From $100k Job To DoorDash, UberEats, & Grubhub

- In this video, I talk about how I went from a decently good paying job with great benefits to becoming a DoorDash, UberEats, and Grubhub E-Bike Courier. Food Deliveries with an ebike was never part of my plan, but I'm glad I'm doing it now as it makes me happy and provides me the freedom I enjoy.
I know exactly what job you’re talking about. I have a 23 y/o friend who’s in the field too and he hates his job. The good pay and benefits are one thing but the stress and misery that come with that job can seriously ruin someone.
@@khanrides yup…I’d rather take a pay cut than to do something I hate. Cause being miserable everyday really changes who you are as a person
Most people hate their job, even people making $32k. For $92k, I'll stick it out for a minute.
@ you gotta remember he lives in California which is one of the most expensive and high tax states in the country. 92k in California or NY vs a state like Texas are two different incomes.
@@gregmadison556until it gets to a point where u not only hate your job, but your coworkers, and the rest of the world and you go to a very very dark place.
everyone is wired different. you piss off the wrong coworker or classmate and you never know where that person is mentally & emotionally
@@photonbeams80 Quitting a job because it's stressful and you don't like your co-workers is not always the answer. I quit a job before because I couldn't stand my boss. I regretted doing so and should have planned things out better.
Thanks dude. Didn't realize what these emotions were until you talked about your job. They are exactly how I'm feeling now; just needed someone to validate it and feel the same way. I think it's time for a change for me as well.
@@gamemaniac22 there’s more people feeling the same way than you think. People just don’t talk about this stuff. Stay strong and good luck my friend
I got in Amazon as a dsp driver, I was desperate I been out of the work scene for 8 years taking care of my boys while wife works as she makes more money. Anyways as I got to Amazon and did all my training I finally got to do a delivery and at the end of the shift I cried and got depressed and I quit the next day. I already signed up for uber eats but didn’t start yet. So I started the following day and loved it!!! There’s days it was slow but you gotta work for it, love not having a boss and having freedom to stop and go and see my family incase things occur.
@@Jomievolution8 yea I hear working for Amazon is rough. Glad you made the switch man!
I appreciate your transparency. You did the right thing. That has always been me in life, but when I finally retired and left the market. I feel free and as long as I am moving and not stagnant, I feel alive.
What's up bro this is Billy! I'm proud of you for choosing you and you are better for it.
I would have never put your voice, with your face. You are a good man, and that is all that matters. Thanks for sharing.
@@robertconnors9075 yea I’ve gotten that before. I probably sound like an old man that’s been smoking all his life 😂. thanks for the kind words!

@@Raspyrides 😂 kinda
totally agree! 🧐
@@Raspyrides haha when you got on camera i had to call the wife so she could see. We watch you while we eat sometimes and she totally thought you were a big white guy for some reason. 🤣
Agree, brother. Freedom is priceless.
I do delivery in Seoul and make same money working less than office worker for 8 hour shift.
Main thong here: you have no one above you. You are your own boss. You don't sell your time to others for money. You have fun riding and collecting tokens (money) and completing missions.
I love to ride a bike.
I also have full wheel drive. Two 500watt hub motors two separate batteries of 52v and total 68 amps. Climbing hills like pro.
Good luck brother.
@@IshkalShow another bonus is that you always see something interesting when your riding outside. It is a thousand times less boring!
Panic attacks are a real thing.. I’ve had them for years riding my ebike makes them go away. dude loved this video and getting to see you in person
@@TheTexasDuke I agree..riding definitely makes the stress disappear for a while. Thanks for watching!
Excellent video! You show a kindness and a vulnerability that most people simply don’t have. I’m recently coming off a job in which I made 6 figures. I “quit” when we got new management and it was clear that they didn’t want me there. I was under so much stress that it made life difficult to enjoy.
I’m not sure what I’m going to do now, I’m 48 and it just seems my best days have passed me by. Perhaps I will start dashing/uber eats. Thank you for your video
@@TheEndofSomething-m3d ORRR you can think of it as now you have so much experience that you can apply it elsewhere. Thank you for the kind words and good luck
Thank you for your sincerity. I am sure many people needed to hear this 💪🏻
DISCLAIMER: Before you hit 'sign up,' know the real cost of gig work. You’ll cover all your own expenses-gas, maintenance, insurance-and only get paid for the time you're actively working, not for waiting or driving between gigs. Your hourly earnings could end up below minimum wage after expenses. There's no health insurance, no job security, and you can be deactivated at any time. Gig work can be flexible, but it’s not always fair. Do the math, read the fine print, and know what you’re signing up for.
thanks for showing courage in talking about this. not many men would be willing to be as vulnerable.
@@R0CKAFELLA hopefully it can help others. Thank YOU for listening

Wow, I thought this was actually someone else in the video. Didn’t expect that to be you! Thank you for talking about MENTAL HEALTH. I struggled with similar thing while I was working, now I’m WFH & doing gig delivery. Riding outside has helped me!
@@iUnicornTv yup…felt like the video wouldn’t hit the same if I hid my face. i bet working from home also gives you an amazing sense of freedom as well 🙌
Mental health is always important. To me not everyone could be sociable those days because of the internet, stress at their jobs, and etc. I'll like to share this, my friend used to be a youtuber and streamer posting content on Nintendo games and blogs from 2010 - 2022, long story short he almost suffered from mental stress due to social media bullying, now he is working on pay jobs such as retail, and etc.
@@airbourne35 I felt like I knew I would be bullied by my voice which is why I named the channel “Raspy Rides”. I took the power away from people by naming my channel that
@Raspyrides And i have a question, do you think long range ebikes like aniioki brands is the good start for people who wants to try and work for delivery app jobs?
Thanks for sharing that! Yeah I had my own little photography business, but when Covid came, I lost it, had to move out of my 2 bedroom apartment, and had to sell my SUV, lost it all, and the money I did have saved up was gone after a year, so since then I have to start 20 years of saving up for a business, to start over working in a corporate owned restaurant, and in these times, barely getting by week to week! But yeah lately I have been thinking of suicide, and just giving up, because at my age now 57 I don't think I will be able to get back what I had, or be able to save up for a future! But I survived like many and even tho I feel like shit, man I have a daughter, and I want to have something to give to her to help with her future in school! So after seeing your video, I realize that I just have to hustle in a legal way of course and keep moving forward! Thanks bro! 👍🤙
@@romeos.ellorin6645 having something or SOMEONE to give you a reason to fight the struggle is a huge help. Anytime you get those bad thoughts, just think about how the only thing your daughter cares about is you and not the money you’re making.
yea delivering definetly gives a sort of freedom that i like

Similar issue 5 years ago. I was a manager at a dealership where i was working long hours and dealing with angry customers all day. 640am to 11pm for month end. 14 days straight at times. I can identify with your feelings about your previous job. Back in the '80s I worked in a government job and although I liked the part about working with the community, the culture in the department was such that I was at odds with my boss all the time. I wanted to serve the public and he wanted me to rule them. It got to the stage where I was dry retching every morning before going to work (we didn't have 'anxiety' back in the '80s). Eventually I left the job and went into self employment working with people and computers. I never made heaps of money but I was free to do as I pleased and my wife and I still managed to work together to bring up 3 children (now we have 7 grandchildren and 1 greatgrandchild). Follow your enthusiasms is my best advice.
Dangg bro it took hella courage to get out and be free! Thx for sharing brother
@@iamalemontree it was definitely an intimidating process to leave. Thanks for listening 🙏
Bro... I'm doing the same thing over here. And just like you said , you can't do this forever but as of now its a very great way to make money if you know what you are doing . Phase one of the plan before the exit strategy comes to fruition.
@@RabelAracena yup…even though we gotta work on the exit strategy, I’m still enjoying my time right now. Gotta enjoy the present while it’s good
We didn't evolve to to be inside 8 hours a day doing meaningless "work". At least with food delivery you feel like you're really making someone happy, or at least doing them a favor. The result of your work is directly visible whereas in megacorp it's not. And I'm sure for you being able to do it on a bike also contributes to the happiness. Motorcycles/bikes are the best way I've found to feel alive.
I hear you on the exit plan but honestly I don't think I could go back to working inside all day so apart from starting my own business I'm not sure what else I'd do. It's good money to do something I like doing.
@@johnnycash8447 yea I’ll definitely never work an indoor job. It just isn’t me.

Profoud what you said at the end. You need a job to live but a job that doesn't make you want to live is a death sentence. Do a full review of your bike, it's looks very good.
Great video. I felt that part about being told what to do. Only reason I feel like I can't do gig work forever is the illegals oversaturating the job in my area. Difficult to get schedule/hours now because of these guys and they will accept every order. You still workout?
@@MisterSal9895 yea I see them around my area too. The way I see them treat restaurant employees also annoys me. I do still workout but it’s a lot less than before
