Some notable animated shows that didn't make the cut (but that I did watch!) All of the anime versions, including Future Avengers, and Spiderman 2017. The video was already too long. There's plenty to say about these shows but not necessarily funny things.
Too long? I was *honestly* expecting to be watching for several hours. (This is why you've never seen me on your other content before btw, if I am late to a video or it has a certain number of comments - as most long form does - I drop a farthing in the engagement well instead of two cents.) I feel a bit odd reacting in a haze of innumerable voices. Though I find you (and yours) very engaging, intelligent, and obviously talented. The candor and vulnerability you can bring is admirable and refreshing in a generation/era known for it's cynicism. See? I warned you elsewhere that I'm overly verbose. TLDR; I'm genuinely interested in this venture and how it will contrast with your "typical" content.
James told me to watch this and I am nothing if not completely empty inside with no wants or desires of my own so I rely on others to make my choices for me. So here I am.
I watched Spectacular Spider-Man as an adult when it was coming out, and I loved it. It’s to Spidey what BTAS is to Batman. Each character clicks, it’s clear they’re setting up long form arcs early on (consider the appearances of Miles Warren and Cletus Cassidy). When Disney got the animation rights to Spider-Man, they cancelled it and replaced it with Ultimate Spider-Man which I can never forgive.
To be entirely fair, it would've been a nightmare to continue the show, as the rights became all tangled up in weird legal stuff given Disney technically doesn't own the rights to the show, but the original team didn't have the rights to make more of it. I honestly think that Avengers EMH was the more egregious cancelation as that was entirely under Disney's watch yet they still canceled it just for the sake of brand synergy (and ever since practically every Marvel show has just been MCU-adjacent garbage).
Hopefully, EMH still has the potential to come back, like X-Men '97 and unlike Spectacular Spider-Man, which we know as being tangled in rights issues, while EMH has none of those issues. @brycebitetti1402

Well, despite not being able to hear the narrative very well (issue on my end) the cadance and tone of their voice, along with well used visuals, including intercut media examples, location changes, and (tounge-in-cheek) interviews/commentators; this was a highly enjoyable watch. ever since we got married, my husband and I have been doing similar projects--watching through every Trek (well, really just TNG, DS9, and Voyager...and Oroville...then we got tired), every disney (and pixar) animated theatrical movie, and every MCU movie and disney+ show in release order...the next project is (maybe) One Piece, though that's incredibly daunting. after a while, the shows/movies do tend to blend together. and it's a strange feeling, watching entertainment because you want to, but also because you're obligated to due to a self-inflicted rule. it does help watching with a partner, though. side note, we just finished the Duck Tales reboot and it's genuinely good. pays homage to the OG as well as every show on the Disney Afternoon lineup, and has a good voice cast and good plotlines. it's also hilarious how they try to reconcile having a money-hoarding billionaire as a beloved protag.
Yes!! I live with both my kids, who are 9 & 7, and my sister and her kids, who are 7 & 10; I'm often watching all 4 kids and see a ton of cartoons. That said, I have a rule against watching unmitigated crap if I'm with them (my sanity is important to me these days, what can I say? 😅). The Duck Tales reboot really is remarkably solid!! I wouldn't be able to tell which one is "the best one" but comic wise, the most accurate is Eaths Mightiest Heroes, it's literally like decades of comics in just 2 seasons
I think a big part of the reason that X-Men and Spider-Man specifically both draw better writers and have better stories is because they have a stated, central, and accessible purpose. I think that's the secret to ANY good media; is to have a central purpose, to have a moral of some kind you're trying to impart. And...like, what's the moral of The Avengers? What's the moral of Thor? What's the moral of Iron Man? They have good stories, but those good stories are the exception rather than the rule. Meanwhile, Spider-Man has always been about the best way to use responsiblilty. X-Men...well, they weren't always about bigotry and the consequences thereof, but since The New X-Men in the 70', they have consistently been at least partially about that. Even the Krakoa era wrangles with those questions to some degree. The really interesting thing about X-Men, the most interesting thing about X-Men conceptually, is that it portrays threats every threat to regular humans as being a threat to mutants as well, and every threat to mutants as being a threat to regular humans. I don't think it's a coincidence that the three most reference X-Men stories are Age of Apocalypse, Days of Future Past, and the Phoenix Saga; all of these demonstrate this idea explicitly.

Ok, the video is more than a week old, so nobody's going to see this comment, which is good for me. I don't like Marvel. Not in a "You prefer DC?" way, or in a "You're above comic books?" way- in a "I've been aware of their products since I was 5, and I'm 56, now" kinda way. As in, never my thing. But I liked this video, because it spoke to something I am interested in: how everything is "content" these days. I do think it's related to the whole "binge" thing. I think it's different enough from how Art was appreciated, and how entertainment was approached that it did necessitate a change in what we call it. But, "content"- I just can't get used to the word. However, I did my own "binge" experiment, and I discovered a few things: like, I was correct that Buffy The Vampire Slayer should have stuck to 5 seasons, but I was incorrect that I'd want to watch it, again. Angel was worth watching, but only on an "episodic" basis. The State was the true successor to the Young Ones, but other "sketch comedy" shows just weren't absurd enough. But, mostly, and most importantly, I discovered that I don't like binges. It just makes stuff I enjoyed less enjoyable.More like work, less like fun. Seems to me that your results were similar.
So. Having gone through all that i understand if you're sick to death of anything related to disney. But I have a small, discontinued show that is honestly my favorite cartoon of all time, or at least shares that with Steven Universe. There's a 1 season action cartoon that aired on JET called Motorcity, made in 2012 by titmouse. I would look up a guide for the episode order bc disney aired it all messed up and it wont make sense otherwise but. I'll just say its one of the biggwst reasons i became radicalized politically and now believe anarcho-communism might be the only way to save us, or at least closer to that. Also its just fun and colorful and has great art and music. Anyway, this was a fun ride and look forward to whatever else you wanna talk about here!!!

00:38 - 00:45 --> cursed cursed cursed!!! Something in my very soul did not like that!!
22:33 - 22:37 --> I really really have got to stop drinking hot beverages while watching, my poor throat doesn't deserve this
One of my favorite things about this medium is that there's a living home for every joke.
@@Iambiginternet It is wonderful! ☺

I feel like the end was a but strange no? I get what you're saying bout how hard it be to say one's the " best marvel show " and the best objectively but for me going in personally? I just wondering what your favorite out the ones you watched was. Felt like a weird premise is all bwl
Don't worry, if I was your friend I would've talked you into doing this
Oh phew
Ultimate Spider-Man is one of my favorite shows besides the 90s Spider-Man and Spectacular Spider-Man
90s Spiderman is the best and I am not gonna hear otherwise or I will throw a tantrum. Give it 90 points
