I've seen plenty of this technique from top glazing contractors in California, it works well and frequently leaves a superior tooled finish and seal compared with taping results. Thanks for the demonstration.
Polished edge isnt a trade secret. It’s polished because it’s an exposed edge. Your edge Sealed in the channel will have a rough arras as it is unnecessary processing at the factory
Love it, trying to show seamless caulking but stops numerous times and recaulks you sir are expert, maybe less speed and more skill in your next attempt to tutor folks
Lol that is a terrible way to do that. Should always be taped and flat bead. Butt joints are suppose to be pumped all the way through. Quality over quantity.
If any of our guys ever glazed like this, they’d be in big trouble. That corner silicone should have been squeezed through. Quality vs quantity? I’d always choose quality from a home owners perspective.
I caught some of the subs I hired doing this garbage. Immediately let them all go on the spot. Went and redid every shower they did. Customers have no idea what the fly by night crews do. Shame really.
Exactly. They did not have to post the video but they did so to help others. Apparently these guys that critique are ammeters anyhow, as a professional would not be coming to UA-cam to learn, The video sure has helped me , Thankyou.
@@abustanoby Your finger and a razor blade to clean lines up, that's it. Professionals should not be using shims to scrape, glass cleaner on the silicone, or 3 people to install a shower.
What the hell are they doing??? Why can’t they just tool it with their finger. This is unnecessary and I would get fired that day if I did this… holy crap

If you place the shim under the glass within the uc79 clamp you don't see and 1/8" shim in your silicone that looks like an air bubble. #getonmylevel

Real professionals don't use crl or any kind of spray to do top notch silicone work!
Mic drop* lol I’m 23 and can tool without the glass cleaner. It cuts down agents in the caulk. Real caulkers ain’t got to do that
So what do they use?

that's nor the right way do do silicone ,you guys did a mess ,you have to use blue tape on the glass and tile

Straight up. This is way too excessive, not to mention, 3 people to do a simple 90°?! And multiple minutes to silicone?! Blows my mind.
