I am so grateful for these really easy to follow beginner videos. I want to build a board with approximately 25 mph top speed and around 15-20 miles range. Could you recommend the motor, battery type and esc type I should use? I am a beginner in the DIY world and would love some help planning my build.

good explanation. However load does not increase exponentially with speed. It increases quadratic with speed.
It actually is exponential as he says after a point it increases exponentially not the whole overall function is an exponential increase
Drag force is proportional to u^2 (Velocity), however the power required to overcome the drag force is proportional to u^3.
It isn't an exponential increase. . Total drag on the skateboard is the sum of aerodynamic drag (wind resistance) and rolling resistance. If you compare these two types of resistances, you will see, that a lower speeds rolling resistance will be the dominant part of total resistance. On the other hand with increasing speeds rolling resistance stays almost the same, whereas wind resistance will increase, just as Tobsta1991 said: with velocity squared. Also for speeds up to 50 kph there is no point at which the drag or the power will increase with a different rate.

Hey Jason appreciate all the work you've put into educating us about how to DIY.
Other people here believe enertion being a small company is only able to buy enough of all the parts to build a batch that is basically sold then throw most of the money back into ordering supplies... having that going on means it has to be first come first served, they can't be financing everyone's purchase or holding onto equipment they could sell. When you don't have big capital or venture capitalists throwing money at a thing need to grow it organically.

hi, I want to make a electric longboard, but I want to do it myself. Small problem tho, when building a dual motor board you need two vesc, two motors, two motor mounts, two times belts and pulleys right? but how do you connect one wirless hand controler receiver to two vesc? And same question: how do you connect two vesc to two 5000mah Turnigy 3s batteries placed in series? I'm new to building electric skateboards so excuse my noobie thoughts :)
So I have a generic electric skateboard that maybe I want to slowly add parts to it to make my own. The board is a single wheel and I’m looking at the Sanyo batteries and was wondering if I need to upgrade the hub wheels and esc as well.

Hi enertion I recently bought your e-board parts to build my own e-board. I'm having a problem where the motor won't start. I sync the controller to the receiver and put the vesc together and connected it to the motor. long story short, it's not working. Do you have any recommendations or if you do- is there a tech group (like boosted-board) that I can send to, if any problems like this were to happen that could help me with this problem hands on? please contact me to your convince, I really would like to ride again and of course I paid for the pieces to work and I would love for it to work properly.

ok so im using a vesk from your website and a standard motor from your website (both around 100$) and im wondering which is the best battery to use which will have decent enough voltage to move the thing and have enough Mah to power me through (max price for battery is 250$)

Hey Jason, Ive mailed Support twice, tweeted you and no response on either. Tried the chat and was told Id get a response by yesterday. I received my board and not received a remote, amoungst other issues which i raised in the ticket to support! Could someone get in touch to resolve this now. Its three days since i received my board and im now feeling ignored and getting pissed off!

Who knows!!! I have the Raptor dual downstairs battery charged and no remote. So much for quality control! Its now three days and no reply from enertion at all! The only response ive received is from the chat which is outsourced because they cant actually do anything for me, as they just makes "notes on the case" and then dont get responses. There customer services is shit!

Also Jason already know a lot about what you are saying. He is making these vids to help educate consumers so that they know what is truely the best product. It is no doubt that Jason makes the best and most well balance electric skateboard available to date and it certainly is still being upgraded. Jason knows his stuff and know that people do know know what he knows about electric vehicles. He is trying to educate his viewers so that they can know what he has come to learn for electric skateboards. He actually has done a comparison video with the boosted a couple times but the reason he doesn't continue to compare his products with other prodects on the market is because he does want to give a bad image for his company. Also many will assume he is rigging his comparison. So many people on the Esk8 forum challenge his work but the reason these people do this is because they dont fully understand all the reasons why Jason made the decisions he made for his boards. Its really funny cause people on the forum are still just discovering the benefits of 10s with the current vesc and the limitations of the current version of the vesc. Even today people were talking about what truely gives more torque in a motor. And the simple answer is the larger the motor equals more torque. Jason has said this many times yet I still see people challenge him. Of course their are other variable such as wheel size, lower kv, and gear ration that affect torque but it comes down to motor size. This is the same with hub motors by the way.
Anyways just give Jason's business time. It will grow. Although it would grow faster if he mentioned BB and other boards more but he want a good and honest image for his company. Jason u a true OG of electric skateboards. Good work!

The Problem: Germany's electronic stores are finally testing electric skateboards in their shops...but you only can buy the yuneec ego.
The yuneec ego has a lot of really bad reviews on Amazon etc...
When they are selling bad products, they will get bad resumes by their customers -> won't order other boards.
Because the ceo of the store is a business expert not a skateboard enthusiast...
So It would be cooler if good skateboard builders would sell their products to these stores and become bigger.
