Really fine performances, and from a technical perspective: props to whoever scouted out the location shooting, and the cinematography and sound design were really spot on. Bold decision to portray neither blood nor guts!
Im not being nit-picky, but would electricity be on in skirmish areas.. and I guess those light bulbs could be 1940. .. I have a light / lamp shop in Ohio USA
The film commission comes to my 78 year old business , so we swap stories. They needed a beat up chrome1970s 14 inch florescent lite , had it. They wanted a 1960s call button for a bosses desk. , they bought 6 to make sure they had right one.. they saw my grandma's 1950s refrigerator we still use and they said they will want it someday.
An excellent film. The uniforms and weapons were spot on. However, I really don't think the para Lieutenant would be popping away with a revolver. Totally useless in a battle., no range or accuracy. In reality officer would have used a sten gun in combat. Also, when the Germans captured the wounded para I don't think they would have just shot him out of hand. SS yes, but Wehrmacht no. As for the poor French farmer I know any civilians caught aiding the enemy were executed.
Thank you for watching the film. I really appreciate your feedback!! Unfortunately, we were short on weapons. The only way to have all of the British properly armed was to have the officer use a pistol only. I wanted a sten, but nobody had any.
Greetings from Germany! I like WW2 short movies, most of all a German youtube series called "Verstaubt sind die Gesichter". I like this movie as well I never heared of Rachel Bartlett before but now I like her pretty much as an actress (and she has beautiful eyes). But the German that the actors speak is absolutely horrible. That's probably why they talk so little. So next time please try to get someone who can synchronize it, a German student for example.
Apparently, they were actually used by the Germans. The one that was in the front of the convoy is a real example that was actually used in North Africa, hence the tan paint coat
We were supposed to do a larger film with a more advanced plot with dialogue etc…couldn’t cast enough reenactors. So I opted for a simpler story. It’s too bad but maybe in the future I can expand it to include the whole story.
The British never realized that there raspberry colored caps were very easy to see.

Choć to tylko film ale pokazał jak nierozgarnięci w wojence byli angole, i chyba nadal są.

I have been unable to find any information about the history of that shape of lightbulb. But I agree, it's unlikely they were around in 1940s France.

Who was the technical advisor for this film?
Listed in the credits.
Encore un bon navet !!!!
As an Aussie, as an NCO I can't imagine sitting down and eating in front of my diggers like that. Men first, rank after.
Exactly! It speaks to the CO’s character that he would sit down and eat without letting his men eat first.

The Allied soldiers look pretty old!

Why those two Britons are running without weapons. To me their caps are not well represented as elite British soldiers.
