So today I wanted to take a look back at the old MARVEL animated movies, I myself haven't been a fan of the recent DC animated movies, I feel as if DC have lost their touch, and I think the answer to the dip in quality hides somewhere within the history of the old marvel animated movies :O
I don't really think that the runtime is actually an issue. The Marvel movies here all have about the exact same runtime as your top ten DC animated movies. TDKR is an exception, because it's two movies split up and put together. Batman Year One is actually the shortest. Almost 10 minutes shorter than any of the others. Marvel movie runtime: Ultimate Avengers: 72min Ultimate Avengers 2: 73min Iron Man: 83min Doctor Strange: 76min Next Avengers: 78min Plant Hulk: 81min Thor: 77min DC movies runtime: New Frontier: 75min Wonder Woman: 73min Green Lantern: 77min Under the Red Hood: 75 Apocalypse: 78min All-Star Superman: 76min Year One: 64min Doom: 77min Flashpoint Paradox: 81min

7:25 I’m so sick of Thor’s supporting cast being treated like boring mush. In the comic they are fun and endearing characters but in movies they always the worst part.
Solid Snake same here man, I wish the people adapting the thor comics into films would treat all the players as equal moving parts in a larger story, sort of like how Jason Aaron has in the comics, obviously Thor has the be the prime mover of the story, but his supporting characters have their value too
@@comicbookking3446 it's lazy, its stiff and lacks anything remotely visually dynamic (look at zoom in flashpoint vs hell to pay, you can tell), the premise is okay but the execution is lacklustre, the story is so concerned about being for adults (nudity + a stripper scene) that it doesn't focus on the story, its just a movie that validates adult fans without telling anything coherent.
Marvel animated movies I'd like to see. 60s set iron man animated movie. Xmen:god loves, Man kills. Immortal hulk. A fantastic four movie. Marvels. Kraven's last hunt.
God Loves, Man Kills was from a time when graphic novels were meant to be as movie-like as a comic could be at the time. That had the best story but the most summer blockbuster-esque would have to be Revenge of the Living Monolith. I'd live to see both of those animated on the big screen. It's 2020 so there's no need for a bunch of hero origins. We all know who they are.
Marvel never makes animated movies about characters and storylines people care about. You don’t see DC out here making Martian Manhunter or Dr. Fate animated films. So, I find it odd that we got a Dr. Strange and Ironman before we got X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Spider-Man. I don’t mind them using D-list characters, but I don’t want them to introduce me to a animated Marvel Universe, they are follow up characters. Most fans probably would rather watch a Batman movie more so than a Thor or Dr. Strange film. Plus, everything looks like a cell shaded depiction of The Ultimate Universe. In the mid 2000s, Marvel was completely obsessed with making everything look like The Ultimate Universe, so the films aged like milk. That’s why I’m not so keen on them making everything look like the MCU. Planet Hulk was probably the best film out of all these mediocre animated films.
Same. Though, I enjoyed the Wolverine one slightly more than Thor, though that could be because I was more of an X-Men fan so I was more familiar with the mythos of that film vs Thor.
We almost got a Ultimate War (The first crossover of The Ultimates and Ultimate X-men) and a Thor animated movie, but it got scrapped for Hulk Vs. and Young Avengers. Also, the deal was for 8-9 animated features which is why we don’t have anymore Marvel animated movies (and because the people who worked on that now works for DC).
There was a young avengers movie? Was it the one with ultron killing the adult avengers, or was it the young avengers with people like Wiccan and speed?
It was a really good guide for me, cause in our country these characters weren't so much popular except Spider-man. I remember Ultron scared the shit out of me every time.
When i was a kid I really really liked Next Avengers, and when I watch it today I still don't know if its nostalgia or it being an actual good movie. I enjoy the movie quite a bit, though I still can point out its flaws, (notably the flimsy acting with a couple of the kids) I think my mind isn't clouded here. I think that movie is the best out of the MAU, except Planet Hulk probably. Haven't seen either in a while though.
My favorite part of that movie was when Torren was lifting Ultron into space to be thrown away, her meeting up with Thor, and come flying back down with Thor's armor.
I have Next Avengers on DVD as well as Hulk Vs and I love them. Possibly nostalgia though, because to be honest for me I watched them when I was little and now I love them. Though with Next Avengers I always really liked stories with the children of characters I like, like disney villains or Avengers or anything.
MCU: Terrible at Animated movies. Good with theatrical movies. DCU: Terrible at theatrical movies. Good with animated movies. Honestly there haven’t been one bad animated DC movie ever. Ofcourse it sometimes get repetitive to the point it explain heroes background but damn can’t beat DC animated movies.
@Eli Williams well maybe I thought that before with ultimate avengers but dc is still putting out great stuff while marvel hasn't done any animated movie for a long time, maybe I'll change my mind once the what if series come out
Fun fact: Thor: tales of Asgard and both Hulk vs movies take place in the same universe as avengers: earths mightiest heroes and wolverine and the X-men.
I actually got to speak to one of the animators/editors for the Invincible Iron Man movie. He said it was sad to cut it down because while it was a flawless script, it was almost 5 hours long and they needed to keep it under 2. It was insane.
@@professormccoyspopculturer8345 Unfortunately there was a period of time in animated movie history where that was unheard of and absolutely out of the question. Then out of nowhere it changed. 🤷♂️
Sounds like they could have had a solid TV season. The original Iron Man animated show (at least its second season) had an interesting run, and Armored Adventures was admittedly fun even though I hated the concept of Tony being a teenager. Imagine if this movie was a 10 episode season with 30 minute episodes instead of the shortened 2 hour movie we got.
Personally I think the animation used for Thor Tales of Asgard and Next Avengers was the best. But my favorite of all the Marvel animated movies is Planet Hulk and yes Next Avengers.
Great video! Marvel animated projects I would love to see: Ironman: demon in a Bottle Thor: Gor the Godbutcher Spiderman: Kraven's Last Hunt Daredevil: Born again Punisher Black Panther Doctor Strange: Trials and Torment Marvel's Illuninatti X-men but in the Savage Land fighting Sauron (real Marvel badguy) But deep down I know that I'm probably never gonna see these as long as Disney is running the show :( (well a Marvel fan can dream)
It would be cool to see animated film adaptations of iconic/mature Spider-Man stories in similar styles to the comics they are based on. Like 'Kraven's Last Hunt', 'Coming Home', 'The Night Gwen Stacy died', or the issue 500 birthday story. Would be really fantastic to see, especially since we'll never see a story as dark and mature as Kraven's Last Hunt faithfully represented in live action
I feel like Disney plus could be a decent outlet for marvel to do animated movies that adapt the comics. Most of the ones I’d like to see are Spider-Man and wolverine based. Though Spider-man would be difficult considering Sony own the film rights to the character. My top 3 stories that I want to be made would be Spider-Man: Blue, Kraven’s last hunt and Spider-Man life Story.
They need to start respecting the animation side of things especially darker animated series towards adult fans Disney just believes everything should be MCU related stuff for adults that's why I'm not hype for that what if animated show it's MCU smh good video 💯 DC does a way better job
Ok. I just noticed that you already mentioned What if. I was just glad to see someone else agree. I hope it's good, but they do need to change. Example, Avengers Earths Mightiest was a great animated series. But. DISNEY replaced it with comedic Assemble. I was so disappointed.
@@cardo92w for sure and it was very sad they did AGREED EMHs felt like a love letter to the original golden age of marvel before the woke nonsense and without all of the tokenized characters
I watched these movies around 7 years ago and I had mostly forgotten them. I want to mention what I do remember to bring more positives to light. In Doctor Strange, while it was bland on whole, I did like during the training montage that Strange had to actually work hard to earn the magic. Carrying heavy stones and building walls out of granite. It felt like Karate Kid and it made magic feel like something you really had to work for. I feel like the live action film, while mostly superior, was missing that element when Doctor Strange was learning magic. I don't remember much from the others, but Planet Hulk is by far the best. It's also the most mature in all the series. You repeatedly described the other films as childish adventures which are fine. But that cannot be said about Planet Hulk. The genocide committed with the spikes is terrifying. The bloodshed is brutal. The stakes are grounded and it really feels like something of worth is achieved when you get to the end. I first saw Planet Hulk on UA-cam where is was available for free for a while and as young tweenager I remember being genuinely shocked by how fearless the violence was. Especially when compared to most cartoons I was watching at the time. Out of all the films here, Planet Hulk I returned to at least three times. and It's the only one I could recommend to non-comic book fans as I feel it is telling a story that can be accessible to more than just nerds or super hero loving kids.
Idc what anyone says. Hulk vs Wolverine was an absolute masterpiece. The soundtrack was haunting and gave the erie wilderness vibe as Logan claws through unknown in search of rampaging Goliath. The plot was actually really intriguing as the Hulk losing control has a little bit to do with Logan’s traumatic past but they don’t overdo the exposition and it just simply plays out. The funny humorous scenes with Deadpool didn’t once feel like it belonged in a different film and meshed really well with the overall flow. I also just love e concept of there not being an actual winner between Hulk and Wolverine. It just shows that these two predators are meant for each other to duke it out forever. Loved everything about the film and wish it was longer. If any of the Marvel animated features need a sequel it’s this godly flick.
MCU does start to feel like chapters in a book rather than individual works. Youre watching them so you can understand endgame, rather than to watch the movie. And it started a trend, with movies being made for sequels rather than lone movies concerned with telling their own stories
In my opinion their terrible. They have an absolutely terrible animation style that doesn’t even come close to rivaling previous animators like Bruce Tim and what not. The animation is supposed to based off Jim Lee’s New 52 art style but just end up looking like tacky and effortless. Batman has bent ears and a chin strap, while Superman is wide as shit, and I hardly even reckognized Wonder Woman the first time. She looks like she’s starving. The storylines are very poor and bland and every film is just predictable and pointless. Also the fact that they have the biggest Damian agenda and they nerf Nightwing too irritates me. Damian for some reason is the Tony Stark of this universe and center of attention which makes zero sense. This universe is supposed to be loosely based off the New 52 but hardly sticks to the source material which I’ll say isn’t a bad thing but they just go in a direction that’s completely boring and pointless. They ruined Hush, Court of Owls, Throne of Atlantis, Batman and Son, and Judas Contract which are some of my favorite books ever in DC. I honestly miss the old team that used to tackle DC animation that included the likes of Bruce Tim, Andrea Romano, Jay Olivia, Lauren Montgomery, etc. these people defined what DC animation is with the most praised movies. These same guys brought Under the Red Hood, Tower of Babel, Year One, TDKR, Jeph Loeb’s Public Enemies, and so much to life. They had original music done by Christopher Drake and not the same repetitive theme they play in the DCAMU. DC animation was top tier once and in my opinion was more than capable of measuring dick size with the big bad Marvel Studios but now their just a joke with terrible art, horrendous voice work, and effortless quality not nearly matching some of their predecessors in the animation game. I want the old team back so badly it’s unreal.
What seems underwhelming to me in many DC and Marvel animated movies is that no matter how much the characters differ in terms of costume design, abilities or what they stand for, the way they move, punch or kick is pretty much the same.
The part in Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow where we see Ultron's trophy room is actually more dark then you think. Not only do we see relics from the dead Avengers, but we are shown more in the background. You can't see clearly into them but maybe you're supposed to leave it to your imagination to grow the dread. Those other trophy cases could be holding gear and other things from the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, X-Men, and any other hero or villain who died fighting Ultron.
I think you're too dismissive of the MCU myself. I hear the "they're all the same!" criticism a lot, and I just don't buy it. Far From Home and Guardians of the Galaxy seem pretty different to me, just as Avengers: Endgame feels very different from Iron Man 1, and so on. And really, the MCU movies having internal consistency is a good thing, because for a shared universe, you don't want radically different, incompatible visions, which was a problem that the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy suffered from. Likewise, I actually do think that the MCU does a good job of letting its director's voices shine through in their movies. Captain America: TFA had a different director than the one for the second and third movies, and it has a different tone and flavor to it. Likewise, the Avengers talks like a Joss Whedon movie, Black Panther feels like a Ryan Coogler movie, and so on. So not only does the MCU sometimes choose bigger directors, but I think they do a better job of letting individual director's voices shine through then you and others have suggested. And again, why wouldn't we want internal consistency? I also don't think choosing smaller name directors is such a bad thing. Finally, I disagree with you on Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay and Batman: Hush. Those are two of the better DCAO movies to come out recently, and cherry-picking one negative review on RT for each of them as "proof" that they're bad while ignoring the more positive reviews they got elsewhere, is a little disingenuous. With all that said, I think your criticisms of Iron Man and Doctor Strange are pretty valid, and I especially agree with you that Planet Hulk is the best of the lot here.
Daniel Lauricella I see a lot of people defending the MCU for letting their directors have their own voice for each installment. But, people often forget the mishap that happened during the making of AntMan. Edgar Wright, a well respected director, had this whole vision for what AntMan was gonna be. Though, because what he wanted differed too much from the formula Disney wanted, he was flat out taken out of the project. Disney, in my opinion, doesn’t care for consistency, but more of their profitable formula that they can exploit.
@@angelortiz-uq3if But consistency is still a side-effect of the MCU formula, and a good one. Further, I actually think Ant-Man turned out pretty good all things considered. Is it the best MCU movie? I don't think so, but I do think it exceeded people's (admittedly low), expectations. Besides, the story of Ant-Man's development doesn't necessarily reflect all MCU movies. Again, the directors for the first and second Cap movies were different, and those movies do feel distinct. So different director's voices do shine through in individual MCU movies despite the endless claims to the contrary. I hope people defend them as you say. I guess I've just been unlucky enough that I rarely see it. These days it feels like MCU hate is everywhere online. Personally, I blame Scorcese for giving them someone to rally around.
@@daniellauricella5132 I completely see what you mean, and I will say some movies from the MCU do stand out on their own. But, that's few and far between, and because of the similarities in most of them (due to the formula), I think they just blend in, in a bland way. I honestly agree with what Martin Scorsese said about Marvel Movies and the state of the cinema industry all together. Am I saying all of the MCU is garbage and the death of cinema like all the haters say? Absolutely not, but their flaws are still very present to me.
Man, I remember Doctor Strange. I absolutely loved it back then because it had such art designs. But damn, nowadays, it's kinda saddening to look back at it.
I loved the ones I watched. Dr. Strange, Invincible Iron Man, Thor vs Hulk, and Hulk vs Wolverine. I thought they were all way better versions than we got in the movies. The stories were great to me.
Amazing video! I 100% agree with you about the Marvel Animated films and hope that Marvel learns from them in the future. I was hoping that they would continue with it on Disney Plus but that's unlikely.
@@kkdeveauxgue2784 That's true, but I guess I guess I don't just want limited to just films. I guess we have comics and games but other takes on iconic wouldn't hurt either. I'm just saying that they could benefit from it but that's just my opinion.
Hulk vs Wolverine was amazing the soundtrack felt animalistic and so did the fights which is what u want. The story has flashbacks that gives background information with Wolverine and it’s really cool. And just the end credits too are great the movie really feels like a live letter to the comic
To this day, it’s very baffling Spider-Man, of all Marvel Heroes, has never had an animated movie prior to Spider-Verse. You’d think Marvel would’ve picked him first to be part of the 2000s lineup of movies

spider-man: family business would be a phenomenal 1-1.5 hr espionage/comedy kinda flick and would lay the perfect groundwork for marvel to become an animated film juggarnaut like dc is/was imo
Still disappointed that there was never an animated Spider-Man movie (I know I know spiderverse exists) . Spider-Man works really well in animation and an animated Spider-Man movie that’s tied into a bigger world like the DC animated movies would be amazing
I wasn't aware of the behind the scenes changes at DC, by it explains a lot in terms of why I've sort of lost interest in the DCAU. I enjoyed Flashpoint, but since then I haven't really found any of them stick with me the same way some as some of the older ones.
I remember watching the first avengers movie for the first time and google avengers 2 only to find "Next Avengers" and watching the whole movie while thinking to myself "it's kind of weird they decided to animate the sequel but it's good"
Honestly I do believe Marvel animated movies deserve to be made and I think Hulu would be suited for making those kind of animated dark Marvel movies, but The series like Hit monkey was actually very well done, I just hope that maybe one of these days Hulu should definitely be the one to make Marvel animated movies and series which deserves to have attention

I just realized. Aside from Spiderverse in 2018. I haven't seen a single animated spiderman movie. Ever. Sure there are shows and live action movies. But This is the face of Marvel.
Personally, I think Justice Society: WWII, Batman: Soul of the Dragon, Gotham by Gaslight and Superman: Red Son show that even DC movies made in the era of the old Marvel crew making DC movies are more ambitious than the Marvel animated movies were. It probably has everything to do with Marvel always having prioritized their live-action feats over animation and DC having enough Warner Bros money to try things. When the bonus content for every Marvel feature includes the creators saying, "It's one man's journey," I think they were either not allowed to or not interested in trying anything beyond what could get the movie over with as quickly and cleanly as possible (but I did like Doctor Strange). I do think there was a huge drop in DC quality in everything after Red Hood, though. I imagine it stems from what the creators are encouraged to do and that DC has a lot more one-shots and mini-series outside of continuity to draw from whereas almost everything Marvel is steeped in continuity and harder to make into a standalone tale...But it was probably mostly the higher-ups limiting them.
i think the DCAMU had a better reputation in general perception due to the voice director Andrea Romano, who was also part of the universe invented by Bruce timm and the others. Hence some of the writing was overlooked generally
Dcamu pra mim era o auge das animações da DC teria adorado o lionsgate fazer o mesmo com o universo supremo e adaptar outras fases da Marvel seria ótimo esses filmes voltarem a serem feitos
I mean, all three of the Rami films follow the same formula. Peter’s life sucks at the beginning or middle , the villain has some personal relationship with Peter, and the villain ends up reformed in some way before dying. It wasn’t a bad formula but you’re basically watching Spider Man 1.2 and Spider Man 1.3
I kinda wanna see a TV MA Daredevil animated series like how they wanted to back when spider man tas was in production. They wanted to use that same art style
Nowadays it's weird because DCEU isn't even bad anymore... The suicide squad... Peacemaker... Joker... And things coming soon look really good like the Batman
I have an idea. What if Marvel started making them again? And what if they were all GOOD? What if we got an animated movie for characters such as Nova, Phylla-Vell, Beta Ray Bill, Spider-Gwen, and of course, the big 5. Cap, Tony, Peter, Hulk and Thor. How about an animated movie based on the ACTUAL Ragnarok arc from the Thor comics? With the World Serpent? What if we got an animated movie with Hulk that was REALLY good?
when I was a kid and I saw Planet Hulk I was so excited because I thought that logically, if they were going to make a PH movie, next a World War Hulk movie would of course be coming sometime down the line. Yeah... sometime..
personally I enjoyed Next Avengers but I was surprised they cut Old Man Hawkeye in the film. out of mediocre marvel animations, to me Next Avengers is Top 1.
Sure thing buddy... Dark Knight, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Joker, Shazam. All great movies. Endgame, FFH and Captain Marvel, on the other hand? All trash... You’ve probably not even watched most of those movies. You’re just spitting out regurgitated oversimplified nonsense.

The invincible Iron man was pretty great in my opinion, and I loved how Tony had to adapt to each elemental warrior he fought. I also love how in the end he is forced to use his MK 1 to fight the last elemental, an army of stone warriors, and then Facing off against a dragon..... in my opinion this movie has plenty of badass moments, and I enjoyed how it combined 2D and 3D animation. The ultimate avengers movies were also very great, and Planet hulk as well. I did not care much for the Thor movie, but the Next Avengers was pretty good too. And the dr strange one felt really forgettable, and I’m glad the 2016 one was able to give the story more depth and have more creative uses of magic.
3:23-3:24 I am so glad I'm not the only one to say the same thing about the animations in those movies. It only gets harder and harder to stomach, especially when combined with characters mostly being straight-up mad.
I'll be really honest with you, as kid who grew up reading the comics and watching Marvel Animated movies , I think I enjoy watching the animated movies from Marvel before Disney bought the rights to Marvel. If you look at Marvel movies today , it feels like they're trying to make a family fun super hero movie instead of trying to be like in the comics. I'm not saying making Family fun super hero movie is a bad thing. What I'm trying to say we kinda miss when Marvel took itself very seriously. Kinda like the first X-men films. That's just my opinion though.
Mask of the Phantasm was pre "direct to dvd era", the first official DC animated movie was Superman Doomsday in 2007, MotP, Subzero and others were prior to this era, one day I'll do a video on the older animated movies, especially Mask of the Phantasm.
Curiosity: Apparently, Planet Hulk and Thor Tales of Asgar take place in the same universe as the Earth's Mightiest Heroes series along with Wolverine and the X Men. Also the Hulk vs movies
Lotta misinformation going on here. Flashpoint didn’t mark Liu and Oliva joining the DC entourage. They’d been directing films for them for years, from that so-called Golden Age. Sam Liu directed Year One and All-Star Superman, and co-directed Crisis on Two Earths. Jay Oliva directed the Dark Knight Returns films, some of DC animated’s best, as well as Flashpoint and some of the better films we got out of the New 52 universe before he left WB in 2017. And the runtimes didn’t get shorter. If anything they’ve gotten longer. Before they barely cracked 70 minutes. Now they push 80-90 (though not always for the best reasons). If anything the problem falls far harder on DC’s insistence to crank on 3-4 films a year versus 2. The budgets didn’t just take a hit, the production times were hurt as well, and yet they’re still trying to make them longer. That’s the most likely culprit here. Blaming Liu and Oliva is inaccurate at best and irresponsibly stupid at worst.
The character "Death's Head" also cameoed during the gladiator scenes in "Planet Hulk". Only hardcore and old-aged comic fans like me probably know who he is.😁🤣
latest dcau movies are different for sure but amazing nonetheless. All the characters personalities have changed but in their own way they stil rile up the emotions i used to get as a child. And theyre pg13/r rated...what more can you ask for hahaha
I think Marvel has lots of missed opportunity on doing different incarnations of the characters as DC does with their animated movies and shows. Maeve has lots of different versions and content to pull from but they never want to do it.
While I really didn't like most of the DC animated movies based on the New 52, the stories were based off the comics, Redhood, All star Superman, WW 2009, First Flight. All have different animation styles which makes them feel unique, and dont feel like chapters in a story and feel like single chapters in those characters lifes. They care about the characters, the animated movies looked great, for the most part. DC is not afraid to go R Rated, Disney and Marvel would never do Demon in a Bottle.
Marvel animation needs to go darker, harder, and more mature. Seriously, there's never any blood, no cursing, no sexuality, nothing. Like it's all made for 10 year olds.
It’s sort of shame that Disney is more strict with marvel animated products. Because it was fun to have some of them be more experimental and at times dark, like the Comics, I really loved HULK VS WOLVERINE because is did not hold back on Logan Killing or even the BLACK WIDOW and PUNISHER anime film. They sort of have as much balls as DC animation in its prime.
So today I wanted to take a look back at the old MARVEL animated movies, I myself haven't been a fan of the recent DC animated movies, I feel as if DC have lost their touch, and I think the answer to the dip in quality hides somewhere within the history of the old marvel animated movies :O

God Loves, Man Kills was from a time when graphic novels were meant to be as movie-like as a comic could be at the time.

I would love to see R rated Daredevil movies
Also X-men sagas and Spiderman
WORLD! WAR! HULK!
I personally loved the thor and wolverine vs hulk short movies
I agree. Both, serious
I love the wolverine one. The thor one is decent
Same. Though, I enjoyed the Wolverine one slightly more than Thor, though that could be because I was more of an X-Men fan so I was more familiar with the mythos of that film vs Thor.
Redstreak 94 hulk was fucking Wolverine and Thor up but he was rlly fucking thor up
They definitely need more versus animated movies. Showing classic battles would be incredible.
I feel like Shazam shouldn't have scope, becuase its hook was how personal and street-level it was.

I actually don’t think their BAD... they just seem forgettable and DC animated films seem more memorable.
It's not just nostalgia.
Ultimate Avengers, Next Avengers, Planet Hulk, Thor: Tales of Asgard, and Hulk Vs, are legitimately good movies.
I love next avengers. Good movie and it used my favorite comic villain.

I actually got to speak to one of the animators/editors for the Invincible Iron Man movie. He said it was sad to cut it down because while it was a flawless script, it was almost 5 hours long and they needed to keep it under 2. It was insane.
wow, it seems something quite interesting, and I am sorry that the comment is not higher
They could've done a two part like dark knight returns
@@professormccoyspopculturer8345 Unfortunately there was a period of time in animated movie history where that was unheard of and absolutely out of the question.

DC needs to go back to using Various artists in each film. To whatever story is suitable
The new superman movie feels promising to that extent
Personally I think the animation used for Thor Tales of Asgard and Next Avengers was the best.

My one problem wit MARVEL animated movies is that there weren't enough of them. I was hungry for more and they let me starve.

I like that Marvel feels more like a TV show than individual movies, maybe because I always liked episodic content than just 1 individual things
I don't mind also feeling like a tv show, but just hate the cinematography they use.
Same my dad still has them to this day all them and I remember watching them when I was like early elementary school now I’m 15
Still I love the DCAMU. There are some golden films in that universe.
My favorite is Constantine city of demons

Cover the marvel anime and the spectacular Spider-Man
I think you're too dismissive of the MCU myself.
@Ultra Mega Hype Beast Didn't do it for the likes, mate. But I take what I can get.
@KJ Beast And now I've got 7. ;)

I am so glad I'm not the only one to say the same thing about the animations in those movies. It only gets harder and harder to stomach, especially when combined with characters mostly being straight-up mad.

I feel like they should go back to that. Maybe bring back EMH
I gotta agree marvel animated movies are really mediocre and disappointing
I'll be really honest with you, as kid who grew up reading the comics and watching Marvel Animated movies , I think I enjoy watching the animated movies from Marvel before Disney bought the rights to Marvel. If you look at Marvel movies today , it feels like they're trying to make a family fun super hero movie instead of trying to be like in the comics. I'm not saying making Family fun super hero movie is a bad thing. What I'm trying to say we kinda miss when Marvel took itself very seriously. Kinda like the first X-men films. That's just my opinion though.
Unpopular Opinion:I love the heroes of tomorrow movie and I wish a version of them were in the mcu.
I'd wanna see a video essay on the Dc showcase movies next , love your videos btw🔥
I saw all of these exept dr. Strange and to me best marvel animated movies are ultimate avengers 1&2.
In some weird alternate universe we got a r rated lionsgate marvel zombies movie
Why can’t that be this universe?😢
Batman TAS and Mask of The Phantasm are the best.
All the LIONSGATE Marvel movies take place in the same universe.
Does Spider-Verse(2018) count??
The DCAU is the ultimate DC content.

The character "Death's Head" also cameoed during the gladiator scenes in "Planet Hulk". Only hardcore and old-aged comic fans like me probably know who he is.😁🤣
The Transformers character that no longer belongs to Transformers
Of we are bringing them up, marvel owns circut breaker.
latest dcau movies are different for sure but amazing nonetheless.
Maeve has lots of different versions and content to pull from but they never want to do it.
dc anime is equal to mcu movies..
if dc anime ever switches to marvel...ITS OVER WIT
Super Sic-o but marvel has more anime
@@jermo1470 doesnt mean they good...its not even close
@@suspensefulness
Yep
Some of the more beloved Marvel/DC animated projects barely have any of that.
