Nice, I think I can also use this method in Mari. After projecting skin info, I should go extra and follow your steps with layers on top to give more specific characteristic. Inside Zbrush, I like to polypaint just in grey scale as a preview guide for marmoset presentation. How would you approach to create glittering makeup for realistic female face for mari -> marmoset pipeline?

Would love to see a full body tutorial on colour values.... Knees, which are close to bone but still usually have redness go against the rules for faces as an example. I always get confused when trying to apply a broad ruleset.... Great video btw, concise and to the point 👍

I face the same issues. I haven't yet found good resources about how to approach that. Like if the body also has various color zones and how to find them etc. Would help get a more convincing polypaint or even help with texturing in Substance. Since most tutorials are limited to face painting and others are usually creatures of some sorts. I agree with this and would love see a full body tutorial too.

i heard various things on polypainting and im not quite sure. Is it only used for visualization and concepting? Or can it be used in production lets say for games?
Nice and simple explanations by nunez btw :)

It definitely can be used for production.
Especially for games to get albedo, it's not rare to use polypainting.
Are you interested in learning pipeline for games or?..

@@mrnunez3D thanks for answering. i have been testing different approaches and been optimizing my workflow for quite a while now but i never actually got into polypainting because i was uncertain if this could be used in a actual pipeline. so thanks for clearing that out

@@jdsculpts You probably have found out your solutions by now. But yes you can export out your high poly from zbrush with polypaint and in substance painter bake the vertex color to get the same polypaint as a 'albedo texture' There's a tutorial by Michael Pavlovich on this, maybe it will help you figure things out if you haven't already. ua-cam.com/video/627d4DSsDCY/v-deo.html

On 0:54 you say "mask by cavity" byt AO window is open. Which is it then?

Yes, I was referring cavities as the cavities areas. Naturally AO gets those
