Using A FarDriver Controller W/ Stock Motor and Battery | Caroma P1 Upgrade

- In this video, we do the 1st upgrade to our Caroma P1 Scooter. This cheap scooter from Amazon has dual suspension and makes a great platform to modify for more speeds. We'll be using a fardriver controller for this video, but the next part to this series will involve a 72v battery and 5,000 watt motor.

I'm glad that you are modifying your Caroma. I have one of these and looking forward in seeing what can be achieved this build.
@@DAVexpeditions this is definitely going to be a fun little build. Hoping to achieve 50’s mph range
@@RaspyridesHey, Raspy
Do you think 3-wheel scooters are safer to use for food delivery?
Can you do a video about them, to see in action?
Hey raspy, I just checked out your store after watching this video! It’s pretty cool that you’re offering support to your Far drivers! when I decide to upgrade the controllers on my RoadRunner Pro, I’m coming to you brother !!
@@sprz97 I’ll help as much as I can for hubs. I don’t know anything about mid drives though lol. Thanks for checking out the store!
@ oh yea I only mess with hubs!
That looks perfect for store runs
@@TheTexasDuke it is especially with that little basket in the back
Speed defined by voltage. Amps play its role in power. But even if ones put 50, or say 80 amps but feed 20 volts your speed won,t go up.
This is awesome.
@@AllisonMagicElite thank you!
Excellent Caroma build series. I'm excited for this. Have you given any thoughts into turning the rear basket into a box? So your controller and other upgrades can be installed there?
@@SooooWhatsNext I like keeping the basket free and open so that I can put stuff in there. I think the controller will fit great underneath the deck area
👏👏👏👏bro love watching you take shit apart and mod away!!…make it your own bro…do you miss your X-class?…I still ride mine now 72V3K @60 amp controller!…come back to the dark side lol⚡️🤘
@@svencouture2598 I definitely miss the xclass! It’s one of the best bikes to mod in my opinion. I always regretted selling it but I think I needed to move on to help this channel grow
Crazy 🤪
Maybe would've been a better idea to start off with the Caroma P3 instead for a higher capacity battery and higher performance motor.
what affects the top speed is mainly the way the motor coils are wound up, the diameter of the wheel, and mainly the voltage.
Motor RPM is directly related to voltage, but in certain scooters will never reach those theoretical speeds due to an amperage limit.
Tldr to say that it's not always so simple, but if you do raise everything, it will definetely go faster 😂
@@liarus true but MOST of the time, a stock set up is never pushed close to its limits. Almost every bike or scooter with a hub, can always go quite a bit faster
I’m kinda worried that the frame of this scooter won’t be able to handle 72V 50mph + power. I know some local guys who’s roadrunner pro v1 frames broke and that’s a 60V scooter. However, Cali has significantly smoother roads than NY so the chances of frame failure are less.
@@khanrides only one way to find out! lol
Does that have a 10 or 14" wheel? You should up it to 60V and make it dual hub motor. I do that same thing with my battery cables before I splice them; tape them off.
@@ELECTRICBIKEDIYLIFE 14in wheel. It’s eventually going to become 72v within the next couple months
"14 inch wheel" in bicycle measurement, so 14inch OD tire, 10" actual wheel.
Those speed odometer very unstable. Not sure that looked or felt 30mpr.
Hey do you think this controller can be used for the aniioki aq177 48v version to get more torque and top speed?
Yes I do! You would just have to find a different light source or use a dc converter. I just reccomend a light bar from Amazon that’s way more bright than the stock light anyways
Andy what speedometer app do you use
@@dharrelkabiling3176 the app is just called “speedometer” in my App Store.
Bro how do I go about customizing my bike ? I have the engwe l20 2.0 and I really wish it didn’t have a speed limiter on it . Theres no way to remove it . I’ve searched everywhere. Would aslo want a bigger batter on it for more range . I have zero knowledge when it comes to stuff like this which is why I ask you .
@@OzaruPrince I would get a 72v battery made for it and pair it with a FarDriver. You could probably use the stock motor if you do what I did in this video
Do you think I can a far driver on my eahora juliet to get better speed
@@SurRonnie yes I do but geared hub motors can wear down quickly if you use too much power.
It's rare for a motor to have a white temp sensor wire. Especially at that price.
@@jaybones614 I know right?! I was super surprised
Bro I got one for my daughter man that thing slow and weak it's very bad going up hills I just want it to go a lil bit more harder like go 20mph and stay it's for my 12 years old daughter so it doesn't has to be a beast
@@HannibalSahura yea it’s such a great little scooter…just needs a little bit more umph!
@Raspyrides facts it's for my daughter so I don't need it to be a monster lol
Jalopy for real; manufacturers are really underperforming & overcharging.
If you’re not hands on & resourceful then you’re cooked!
Caroma’s a great concept, just limited.
any charity guys
need a bike to work delivery
my max is 700 but need longest range
I wouldn't recommend modifying the speed over 20 mph. That is all that frame and brakes can handle. Doing so would be very dangerous. If you want to go any faster, I would get a full size bike with good brakes. I have a background in racing road bikes. It always scares me when I see unskilled people riding above their limit and endangering everyone around then. And I hope you are always wearing a helmet. Brain damage is no fun.
boo
There are scooters out here that can do 80.. 30 is nothing... Razor ele6dirt bike are made to go 20mph.. people modify them to do 50+.. I say and even u say,, its the skill of the rider and not the vehicle, bike, scooter.. how do I know he doesn't know how to ride.. dude has another scooter next to the one he is working on, so chances are he knows what he is doing and Raspy is a well known builder of electric bikes and scooters on UA-cam
@@jonlee580 Basically my comment is really geared at this channel's viewers. I really don't like the fact that his modifications make things go faster than they were designed for. What I really don't want happening is some 13 year old following this channel of modifications only to kill themselves in the process. I know a lot of young people do stupid things, but I would rather not see them dead.
Dude i like watching your videos but you never gear up enough. If you hit some crazy top speed then eat sh*t on the tarmac then its a hospital trip and you live in America so thats like bankruptcy for most people. Even at lower speeds, grab some proper bike gloves, a jacket and something more than that helmet i have seen you use.
Its not necessarily going to be you stacking but you ride around cars and im not doing I'm older than you thing and know better it's just that riding two wheels for years things can happen and car drivers suck. Zero awareness skills 90% of the time car drivers
