Yes, it’s uncanny - almost a bit eerie, how this song has that Tom Petty vibe! I wasn’t sure what the vocal would sound like but Mike really pulled it off and he sounds great!
Mike was half of the songwriting team for the Heartbreakers and half of the vocals. It was as much his style as it was Tom Petty's. God I needed that fix.
@@monkeysgone2heaven1 You know, he won't. But I'm with you- I think a lot of people would love, and respect, that. Sure, Tom did write a lot of stuff alone, but even the tunes that are credited to him solely are interspersed with Mike's influence and music. And I'm sure Mike's voice would compliment all the songs.
When I think of Mike Campbell, I think of a superb guitarist and a thoughtful man. With Tom Petty as his backing fan, after a song, Dylan turned to Mike Campbell and said "that's the most beautiful guitar playing I've ever heard." Of course MIKE was humble and made a nod but Dylan made a point of repeating the sentence with emphasis. Thanks MIKE for being such a down to earth person and such a tasteful player. 0:10
Very cool. I had to look up the history of the place. I learned something today. I recognized Denny Cordell in one of the clips. Do you know who that is playing the red Firebird? Is that Mike?
I went to see these guys July 9 in Cincinnati. I was front and center. It wasn't some lame Tom Petty tribute show... it was Mike Campbell moving on, while honoring Tom's legacy. He played his own music, but he also did You Got Lucky, Running Down a Dream, and, Even the Losers. He put a pause in the middle of Even the Losers... a moment of silence perhaps, a moment of reflection... so powerful. I teared up. So glad I went. It was so much fun and Mike at his best!
Great Song, Great Songwriter, Great Musician, Great Animal activist, Nice Guy. Lucky to have met him. Yeah you guessed it a hero of mine who Dared To Dream!
My wife and I went to The Church studio last weekend before the Heart concert. Took a private tour that was wonderful. The history of that place is amazing. We were there not long after they shot this video and a lot of the gear was still set up. It was magical! My son got to play Dan Folgelberg's piano. God bless Tom Petty!
Incredible video! Well done Church Studio & very well done Mike Campbell~! You're carrying the Petty torch with honor & still projecting your own brand of rock n roll on the world's stages. The roof top shots on this are enchanting!!!!!!
Lot of references to Tom here. But, I think this has a more of a George Harrison feel. I could hear George's voice singing this. Great song. I LOVE THIS BAND!
Looks like Mike & The Dirty Knobs made good use of their time in Tulsa even if tornados cancelled Carny Fest. They played up a storm the night before in Eureka Springs, Arkansas - the power went out briefly but they never quit playing!
Love Tulsa (was home for 44 years) and appreciate the shots of Cain’s Ballroom where many icons of music got their start or played during long careers. Thanks Mike & the Knobs!
Just when you think they couldn’t get any better……THEY DO! My son and I have done two meet and greets with Mike and the Knobs. Mike actually remembered us from a year before and even gave me a shout out from the stage. I still have goosebumps from that night. And Steve Ferone, the New Guy, on drums just rocks!
Steve Ferrone! YES! It makes sense; if I'm not mistaken, it was Mike who endorsed Steve to be the Heartbreakers' drummer after Stan Lynch departed/got fired. I think Mike and Steve first played together with Eric Clapton, and Mike recommended him to TP. Mind you, I wasn't there...
Great to see these guys still making music....Mike Campbell is amazing. Steve Ferrone is just so cool ( THE NEW GUY ) Lance Morrison can rock on bass...and let's not forget Chris Holt, so incredibly talented.
The guitar part sounds like George Harrison in parts. Gives it a Travelling Wilbury kind of vibe as Mike vocal has Petty sound. All really grood. Am i right the band are coming to the UK?
That's a good song. And unusual in that Mike & Co. are doing everything, doing all the mood-setting with MUSIC - with melodies and chords and parts - rather than production. Sure, Mike worked with one of the best songwriters in the business for decades, and he's an older guy who grew up on The Beatles, so it's no surprise. But music this strong and solid - using the full vocabulary of rock songwriting, rather than the minimum - has become the exception rather than the rule, and it's good to hear some.
Absolutely love the new song. Such a different song for Mike enhanced greatly by the Graham Nash harmonies. Amazing how at 80 plus years old Nash still has some of the best harmony chops in the history of rock music. Looking forward to seeing Mike and the band this summer in Wisconsin.
Thank you, Mike. I was feeling down because I heard "You Got Lucky" and that made me miss Tom so much. I was also feeling down about my age - 62 - and all the things I didn't do when I wanted to. But your song is so encouraging. It's really a gift. I saw you guys a few times, but after I got divorced, I didn't go anywhere much for 20 years. But things are different now! I hope you make it to Texas.
Great song and video. You guys are keeping that "Heartbreaking" dream alive. The rest of us out here in America REALLY appreciate it. P.S., the fret board on that Telli needs some love.
Woohoo! Great tune and as a lifelong Okie...what an honor you picked Tulsa for the backdrop! Was lucky enough to see you, Tom and the rest of the Heartbreakers in this fine city in 2014 and again in OKC in 2017.
Simply an incredible song! I was lucky enough to see them perform it live for the first time in Hot Springs Arkansas. We are blessed to have such great songwriters walking this earth.
Pick me up on your way to Sioux City! I'm in Jackson right on the way! My ride fizzled out because of the flood. Is Benmont and Alice coming? I haven't talked to Alice for awhile with all this flood business. Love and hugs! Sue
Great song, great band, great place. Thanks for all and keep it coming. I saw your short paying respects to the great Leon Russell. You define what is great about Rock & Roll
Got my tickets to see them in Toronto on July 16th. Saw them when they were here a couple years ago. Fantastic show. I only missed one TPATH show in Toronto going back to 1980. Can’t wait to see these guys again! 🎸🎶🎵❤
Wow,it's awesone the fact that Mike's voice is so similar to Tom's voice!!! 😍😊 Mike Campbell and Steve Ferrone, two of the best in their instruments!! 🎸🥁
These guys are fantastic. The Tom Petty legacy lives on with this guy.
Sure does.
i SINCERELY think Mr. Petty taught all of us that have common sense ALOT. and these guys got it goin on for SURE
Yes, it’s uncanny - almost a bit eerie, how this song has that Tom Petty vibe! I wasn’t sure what the vocal would sound like but Mike really pulled it off and he sounds great!

@@riodejaneiro664 wow cool
Whew! Sounds like the ghost of Tom inhabiting Mike’s vocals!
Definitely
You can tell... Mick was always in on the vocals, the guitar.... Would Tom say that's some good shit 🎩
Yes, he should do a tour of Mike Campell & the Heartbreakers
@@monkeysgone2heaven1 You know, he won't. But I'm with you- I think a lot of people would love, and respect, that. Mike Campbell - one my top favorite guitarists! Love the band!.....love the song!
I saw Tom and the Heartbreakers 5 times.
Mike is a phenomenal guitarist. God bless him!
🎸🎼🎵🎶🇺🇸🔥
There's nobody better at making the boss look good in the entire music industry! Mike Campbell was The Heartbreakers secret weapon.
My God this guy can still bring out an amazing riff and song.
I’m sure Tom is very proud of you Mike
Truth...carrying on the torch of real rock'n' roll
See these guys live! You won't regret it! Also, love the inclusion of 'Mudcrutch era' footage!!
I have! I second that!
@@robspinelli7815yes indeed,they are fantastic. ☝🎶🔥💯
I fourth that! Best rock show I’ve ever seen with these guys

Love it, and love the surprise of 'The New Guy" Steve Ferrone!
Love Steve 👍🤙
I got to talk with Mike and got an autograph from him while he was filming this video outside of The Church Studio 😁
Best day ever!!!
✌💀👍
Very cool. I had to look up the history of the place. I learned something today. I recognized Denny Cordell in one of the clips. Do you know who that is playing the red Firebird? Is that Mike?
God bless you Mr.Campbell….and STEVE FERRONE!
Mike has worked hard for his fame and he deserves all the positive feedback possible. Keep on going, Mike. Tom is smiling on you big time.❤
Thank you Mike! I was a little worried we all may not see much of you after Tom left us. Thanks for being here and thank you for this song! Beautiful!
The art of songwriting.
Exactly

You met him? Fantastic! I love his vids where he talks guitars…comes across as such a humble man….👍🏴🎸🇺🇸
Is that Ben Tench's mums station wagon. Thanks for reminding us dreams come true and we got to make our good life right now right here
Mike you’re a legend and your band is awesome. Thanks for continuing to share your talent.
Killer! Keep writing songs Mike! We're still listening ❤
We saw The Knobs open for The Who in Portland (it was Tom's bday) i cried like a baby. Wished Mike n the Knobs could've played all night in Portland
This song made me cry. I love Mike as Mike Campbell but he Sure makes me miss Tom Petty

This is a really GOOD song!!! Does sound like Tom is still with US! Great job Mike & Co.!!! 😊
Lot of references to Tom here. But, I think this has a more of a George Harrison feel. I could hear George's voice singing this. Great song. I LOVE THIS BAND!
Funny because i thought the slide guitar had a Harrison vibe and the vocals not so. A Wilbury twist. ..
Omg Steve Ferrone on drums, and that footage from Gainesville to L.A. ,Church Studios . Love it, more plz
Is it Steve Ferrone? Sounds like him so he must have lost some weight.
yes it is Steve

Great to see these guys still making music....Mike Campbell is amazing. Steve Ferrone is just so cool ( THE NEW GUY ) Lance Morrison can rock on bass...and let's not forget Chris Holt, so incredibly talented.
The Classic Rock Band lives on.
Long in the shadow of his former boss, some people don't realize that MC is a fine compser in his own right.
"Former boss" lol no.
Tom is smiling.

The guitar part sounds like George Harrison in parts. Gives it a Travelling Wilbury kind of vibe as Mike vocal has Petty sound. All really grood. Am i right the band are coming to the UK?
Fantastic! Graham Nash for added good vibes! TP spirit lives on! 🎶🎸
Mike is the true spiritual extension of Tom and we are all better off because of it.
That lovely "Here comes my girl" structure. Mike's in the back trying to keep things simple.
That's a good song.
And unusual in that Mike & Co. are doing everything, doing all the mood-setting with MUSIC - with melodies and chords and parts - rather than production.

Somebody nominate this for a Grammy, he deserves it.
Going to see this band july 13 in Midland Mi
July 14 in the Motor City!!!! Stoked!!! Wish Cleveland had been on the tour list but I'll travel to see this band

Great decision to add the Leslie sound to Graham's distorted slide at the end. It balanced out Mike's solo segment perfectly. Great tune
saw them when they opened for the WHO. AWESOME

Thanks for the old video clips Mike. Glad your dream came true as you and all the Heartbreakers shared the love via your musical talents.
Wow! SO good. This is the real deal.
Good tune. Love seeing all the old film footage too. Happy to see Steve drumming.
That's STEVE! Beautiful work boys! Can't wait to hear more!
I love the chord progression in this song…great melody too!
Good song. Played it a few times. The dramatic guitar in the verse changes to cheerfull chorus. Well made. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Groetjes !
Where it all started for Petty and company, Leon Russel's Tulsa music scene Church Studio
I never noticed how much Mike Campbell sounds like Tom Petty when he sings.
Wow he does!
Many years of harmonizing left its mark 👍🏽
I agree.. it’s crazy
Brothers !!!!!
Tom Petty 2.0
Simply an incredible song! I was lucky enough to see them perform it live for the first time in Hot Springs Arkansas. We are blessed to have such great songwriters walking this earth.
Mike and Tom were like brothers. It shows !
Amazing to have written this song. It’s actually positive!!!! 😢
I love the clip of Mike frisbeeing with his dog

Great tune and video. So much history - music history here. Thank you Mike and Marcie and Knobs (and India Grace).
So much respect for Mike. Sounds great! Thank you. The spirit moves on.

Mike is like a fine wine. He just gets better and better with age..!
Sounds great, always a fan of Tom and Mike, very good work 👍
I like it, it's got that chimy bright tone we heard on Boys of Summer and Heart of the Matter. Plus I get a Tom buzz from it. I like it...
Steve Ferrone on drums ! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This song is my life… makes you really think about where you have been, what you have been through and where you want to be. Dreams do come true ❤
Mike can still write a great chord progression. Everyone remember he wrote The Boy of Summer for Don Henley
He write Refugee and MANY more
It's uncanny how much Tom and Mike sounds like each other
Oh how much I love this, Mr Campbell. Cannot wait for the album
I LOVE this !!! come to europe on tour !!!!Netherlands ,germany ,belgium ....

I love it! I will take your suggestion to heart and dream again! THANK YOU! Great song!
The Mudcrutch guitar! The '56 Tele with the B-Bender and plenty of finger grease and gunk to give it that greasy gunky sound.
Always happy to see a new DK song coming out. So cool to meet you in PA last fall after all those years of waving from the audience!
Nice. Chorus really blooms open.
Congrats, absolutely fabulous performance music. Thanks. Good time for you. Excellent music
LOVE THIS!!!
That's a great song! It felt like you were channeling some Tom in that, too. Keep 'em comin', Mike! Lovin' it!
Cool tune!!! Keep 'em coming!
