or women, they are at a much higher risk than you - children because their bones are still developing and they tend to be boisterous, falling from great heights - and women, because they lose calcium as they age and especially more after pregnancy and menopause. Bone health is much more complicated than simply "drinking milk". Plus, you watched the video. Its not about your faith in God. It's about your faith in the dairy industry.
Please Jake, start making your videos for quality not quantity. Not everything is a scam or a catastrophe and you don't have to pretend like it is to make videos. Dairy is very nutritious, and has been keeping civilisations going since thousands of years before America was colonised. You say everyone is lactose intolerant, that's completely bs. Different races have different rates of lactose intolerance. Also all of the "scientific" claims you mention are either debunked or were from inaccurate studies. Just because something is heavily advertised doesn't necessarily mean it's evil. European countries consume dairy as a staple without the need of advertisement and "evil schemes". America does, however, make really bad quality dairy
As European, I was heavily propagandized by school, parents and TV as well that drinking milk every day is *essential*, especially for bones. It's complete BS. You can go your life never drinking milk after infancy and be just fine.
The part about drinking milk and bone fractures was also dishonest. Europeans don't just drink more milk but are also more physically active and outdoorsy. That means a lot more accident prone. That lady using it as an argument has never heard of survivor bias. I was really scratching my head trying to figure out why the US government needed to convince its population to consume milk when we here have been drinking it for thousands of years and making cheese out of the excess milk.
Yes, milk has boosted my digestion and cured my insomnia. Plus saturated fat is incredibly good for humans, doctors have no idea what they're talking about. They're taught to deal drugs, they know nothing about nutrition. Seed oils and polyunsaturated fat is what causes most cancers and heart problems in humans. And Igf-1 is good for humans as well it'll grow new bone, muscle and brain tissue. As a rule of thumb, whatever your doctor tells you, do the complete opposite
This video kind of makes me question jakes research in his videos. So many clear inaccuracies that have been disproven. Especially when referring to eating animal protein
@@beyondspeaks take a look at this 21:54. if you know anything about physics and chemistry you would spot the bs in 1 microsecond. methane is CH4 meaning 1 carbon atom and 4 hydrogen atoms. when burnt it releases that carbon atom creating C02 and 2x H2O. so this 21:54 is completely illogical and false.
There are so many misleading and inaccurate things said in this video. While there is truth to the overall message The vast majority of dairy farmers in the 20th century were Family farms that worked seven days a week, 365 days a year, getting up every single morning at 3 AM to go milk, and doing it again in the afternoon. A lot of years milk prices were so low they could barely get by. Most of them are now out of business but they held on as long as they could. This video makes me question every other video he’s ever made.
I find it interesting that we as a nation went from everyone drinking milk to almost 30% of people today being lactose intolerant. Makes you wonder what the heck happened. If this was a Jake Tran video we would know the answer to that lol
@@horsepowermultimedia People finding out milk is bad doesn't automatically turn them into being lactose intolerant. Being lactose intolerant isn't a personal decision, its genetics. If 30% of people are now lactose intolerant that obviously suggests demographic changes.

Lotta people believe the info you give and take it at face value, even if that is on them it isn't responsible or cool to just stop caring about the quality of your channel my guy it's the reason we all come here to watch your videos. And that quality be dippin And these click bait thumbnails just ain't it boss just take longer periods of time to put out higher quality videos.
Totally dropped in quality, especially in researching the benefits and detriments of dairy. Better research should have been done. The mega corporations are not the greatest but that doesn't mean all dairy is treated the same.
Jake, I have been a huge supporter of your channel since I found it a year and a half ago. Sadly, things are not the same, you guys use extremely clickbait-y titles/thumbnails, and an obvious decrease in quality over an increase in quantity, with factory-like videos every 3 days. I hope you and your team take an objective view of your channel and make some positive changes
Completely agree. The subject started with milk on human evolution (which I completely do NOT agree - the Indian subcontinent has has cultivated and consumed Milk products for thousands of years before Europe), to milk is not for human consumption (these studies were done with excessive consumption of milk), and then turned into big milk agricultural subsidies (which I agree and support, but not for the reasons that Jake mentioned), to impact to the environment (agree with Jake). The channel is slowly turning into Q theories. While some content (far from being a documentary) is great on the channel, this one was unthoughtful, without evidence, and disjointed. Unsubscribed, until Jake revives his content and delivery.
Jake, I love your videos and have since day one but the "Is Milk Healthy" part is filled with a bunch of misinformation and debunked ideas. Which, unfortunately, were stitched together to help this biased "dairy is all bad" narrative. Yet, dairy products themselves are none of these things; it’s the tampering and processing of dairy that is the culprit of many problems. "Our food cultures, like linguistic and moral cultures, give us some assumptions or theories about the way the world should be, and if these beliefs aren't questioned and tested, they can permeate the culture of science, turning the research process into a rationalization of accepted opinions." So here is some context: Yes, since milk's primary biological function is to support the growth of a young animal, some of its features make it inappropriate as a sole food for an adult. To support cell division and growth, the methionine and tryptophan content of milk is higher than would be optimal for an adult animal, and the phosphate might be slightly more than needed, in relation to the calcium. And yes, since the fetus stores a large amount of iron during gestation, the iron content of milk is low, and when a young animal has used the stored iron, its continuing growth requires more iron than milk provides. *However,* for an adult, the low iron content of milk and cheese makes these foods useful for preventing the iron overload that often contributes to degenerative diseases. Especially, with all the toxic iron-fortified foods so easily found in the US. *On Milk's Antistress Effects* Combining milk and cheese with fruits also creates a biological antistress effect. The additional sugar and potassium + other minerals allow the milk protein to be used more efficiently, by moderating the secretion of cortisol, and helping to inhibit the secretion of parathyroid hormone (PTH). This is significant as PTH is an important regulator of calcium metabolism. If dietary calcium isn't sufficient, causing blood calcium to decrease, the PTH increases, and removes calcium from bones to maintain a normal amount in the blood. PTH has many other effects, contributing to inflammation, calcification of soft tissues, and decreased respiratory energy production. "When there is adequate calcium, vitamin D, and magnesium in the diet, PTH is kept to a minimum. When PTH is kept low, cells increase their formation of the uncoupling proteins, that cause mitochondria to use energy at a higher rate, and this is associated with decreased activity of the fatty acid synthase enzymes. The “metabolic syndrome,” that involves diabetes, hypertension, and obesity, is associated with high PTH (Ahlström, et al., 2009; Hjelmesaeth, et al., 2009). Alzheimer's disease involves decreased mitochondrial activity and low levels of the uncoupling proteins. There is evidence that milk drinkers are protected against dementia (Yamada, et al., 2003). Cancer involves increased activity of the fatty acid synthase enzymes. Increased calcium consumption beneficially affects both sets of enzymes, uncoupling proteins and fatty acid synthase. Multiple sclerosis relapses consistently occur at times of high PTH, and remissions consistently occur at times of low PTH (Soilu-Hänninen, et al., 3008). There are components of milk that might protect against tooth decay by inhibiting the binding of bacteria to teeth (Danielsson, et al., 2009). David McCarron has published a large amount of evidence showing how calcium deficiency contributes to high blood pressure. The chronic elevation of PTH caused by calcium deficiency causes the heart and blood vessels to retain calcium, making them unable to relax fully." *On Milk Protein* The chemist Norman Pirie argued convincingly that leaf protein had much higher nutritional value than grain and bean proteins, and that it had the potential to be much more efficient economically, if it could be separated from the less desirable components of leaves. The amino acid composition and nutritional value of leaf protein is similar to milk protein, which is understandable since cows produce milk from the amino acids produced in their rumens by bacteria digesting the leaves the cows have eaten. The bacteria perform the refining processes that Pirie believed could be done technologically, and they also degrade or detoxify the major toxins and allergens. The nutrients produced in the cow's rumen are selectively absorbed into the cow's bloodstream, where the liver can further filter out any toxins before the amino acids and other nutrients are absorbed by the udder to be synthesized into milk. If cows are fed extremely bad diets, for example with a very large amount of grain, the filtering process is less perfect, and allergens can reach the milk. And it doesn't stop there...
you know this comment could genuinely be a video response to whatever this video is supposed to be. it is in fact, a lot more well researched, organized and informational. you get my like. Jake doesn't.
one side is propaganda. it’s either you or jake. it might be a little more grey than that, but ~generally speaking~. So my intuition is gonna rest with where the dollars don’t. Peace, cow suckers 👋👋
The channel that you guys are sourcing is just plain wrong on so many things. "Milk makes the blood acidic" a small change in pH would kill a person first of all, second, milk is pretty much neutral (6,7 - 6,9 in pH, and curdles if acidic). Not to mention all the other medical and scientific inaccuracies. No explanation of relative vs absolute risk, amino acid profiles and bio availability when looking into how good it is as a nutrition source, and so much else. Love the work you do usually and the milk lobby and carrell are horrible, but the medical claims were just so out there that it ruined the whole video for me.
The effect on the body isn’t the same as it’s PH though. The body produces excess stomach acid to break down the dense chains of amino acids. Pretty simple actually. It’s why carnivores have much higher levels of stomach acid. The lady did misspeak saying it was acidic, she should have said it has an acidic effect on the body.
Same, I sit on a sofa all day playing games, but I drink a bottle of milk every day and I look like a bodybuilder, milk is the reason why. Can't believe some people wanna take away one of the only good things in the world smh

First half about the collusion between dairy industry and government was interesting. Reaching a bit with this one. Milk and dairy products have been a staple for nomadic peoples for thousands of years with no issues. Oh, and humans developed agriculture and animal husbandry in North America 4 thousand years ago?? And milk was was just marketed by greedy farmers during that time? I don't think so, chief!
Were you there in those thousands of years to see they had no health issues whatsoever? Did you personally inspect every skeleton belongings to nomadic tribes? Extending that into studies on lack of B12, vit A, k2 and carnitine (as well as many other things) in children and their long term effects. There's also the fact that methane is not CO2 and that they work differently within the environment and it stays in the atmosphere for a much shorter time frame. In addition to the other holes in your facts which some have already pointed out, lactose tolerance/intolerance is NOT the result of a gene mutation. There is a bacteria or 'probiotic' found in non-pasteurized milk that breaks down lactose in the stomach. It is essential for the calf as well. Humans become 'tolerant' when this probiotic sets up shop in our stomachs which is still possible despite pasteurization, though it takes longer. If you want proof, look at U.S. troops who've served in Arab nations for years. They became lactose intolerant, and some got their tolerance back by drinking milk again. I'm still commenting because I'm still hopeful for the channel, but please try to shore up your research as you're busy growing the channel. And if you take anything of this to heart, please take this: The race to power is real, and currently prevalent, but it is just one facet of Humanity, and not always consistent or predominant. P.S. I enjoy listening to Peterson as well 👍
I wasn’t able to find your sources for your claims about said soldiers coming home with lactose intolerance but about 63% of the world is lactose intolerant so it is unlikely that this intolerance could just be fixed by drinking milk. Additionally lactose tolerance is said to be attributed to a single point mutation in the DNA near to the lactase gene that changes the cytosine (C) nucleotide to a thymine (T). People with the nucleotide (T) are lactose tolerant and can drink milk without getting sick. I think it’s great to provide feedback to Jake but your statement was in my opinion overly critical when the statement you are making may not be correct. However I would love to see some studies supporting your argument.
The short answer is that I learned from a local expert with education and experience, and my own experience likewise. The direct sale of raw milk is illegal where I live, but there are loopholes. Some of the people who are lactose intolerant have either little problems drinking raw milk or no problems at all. On the other hand, I am skeptical of studies in genetics. According to Peterson and what I've reviewed, most biological science is correlative which has its strengths, but also many weaknesses. I follow science as best as a I can, but it is important to test it in reality as much as possible, and I often find those results weigh more than a study.

Dairy isn't a black or white issue. It's not always good, and it's not always bad, but almost everything in this video was a lie. First and foremost, drink raw milk from grassfed cows. One needs no enzyme in their body to digest the milk if they do this, and it's generally very healthy for you (unless you're overweight, then things are a maybe).
I wonder why they were testing for bone fractures for the calcium study. I feel like that study seems a bit skewed because I would assume somewhat that the people drinking the most milk are more active (and thus getting more injuries) than the ones not drinking milk.
It was also measured per country. Coincidently the highest rates where in the same areas so it could just be related to geographic aspects like mountainous terrain in Scandinavia
I’m glad people are realizing that even though these videos are frames as “exposing the truth” they’re really just throwing out another side of the argument that goes on in the research

20:06 creating a correlation between calcium intake and bone fractures doesn't indicate a causal relationship. Several other underlying factors may had caused the increased bone fracture frequency (sporty lifestyle, reckless behaviors) measuring the bone calcium density and comparing it to the intake would had been a better choice. Plus there are many questionable arguments made against milk in the video
Yea. Incidentally enough all these arguments are the same false ideological propaganda arguments the vegan cult has manufactured. Lived with a vegan and heard them regurgitated plenty of times and they have never been substantiated.
Still it needs to be pointed out, if it would make such a great difference as the industry claims? Why do we see more broken bones in countries with high consumption of milk/dairy products if it makes our bones stronger ? And it is not a correlation between calcium-intake and bone-fractures, but a correlation between milk/dairy consumption and fractures, since calcium can come from many sources. There are no scientific studies that shows bone-density improving from drinking milk either. And kids are kids, reckless behavior is not a national thing, it is universal among kids, and sports are also universal, in the west or east. Sure, there can be a lot more factors that would contribute, like kids in countries with less fractures consume more veggies that contains calcium, and thus getting less fractures... but still the western kids should be as strong, if not stronger, considering the volumes of calcium they supposedly get from milk. cheers
Seems like these documents Jake is using here are trying to put all dairy farmers in the same box. Maybe companies like shamrock farms that hold thousands upon thousands of cattle in boxes where these poor animals are living in their own shit, piss and surrounded by other dying cows. There's a farm like this near Dalhart Texas and every time I drive passed I get upset. Compared to the small local farms that are dying due to the monopolys no one wants to admit exist it comes off a little ungenuine but yes let's blame the entire dairy industry. 70 cows are equal to 4000+ cattle, local farmers are dying and getting eaten by the big fish. Same argument can be made with media, entertainment, transportation, ect
@@AscendedZenith Nutrition is also important. Malnourishment will generally impair height and the global average height of humans started rising once the Industrial Revolution allowed for greater food production.
Love your videos, but got to disagree on the health aspect. Dairy protein is of higher quality and butter, cheese and the saturated fat aren't a recipe for a heart attack. Carbohydrates are. Edit: The Amazon rainforest thing is kind of true, but if you live in the US, just buy from local farmers. The global warming thing is a total hoax.
The milk in the stores is triple washed up trash and just like the meat poisoned. But if you're able to process milk then it is indeed extremely nutritious and efficient. The first part of your is true, but global warming is a hoax? Really? Sure the Earth's climate has always changed, but fossil fuels such as CO2 have been proven to have negative effects on the Ozone layer and environment, one of those being the faster than normal global warming rate we see today. Sure the Earth has been warming since the Little Ice age of the 1500s-1700s, but the rate of warming pre-Industrial Era and post-Industrial Era is completely disproportionate. The Earth is warming much faster than it did pre-Industrial Era after the end Little Ice age and that has been traced back the rising levels of CO2 and other fossil fuels in the atmosphere.

Jake needs to spend as much time researching videos as he does dying his hair terrible research. sensationalised nonsense for the most part. ignores centuries of agriculture and food trends , doesn't look at milk production outside US mega corps. why not mention that goat and sheep milk is more like human breast milk so its easier for pppl to process dairy from those animals? my family were farmers in Ireland for generations. some of the strongest and healthiest ppl you'll find and they lived on milk, bread and potatoes. everything in moderation. the milk in South America tastes like shit, mostly coz they spray awful chemicals on the grass to make it grow and the cows are all chowing down. in Ireland milk is fantasti, I would imagine largely because there is a lot of rainfall, restrictions on the kinds of fertiliser and chemicals farmers can spray so quality improves
I live in Brazil and i gotta say that depends on the brand. Some milks have little to no taste, while others are delicious. Ig it depends on who produces and how. Just saying that cuz "The milk in south america tastes like shit" sounds like a generalisation and not all milk taste bad. There should really be a quality control tho so bad products don't get into the market.
Somebody has been sucks on the cow’s teet for too long and had his bubble burst. Why do u need milk from another animals when its meant for calves. Grow up and drink a beer
I think the information here is incomplete: Firstly, pure milk is just one aspect of the dairy industry: Cheese and fermented milk, such as Buttermilk, Yogurt and Sour cream are also on this list, and that's very important, because those are fermented dairy products that ARE digestable and are extremely healthy for you. I say the milk industry isn't sinister so much as simply incompetant and ignorant. Milk CAN actually be a very efficient and versitile source of nutrients and protein: Again, it can be used to add quick nutrition to soup and coffee, mixed with tea it can be carbonated into cream soda, and again in it's fermented forms it is very, very potent and nutritious.
Raw milk has been been a miracle food for our family. I was always lactose intolerant and deficient in b12, iron, and vitamin d. Raw milk corrected all of those things. Pasteurization is the problem with milk.
You had me up until they started saying saturated fats in milk were unhealthy. Natural saturated fats found in things like meat, dairy, and even coconut oil are much healthier than polyunsaturated fats from things like canola oil or vegetable oil which negatively effect hormone production and oxidize much more easily creating toxic compounds which can lead to increased cancer risk. Saturated fats are the healthiest and most stable form of fat, less prone to oxidation.

@@derekk.2263 there's a bit of misinformation in this video, if you scroll a bit upwards the guy explains it really well. His older videos seem to be well researched then his newer ones.
20:42 "When you consume animal proteins... you pull Calcium from your bone and excrete it in your urine." This is not a statement opposing just milk, it's opposing eating meat. The later sentences explains that our body needs top compensate for the acidity of the blood after eating meat, so it pulls calcium from the bone. This could be prevented by making food compensate for itself, like adding bread, vegetables, or, any chemically base foods into the mix. However, other parts of this video are great, just that this statement feels off for it's own logic.
Hi, Jake! I'd really love to see your sources. Through my own research I have found this to be a mixed bag. Some studies claim that dairy is good for the bones, some say it's bad. Depending on if I searched for postive/negative things, I would just find reaffirmations for whatever I typed in. Would really love to check what sources you used. That's all. Good videos btw! Edit: nvm about the good videos. After reading through a bunch of comments I see that a lot of people also stand critical to how one sided your argumentation is. None of the aforementioned positive studies in relation to bone strength have been mentioned. If it was for that, it would have been a good objective documentary. Now I am more sceptical of your other content. Edit 2: I was hoping that Jake just didn't get through to mention the sources (wishful thinking, I know), but it has been 12 hours since the video was uploaded and there is still nothing. Begs the question why he would even have a segment called "sources" in the description. Definitely an unsub. Edit 3: been 10 days. I checked his other videos. He had no sources on the past like 5 videos when I checked a few days ago. Can't recommend subbing or believing anything he says if he doesn't have ANY sources to confirm his claims.
It is ultimately a polemic and Jake Tran can factually described as a polemicist. Now polemic often carries a negative connotation but I view it more nuanced as I think that polemics can be quite helpful actually as not everything needs to be "balanced" or neutral.
I've traveled the country over the years and have observed the children in dairy farming communuties appearing to be much healthier than in industrial or extractive communities. The calcium issues can be mitigated with vitamin K2 which is contained in grass-fed dairy products. Industrial farming methods may be the culprit here.
@@samscrib8719 Hence that false correlation between drinking milk and bone fractures. Healthy kids frome those countries are more active, thus more likely to break a bone.
I'm open to all arguments about the subject as I sit on the fence but being from dairy country there's a lot of talk and a little bit of supporting evidence that pasteurization is causing problems. Would like to see more honest studies on the matter but thanks to lobbying, I don't think we're going to get those answers in my lifetime.
This is one angle to the argument.. A2 milk is mothers milk..The Indian cow gives out the same A2 milk and is hence apt for human consumption.. The jersey A1 milk is not suitable for the same and hence the problem.. Milk has lots of vitamins that vegans and veggies will miss out on if they don’t consume it.. Milk is healthy in moderation..especially A2... But yes corrupt and unhealthy practices in treating the cows ,adulterated milk etc., all result in unhealthy milk that is obviously not good. Violence on cows is definitely bad ..That needs to be stopped . One more : We need some Magnesium to absorb calcium ..And here comes sunlight and some foods like sesame seeds. Everything is linked..

"milk is bad for you" is just plain wrong. milk is healthy but like with anything too much of a good thing can be bad. its like with water. no one would argue that water doesnt hydrate you but the fact is that water by itself wont hydrate you if your body doesnt retain and use it properly. your body is a multifaceted system with many different components that rely on each other to function. for example if you dont have good gut health then it doesnt matter how many good foods you consume your body wont absorb the nutrients properly.
Not to mention the simple fact that In europe and other parts of the world milk has been drinked for literally thousands of years... I get the appeal and flavor of this channel but this episode is literally overly sensationalised and frankly dumb.

20:43 statement about increased calciuruia is not accurate, the amount of excreted calcium caused by drinking water can lead to more calcium excretion than when consuming milk due to acidic Sulfates that may be present. Despite that top quality video
And that person saying that eating meat is increasing the acid level in blood. No kidding, its called ketogenesis, and its actually good to prevent hearth diseases. She says like the organism doesn't know how to regulate acidity levels in blood. I don't think body will excrete calcium to decrease the acidity levels on blood, that's so stupid, the easiest way to do that is by not getting rid of salts, so they neutralize the ketones, and guess what everyone puts on meat while cooking ? salt.
My mom and husband are lactose intolerant... but switched to grass fed A2 raw milk and they are fine. Back in the war, people used raw milk intravenously because there wasnt enough blood and it worked. Raw milk has live properties that are killed during the pasteurization process. Everyone is drinking dead milk.
There’s a lot of outdated information studies used for this video Jake, some of them have long been debunked by other studies and experiments. I think you might want make another video regarding the Diary topic but with better outsourced information and data.
We went through the same thing with gluten and eggs. There's nothing wrong with a little dairy consumption. It won't turn your bones to dust. Just moderate consumption like you should be doing with everything, get the best quality available to you and listen to what your body responds to. Let's not pretend that with the current rise in non dairy alternatives, those companies are also not serving their own interests in their criticism of the dairy industry. Not that all criticisms are invalid, but they should be taken with a pinch of salt when there's competition and personal interests involved. P.S. Bad practices aren't unique to any one industry.
as a foreigner who went to Americans school only on 8th grade I was shocked at how much American kids drink milk and also i wasn’t lactose intolerant for the 14 years of my life up to that point but literally first couple months of me starting to drink American milk my stomach stopped functioning
Reminds me of an incident parents used to dupe their kids with air moisturizers with toxic chemical powders being used to be mixed in the water tanks for the purpose of "sanitizing" the gathered tap water, in the country where I'm at. It ended up with an almost entirety of the children with such machines used in such specific ways to have shown results of lung solidification that's very similar to what Covid-19 can do to your lungs, with some cases even reporting noticable respiratory compromises, and even some resorting to oxygen tanks with ventilators or even facing deaths.

This is a great video and all but I do have some gripes. Studies on saturated fats are showing they are actually good for you. The amount of land that is actually good for growing crops is very small on earth, you would need to remove more forests or do extreme landscaping to make crops grow. It's not as efficient as farm animals using it and producing dairy and meat from grass.

What did you all find out?
@@mrwigglyfingers9377 Well I never went and researched every bit like I threatened to because it didn't seem as important anymore. I did find out though that it's mostly bs.

Thanks for putting this into words. It's really off-putting and why I stopped watching at the halfway mark.
It is very evil, they abuse and torture cows relentlessly until they’re (pun intended) absolutely milked dry.

The channel is slowly turning into Q theories. While some content (far from being a documentary) is great on the channel, this one was unthoughtful, without evidence, and disjointed. Unsubscribed, until Jake revives his content and delivery.
they brought in all the cowspiracy vegan doctors to spread one sided arguments again
"Our food cultures, like linguistic and moral cultures, give us some assumptions or theories about the way the world should be, and if these beliefs aren't questioned and tested, they can permeate the culture of science, turning the research process into a rationalization of accepted opinions." So here is some context:
Yes, since milk's primary biological function is to support the growth of a young animal, some of its features make it inappropriate as a sole food for an adult.
*On Milk's Antistress Effects*
Combining milk and cheese with fruits also creates a biological antistress effect.
The chronic elevation of PTH caused by calcium deficiency causes the heart and blood vessels to retain calcium, making them unable to relax fully."
*On Milk Protein*
The chemist Norman Pirie argued convincingly that leaf protein had much higher nutritional value than grain and bean proteins, and that it had the potential to be much more efficient economically, if it could be separated from the less desirable components of leaves.

I will have to look into the growth hormone bit, that's news to me.

P.S. I enjoy listening to Peterson as well 👍
The race to power is always consistent, prevalent and predominant. Stay ignorant, it’s a choice as well.

I say the milk industry isn't sinister so much as simply incompetant and ignorant. This could be prevented by making food compensate for itself, like adding bread, vegetables, or, any chemically base foods into the mix.

I hate the sudden hate for dairy, people are pretending like only in modern times can we understand health
Cuz people were a bit retarded back then
NO!
This video really puts an emphasis on how good marketing can completely change an industry
Irony

Galaxy Mist: I don't know about all that. But I only have my own experience to go by.
In the middle 80's I was active duty Air Force stationed on an island in the Pacific ocean.
For whatever reason we could not get cow's milk for quite a long time.
I really craved milk because of that and I had an opportunity to fly back to the states.
The very first thing I did after landing in Alaska, was head to the first place in the airport where I could buy some milk and I downed that container of milk without stopping.
It was sooooo good.
I don't drink milk that often now,but once in a while I'll have a glass with a PB&J sandwich.
...or government aided corruption..
I like that they interviewed a master of martial arts about if milk is good or not 😂
Somehow i refused to drink milk at age 5-6. In school i was almost forced to drink it and got into trouble by just drinking water. never had "weak bones" or whatever, i grew up just fine and tall without acne
LOVE THE PEPSI BOTTLE IN THE COKE COMMERCIAL.....😎☂️🍒💥💯™️®️©️😂🤣....ISNT THAT A LAW SUIT....
That look on Joey's face during that Coke commercial is hilarious 😂
lol
I was with it for the cartel aspect, then it went all vegan science… this channel is better than that…
Wtf is Vegan science? You don't like facts? lol
@@quaweeguy No facts at all. He calls Animal Protein and Fats bad for us, which is just not true and has been disproven many times. The Doctor he had on during this video is also a hack who (being a vegan) is the laughing stock of the health industry for his one-sided ideas that hold no actual weight.

@@quaweeguy vegan science… you know, half truths or whole lies.

Factsss????
Dude thinks drinking this amount of milk is modern capitalist push
But we have been consuming milk in good numbers from past 5000 years and even have dishes around it
I’ll drink whole milk and eat bacon until the day I die 🇺🇸
The lesson from this video?
INVEST INVEST INVEST in dairy, oil, meats, medical, pharmaceutical, snack foods!
You'll make great gains, and oh, by the way, to enjoy your wealth, avoid all those corporations' products and services.
You can expect to live well, long and happy. I don't even own a car and bike everywhere I need to go while enjoying perfect health and fitness, eating plant rich, whole foods. I retired at age 50!
Once upon a time I tried to educate the herd, but truth is poison to those living a lie. OK, so be it! Now, I love our corrupt system, because everybody gets just what they deserve, including me.
I stopped drinking milk a few months ago when I realised that it was the cause of my reflux, plus it started making me feel a little sick. Unfortunately all the fake milks ive tried taste like shit so i guess no milk for me
True milk (the one you get from cows udder and then boil in 70°C) is a very healthy kind of food. But you don't get such milk in stores there is only UHT milk which is not healthy.
try kefir its a yogurt drink its much thicker than milk but the natural process reduces lactose by 99%
Kefir is good, yoghurt is often full of added sugar and whatnot, for milk otherwise I recommend goatmilk

Try almond milk or oat milk. Oat milk is actually the closest texture and flavor to real milk in my opinion. Just gotta adapt to it.
Jake your videos are very high quality and entertaining but lately you've changed up your titles which resulted in me skipping some videos due to lack of excitement but after watching them for a bit they got me hooked once again so I recommend you return to your past title style
(Just my opinion)

Just watched cuz it's nice to be amongst the first viewers.. Funny right 🤣??
You know what Jake? Your latest titles don’t give off much hope lmao! Love em!

@@moffstv2 but its sadly more of a realistic approach
