Never have I been this disappointed to find out someone has no catalogue of videos cause this was one well produced piece. Kudos for a first video, definitely subbed
As cringe as it is, one of the reasons I switched to linux was this subreddit. Also, learning how an OS works on such a deep level kinda makes me feel like a kid again...
7 minutes. it's all it took for you to make your way into my favorites. simple, straight to the point and showing a side of Linux that, I wish more people focused on the subscribe is well deserved here
Here for the first video - this looks super promising. The background, detailed analysis, data, and effort that this video displays makes it truly stand out. I have high hopes for future videos!
Awesome video! You described what attracts me to /r/unixporn and my own (i3) setup perfectly. It's the insane amount of customization and expression of (digital) creativity that makes it great, but the positive community that's purely focused on sharing and admiring each-others personalized setups is what makes it awesome! Your channel popped on my feed out of nowhere, but I'm glad it did. You've earned yourself another subscriber!
Incredibly well made video, everything, from the tone of your voice, to the keyboard sound and that mustache lol, I could spend hours watching content like this
It was nice to see my watch featured for a little. Glad you saw it as a good example of some of the watches on the subreddit. Excellent video overall, I hope the algorithm treats you well.
As others have commented, a really beautiful video. The most beautiful thing about it though is the sound of that keyboard. Please! More details about the keyboard, I want mine to sound exactly like that!
I don't wanna spoil the party, but as a sound engineer, I am 99.9% sure this sound was an effect. I don't see how you could get something this crisp otherwise (at least at the beginning). We do hear some of it in the background tho, so I might be wrong.
@@jas_bataille I'm pretty sure I've heard keyboards like that. But that was in videos from keyboard enthusiasts who spend hundreds of dollars on customizing their keyboards. They do a lot to make the sound just right. They use different materials for the board itself and the keycaps, they use special switches, they lube the switches, they use special rubber rings etc. With all that said, I don't know much about it myself. But I'm pretty sure you can make a keyboard sound this good.

I just came back to your video. I just reinstalled my laptop with Arch and I was deciding what GUI I should use. your video came to mind and now I'm doing something more interesting than KDE. Thanks for the awesome video that reminded me of my early days with Linux and showing me how far it's come. Back in the mid to late 2000s was definitely one of these people.
I don't know how you blew up so fast but I'm so glad you showed in my recommendations. What a nice content tone to have and what a great editing. Instant sub.
That was a very nice video with lovely sound design! Thank you for making a video that is under 10 minutes. I completely agree that it's refreshing to have (mostly) positive comments in a linux forum, from people who just want to share.
I subscribed when I was 5min in the video and clicked on your channel, expecting (and hoping) to see more well polished, well done and interesting content! Keep up the good work and can't wait for your next video
I've been following Linux-enthousiast channels for years and Gosh, this is a burst of fresh air ! I've rarely felt that peace of mind in the community, and even more rarely have I watched videos that take a somewhat sociological angle to talk about the community. Keep up the good work, that's a fantastic first video 🙂
I am upset about the lack of personalization on windows desktop. Microsoft seems to be removing functions more and more as time passes by, and it becomes harder to make changes I actually want. Guh.
You can always try Linux on a VM and see if you like it! Unless you're doing something very Windows-specific that's hard to do on Linux, then it might not be ideal. But if you're mostly doing everyday stuff or things that run well on Linux - it's worth giving it a try.

This is the way you start a youtube channel. Easy sub. I did wm based systems for years but more for usability than dark themes and anime wallpapers. These days I mainly tweak gnome with extensions and settings. There is a huge potential to innovate in desktoo UI. I would love to see people pushing the boundaries a bit more, the tiled wm with top panel is getting a bit stale.
