I've seen so many other dashers see no benefit to the high tier status like Platinum on DD. I've been rocking a solid 18% AR and I still get to schedule myself when I plan on it, I still get offers for $20+ randomly. Only benefit I see at my AR is my mileage is down, and pay per hour went up. That's just my market and my experience though.
@RandomGamerCory in my past market, EBT wasn't too bad. I was offered $14/hr and usually averaged $22/hr due to getting good tips 20-40% of the time and always getting orders back to back. The longest drives were about 10 miles and averaged around 5 miles per delivery. Keep in mind that longer drives help out with increasing tax deductions. It does a bit more wear and tear, but that is part of the operation you run and need to set aside money for yearly maintenance. As of today, I'm still on track to owe nothing on taxes due to the higher milage offset.
Yes, especially taking the orders from the restaurants with the careless and borderline rude employees. I've been door dashing and working uber eats fulltime for almost 2 months now, and it just get get worse and worse. The freedom of working on your own time, and not having a boss is great, but it just make you wonder sometimes is it really worth it.
Hi Charlie! Glad to hear you've finally accepted the fact that you are worth so much more. DD has been a stepping stone for a long time. Things have changed, apparently not for the better and it's time to move on, however fast or slow that may be. Good luck! 🍀
I schedule short times in case I need to cancel like 9:30-10:00 & 10:30-11 etc Jumped on twice this morning no schedule half hour each time made $29 lol coffee runs
I had the same thoughts and tried two times to not care about platinum and once I declined to silver, I declined twice as much crap orders and no more high paying orders, it was so brutal and I missed platinum so much. Then if you decide to go back to platinum ,DD will put you through the biggest struggle in your life to get back to it
A couple of months ago I stopped caring about my AR and dropped all the way to 27% and it was a nightmare. Could barely make $100 within 8 hours. It was brutal
Amazing how different the market can be on different sides. I'm down here in the Happy Valley-Clackamas zone, and this last weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) I averaged $24.90/hour (full Dash time, not just active time), and $1.75/mile (from leaving the house to getting back home), and my AR is sitting at 93%. My last three weekends have been good, albeit not quite that good. This weekend out of 48 deliveries, 26 were shopping. Your strategy of scheduling might help. While Platinum drivers almost always can get online at any time, by putting yourself on the schedule, you may be preventing one more non-Platinum driver from getting on, which means less competition for what orders there are. I agree. I made it to Platinum to try and see if it got any better. On platinum for 4 days. $19.55 per hour, not bad, but the miles, oh the miles at 71 cents per mile, and my need is about $1.25 to break even, this means I was losing money. I did that on pay per order. I'll try next on platinum for pay by time to see how that goes. Non platinum pay by time was 1.14 per mile at least.
After I’m done with this 50 state challenge. If the order is not paying at minimum $8. And that’s only for low miles. My car is not moving. $1.45+ a mile deliveries only. $8 minimum.
I run spark as my main. DD,EU,Insta cart, deliver that, roadie, GH in the background for more cherry picking options. I'll split the cpu power between two phones with my main phones Hotspot 😊
I agree. I stopped caring about the tiers. its like i am not going to take your bs $2-3 to go 20 miles. I hope alot of people stop caring and they get rid of the system all together. doubt it will happen
Found out today I can get a "high pay order" of $7.50 for 1.5 miles on DD with a 17% AR. 😂 I'm not taking those other trash orders. UE is my main one... was slow around 3pm... so went on DD for an hour. Made $17.50 (pay per order) and drove about 5 or 6 miles total. Oh, and no peak pay on that hour... but they do pay boost of $2.50 to 3.50 on weekends from what I've heard from others in my area.
I too ditched platinum. Orders no better, have to take crazy far distance things when I need to stay local in that moment. I would keep the app off for fear of needing to decline an order in a certain direction I was needing to go. DD hopefully realizes this.
Most people don't know how low the base pay is, and most non tippers wouldn't even care anyway. Now adays, why tip your order gonna be picked up anyways with all these stupid programs. Back in the day, it would get picked up, but when delivered, it was cold, hopefully.
I dont know how dashers are suffering this is why I only schedule 3-4hrs with a murphy law hr for any bs. I only work early morning to to lunch depending if its busy I can read the writting in the wall with the orders I get so that determins if i stay or go home I also go out at night for 3hrs 2 basically with the 3rd being my murphy hr sometimes I work 4 on fridays if its busy but i multi app but its been hard since uber started with their bs. I work everyday no need for days off with how little I work. It sucks gone are the days where I made $125 a night driving from 5-10pm every weekday I cant even do that with the long wait times in between. I have been approved for rideshare and I will be doing that in between or even replacing food delivery completly for the weekand. Stay strong fellow gig workers stay strong.
every market is different -(I am in Saratoga Springs NY) and I dash at night after my job - try to make an extra $300 a week - but I have had better luck with better orders with the new joke of scheduling rules - I grab a 5:00pm - 5:30pm shift, then it always allows me to stay out as long as I want... and get peak pay a lot of times... seems like it may have backfired here on them...
I’m gold status. I have a full time job so I only do DD and Spark part time. My acceptance rate on DD IS 73% but because I do it part time I can’t maintain the 100 deliveries criteria. Plus, Spark normally gets my priority over DD.
What gets me with these deliveries is apartment buildings. It is ridiculous! Some of them are mazes. The other day i almost called the police because I couldn't find the exit of a building, felt i was being false imprisoned... took like 10min to exit... crazy!!!
You know things are bad when Taco Bell has to put a giant sign on the counter saying they take cash....well yeah this America you have to take money as payment. We live in the twilight zone.
I stopped caring about my AR and now I make more than ever. Did $110 in 4 1/2 hours tonight, $115 in 4 hours last Thursday with an AR in the 30s. Most from DD, some from Uber Eats and Grubhub. And these are regular weekdays. Weekends are even better but I haven't worked one in awhile
I did the same thing. I busted my can to try to keep platinum. I lost it a couple days ago because I didn’t dash for a couple days because family was in town. And I’m like screw it. I started scheduling myself.
I've made my highest week ever at over $500 by cherry picking.. I'm at a 16% AR.. My biggest order was $27/12 miles which turned into $47.. Screw platinum!! Dropped that in September..😁
I've not dipped below 70 AR since the new program went live in August. I'm looking forward to seeing if you notice a difference in the quantity and quality of offers you receive.
Have you ever received an email about being a “pro shopper”? I know you’ve got priority on shipping which I have aswell but 3 weeks ago I did way more shopping orders than usual(40~) and come that following Monday I got an email from DD saying I was in the pro level of shoppers, would now see even more shop and delivers(which I have) & they’ve given 100 every Monday since as an incentive to keep doing the shops I’m assuming. Pretty shocking considering how cheap dd is lol
I schedule days l think l can or will dash. Do it in 2 hour blocks that way of l want to do a break l can. Or in hour and half. It will let you start 15 minutes early. Alot less stress my AR stays mid 30's to high 40's and l still get good offers and same amount of crap orders. You will do better l think. Schedule so you have multi shifts so you aren't committed to hours
I was at 12% and gained my way up to 80% and it slowly went down to 72% and I took some BS a couple of decent ones but I haven’t seen big orders yet and it’s been 2 weeks as a platinum driver and now I’m at 74% gonna try to stay above 70% but also try to get it in the high 80’s and man this shit been hard because the higher you get in percentage the more BS they send 🤦🏾♂️😂
Im baffled to see such a seasoned dasher who actually chases those reward levels. They are complete bs 1000%. Accept good orders decline bad. Fuck AR%. If it ain't making me money im.not taking it. Multi app only way to go for full time work
@ no actually I’m in a great market but after 20k deliveries on these platforms I have come to realization that the only number that matters if you do this full time is the amount of money you made at the end of the day!!!
i remember when mt st helens blew up we had ash all over everything, cars, driveway, roof, and i lived 45 min south of San Francisco Calif at the time, the ash came down that far away
I experienced the same issues with the Taco Bell in my area. Employees are clueless. I try to avoid Taco Bell unless the pay is really good. I am on pay by time and they could take their own time and preparing the food.
The fact that once a person is in platinum, their AR still drops and they still take bad orders to bring that AR back up, just like someone who cherry picks, is proof that it doesn't work.
100% agree, the only way I could possibly keep platinum is with EBT but never available anymore. Have fallen below silver as of today and it gets worse every day. Sent me an offer today going 19 miles away from where I am and about 22 from home for $17. No chance of getting anything back towards home so actually about 40 miles and at least an hour. On top of that it’s about 16 miles from restaurant to house. How on earth can I be the best dasher available, be penalized for not taking it, letting someone order from that far away, and why would you order from that far away. Had an order I picked up that it was slice when I picked up. You would think DD would have made us aware!! And hard headed and 2 condums lolol
It's about time! Welcome to the dark side! :) I'm on the NE side of Washington. I have never had a problem with Dash Now at lunchtime or scheduling myself. I scheduled myself for tomorrow a few days ago. I think I'm at 43%. Full transparency though, DD is my backup app. I much prefer Spark and UE for my area, so I'm not real concerned about all the perks. I don't know if you watch Meaty Mama or not but she hovers in the 20-30% range and she solely relies on UE and DD when she's out.
I rarely get an order that is under my $/mile mark in my market maybe 1 or 2 per shift and my acceptance rate stays around 73-80%. I’m still making anywhere from $20-30/hr
And in my area I do much better on EBT. As I said never available so must have everyone doing the same. Usually making at least 5 or 6 dollars and no stress. Walked into little Caesar’s yesterday $8 3 miles. Will be be at least 10 minutes, haven’t got around to making it. Unassigned, too bad not EBT. As I have said a hundred times really need to change the platform for minimum pay and minimum tip.
New directions update with the red Continue icon and gray Directions icon underneath is HORRIBLE and will not let you complete a delivery when you hit Continue and App GPS thinks you are in wrong location. It will say you need to be in the correct drop off location to deliver and you can hit the red Contact Support or now a gray I Got It icon to try the Continue again to take a picture and complete delivery, but you CAN"T ever complete the delivery. You now have to try and navigate the AI chat support, or call support directly to complete the DANG delivery. This happened to me at a Casino Hotel that had a super long wing that put me outside the recognized delivery address!!!!!!!! There was even a picture of a previous successful delivery to the same exact room for this customer, so why did it work for that Dasher but not me? I bet the customer was staying at hotel for more than a week and ordered food before this new update went into effect last week.
The last time I did EBT I drove 24mi over the course of an hour, received $0 tips, and had only $11 dollars to show for it. Naturally I did that so that I could sustain Platinum, but after that it just wasn't worth it to me anymore. I now make far more cherry picking then I ever did taking low/no tip offers just to keep Platinum.
Oh man I used to stress myself about keeping that platinum status all because I thought I just had to have the dash now option. It just got to a point that it was unattainable unless I want to dash every damn day and I don't want to! Like you I did ebt alot, I did average more hourly but oh the miles. Now I don't care.
Taco Bell is horrible here. I had an order consisting of four burritos take 20 minutes (was on EBT, thankfully) while two customers who ordered AFTER me got served first. I stood there watching about 15 cars go through drive-thru. Three employees getting those drive-thru orders out quickly, but only one guy working inside line at a snail's pace. The cashier stood there with his hands in his pockets.. said he wasn't allowed to help.
Year over year I’ve seen my mile and hourly decrease significantly and then in the last year have seen my acceptance rate decrease. After working to increase my acceptance rate I still have seen profit less orders and decided screw them all and now will only accept orders that allow at least $17 an hour within a reasonable mileage and more money in accordance to mileage. It makes me feel somewhat better to know I’m making at least chipotles starting wage.
Lived out there for 5 years (Longview) and Mt St Helens was my favorite place too…and Long Beach. 2 pm to 2 am on Long Beach was a good time. …. But alas I moved back home to Ohio and although it’s pretty here (too me anyway) there really aren’t any outdoor places I can say I LOVE to go here. I mean other than my own 2 acres which is pretty good. 🤷🏻♀️ I really do miss those fkin majestic places out there. My husband watches you for the door dashing. I watch for all the wet pavement and hoodies and cozy PNW feels. 😊
dont forget , technically your suppossed to carry a line of commercail insurance to do this work,. some of the gurus about this work said no regulation to this type of work, but the governemnt should finally step in an regulate this, they are just bypasssing minimun wage laws with this., im still paying the gas bill from doing this 3 years ago.
Doordash's new pilot program is yet again limiting scheduling. If you aren't at least silver you can only schedule one day out. If they roll this out everywhere, say goodbye to scheduling 5 days out, unless you are platinum. Platinum can schedule 6 days out, gold is 3 days out, silver is 2.
What a terrible thing. And with platinum you shouldn’t have to schedule. You should be able to dash whenever you want. You shouldn’t have a platinum level AR and then have to fight to get on a Dash for the day
@@bigc2626 Platinum still has access to dash now, "if available". I don't think they changed that. Platinum is also lord of the schedule now, they get to see it 3 days before the lower tiers. I wish I could post the link to the reddit thread about all this, I don't think we're allowed to post links to other sites.
In my market, you'll be lucky to even get a no tip order with a low AR. Every time I drop under 50%, I'll find myself sitting in a hotspot for 30-45 minutes waiting for an order to pop up on my phone, while drivers on higher tiers keep coming and going. The only reason I chose platinum is because of the laege order program. There have been times I made between $25-45 per hour off catering orders.
And this is the emotional nonsense that Doordash inflicts on its dashers. I'm surprised you don't switch to another app and save yourself the mental anguish.
What they should do for platinum is raise the base pay for the platinum drivers. it would give more incentive to keep your AR up which is what they want right? it's really that simple. Raise the base pay and your drivers will have a better AR. But instead they just want to play games with their drivers and treat us like crap. All that being said I'm only in my second week of this so I really don't know anything. But I'm making about $20/hr after subtracting fuel costs in my area so it's actually good so far and I'm happy with it. 121 total dashes, 83% AR and already platinum which seems really easy to keep in my area. I think I'm just lucky in the college town I live in. it's in the middle of nowhere but still works somehow.
I’m noticing on platinum. You do get priority when order pop up and dash now. 60% of the time they give you the 12-20 miles for 10-18$ also shit orders too at times. Now when I’m on gold they only give you 1-8 miles and most times it’s 3-5 miles for 3-7$ orders. I’ve been bouncing multiple times on platinum and gold. I think gold is much better because it saves you mileage and gas. For gold to work you’ll need to be at least 1-3 miles away from any store that is dropping orders. They won’t give you far out order like on platinum.
I dropped to Gold a week ago back at Platinum now..but I swear I made the same if not better. I finally made it on Spark..its nice to have variety now. I will probably drop back ro Gold by weeks end..I'm chasing the money not the orders 😂
True, but dont forget about taxes. I will let $1/mile offers slide here and there to keep busy and to deduct taxes. Otherwise you'll end up paying a ton of taxes, only accepting the highest paid offers.
That would be my dog, trying to remove the door from its hinges. And yes, she does need Prozac. lol. She's a very protective red heeler that loves only her people.
@ only for a few more weeks you will be able to schedule for 6 days out and then you gotta be above 50ar to schedule at all in 2 weeks my friend so might change your mind
@@SISELERSELLS I'm in a tiny market so we never see updates right away. IF it comes it'll be few months. Then I'll just take more Uber, or spark or Instacart. I'm not dependent on one app so I'm not worried 😎
@@tazman1016 DoorDash has finally put a end to cherry picking on there app lol and the only way to make money on it is to take some trash with the good but I look at the total number at the end of the day and I would rather make 200 then set in a parking lot refusing to do a $4.50 for 3 miles
🎉 Welcome to the my give a damn is busted club. 🎉 Just remember 3 pm for scheduling and try to stay in the gold tier or you can’t schedule till like midnight. I gave up on platinum after I spent the first two weeks of the new tier program bouncing between gold and platinum EVERY day. 😊to quote the best little blue fish, “just keep swimming”.
The orders have been horrible lately. Too far, too little and long waits. On Sunday I decided to give EBT a shot and made more than I have in a long time. Between driving to the restaurant, waiting and then to the customer I'm getting 2-4 times the $2 base on the per order aide. Almost all have had good tips. I'm no longer stressing about orders not being ready or having to unassign. And yes I've still declined a few in the last 4 days but no where near the regular amount on pay by order
Nice. Also, EBT will help you with taxes because most deliveries are higher mileage. Maintenance and milage will greatly reduce your taxes and put more cash in your pocket when done properly.
maybe this is fud but im really starting to think if everyone in your area is plat you better off at 40% ar but if everyone in your area is at 40% your better off plat.
Fuck all these tiers! Cherry pick! 3% are. Just got $29.25 for 10 miles and $19.75 for 4.6 miles also multi app. If people decline all these shit orders the wouldn't exits.
Apply for every gig app that is available in your market while you're on the waitlist. Gotta be multi app ready if you plan on doing gigs FT with spark.
@@legendvalley Uber walmart pickups are one of the worst in my area. I tried 4 times and all 4 were unsuccessful, unassigned due to 30-45 min wait times, and I do both Spark and Uber. But give it a try, maybe your Uber Walmart is better than mines.
@@ChickenThug55 I caught one like that in the city once and just got rid of it and moved on. Out here, they do pretty good. I have one I pick up if the price is right and I need a break. The other one comes in on Roadie at a different location. I heard something about GrubHub getting connected with some new stores. There is a lot of older and lazy people here it's where my parents lived. I am planning a move South in the spring. I'm also retired so I can be a bit more picky. Two things I've never encountered: Panda Express ready when I give the customer name and a customer's food in the Wendy's mobile order stand. What a time to be alive. Your GAF Viewmaster is broke? They still make those things?
You never need to schedule DD if you multi app. Ill occasionally check DD to see if they are busy and dash now whenever avail. Otherwise if you have UE, GH, Spark, Insta cart, Roadie, Deliver that, your all set.
Easy to say that when you got a good UA-cam channel that’s making money. most people don’t have that, they have to take orders that are upside down. Just saying.

I made my shirt it say ALL TIPS MATTER on front and back of tshirt and customers do tip me now because of that
@@Kandii69Treenado they add tip😂?
Working on it 😆
Yeah it's hard being a slave to dash now! I can relate. I'm about feed up with it also.
The way the acceptance rate and completion rate works right now is like, DD wants us all to struggle.😂😂😂

When you get to dash now anytime the map isn’t red, more crap orders
I have never tried earn by time. Feels like a settup
I do it sometimes. Usually out of zone and no or low tip orders other dashers aren’t accepting.
Yeah, i took a couple of weeks off because I was sick of the horrible bids, aka low tips.
Welcome to the 7% club
Im baffled to see such a seasoned dasher who actually chases those reward levels. They are complete bs 1000%.
Accept good orders decline bad. Fuck AR%. If it ain't making me money im.not taking it.
Multi app only way to go for full time work
Apparently you have never been platinum and gotten good orders over and over with instead of sitting in that parking lot reading this right now!!!
@SISELERSELLS u are brainwashed and u AR guys are destroying your own markets by teaching your customers there's a loser that will deliver for free
@@SISELERSELLS you must be in a terrible market.
@ no actually I’m in a great market but after 20k deliveries on these platforms I have come to realization that the only number that matters if you do this full time is the amount of money you made at the end of the day!!!
@@SISELERSELLS agreed
i remember when mt st helens blew up we had ash all over everything, cars, driveway, roof, and i lived 45 min south of San Francisco Calif at the time, the ash came down that far away
That’s just what DoorDash and other gig apps want. You will never catch that carrot.
Welcome to my world... can't even schedule anymore... that's going to be next for you
DOORTRASH NOW! PAYING LESS EXPECTING MORE....
This weekend was so horrible pay avg 8 dollars I just did my 10 order and call it a week. I hopefully this week is better
only 10 orders a week???
I rarely get an order that is under my $/mile mark in my market maybe 1 or 2 per shift and my acceptance rate stays around 73-80%. I’m still making anywhere from $20-30/hr
good for you
As soon as i left the gig economy my blood pressure went down i was drinking red bull a lot to work longer hours and it was affecting my heart
😅😅😅😅😅😅
Yeah I just set an alarm on your phone every day to schedule. Easy peasy!
I have been skitz abou maintaining Platinumb'.. After 2600+ delivery's I am learning to Hate DD.
WHY?
How often do you dash though?
Just wait til it's 80% and no dash now ever. It's coming, and let me tell you that it really sucks.
It's 80% in my area cant maintain it
@mlmMorabito and no dash now, right?
@@drewwhezzynot since I dropped to silver my ar is only 77%
I gave up chasing platinum. I just try to stay silver just so I can schedule.
I make more cherry-picking, than i did on platinum
Me too The reward system is a straight deception.
What farm are you at. I don’t have slot cherries anymore
dont forget , technically your suppossed to carry a line of commercail insurance to do this work,. some of the gurus about this work said no regulation to this type of work, but the governemnt should finally step in an regulate this, they are just bypasssing minimun wage laws with this.,
im still paying the gas bill from doing this 3 years ago.
I just realized Brash Dasher (this channel) is the one who posted the video on the new schedule scheme. It's a few videos back.
The thing is, it really doesn't seem like platinum is worth it! If they just made it WORTH IT....
You should multi app then you can upgrade your pay even more that way
When your new you definitely get better orders for a little while@xerowolf4242
I’m noticing on platinum. You do get priority when order pop up and dash now. 60% of the time they give you the 12-20 miles for 10-18$ also shit orders too at times. Now when I’m on gold they only give you 1-8 miles and most times it’s 3-5 miles for 3-7$ orders. I’ve been bouncing multiple times on platinum and gold. I think gold is much better because it saves you mileage and gas. For gold to work you’ll need to be at least 1-3 miles away from any store that is dropping orders. They won’t give you far out order like on platinum.
$20 for 20 miles is horrible.. I would never do that. $26 for 20 miles maybe. That's 2 gallons of gas for me
My ar is 8%. I have 12,190 deliveries on doortrash alone.
Good video, TY
That would be my dog, trying to remove the door from its hinges. And yes, she does need Prozac. lol. She's a very protective red heeler that loves only her people.
😆
Only you can make some money, if you dirty DDashing with Uber Eats.
I dont have the volume of offers to keep up with the ' orders per month ' metric...
With the new scheduling system becareful they didnt tell me they changed it to 3 day schedule and i couldn't get shifts.
Don’t do it bro it totally sucks as in the orders but YOU CAN NEVER SCHEDULE
Market dependent, I can schedule 6 days out at midnight. If I miss that then I have to fill it in hour by hour but still possible
I'm at 40 AR. I'm always able to schedule.
I thought you had a ford, it’s a Corolla? I loved mine, wish I had it to dash instead of me now in a Volvo wagon 18 years old lol
Finally. Welcome to the cherry picker side
My son get base pay 2 and sometimes no tip or 4 the highest was 20 tip
When fast food workers are moving like snails its cuz they are high.
🎉 Suprise!🎉
Platinum is for suckers. Extreme multi-apping cherry picker till I die. 🤘🤘🤘💰💰💰
Fuck all these tiers! Cherry pick! 3% are. Just got $29.25 for 10 miles and $19.75 for 4.6 miles also multi app. If people decline all these shit orders the wouldn't exits.
Yall I have a question if you waited over a year for spark to hire you and they don’t what should you do
Apply for every gig app that is available in your market while you're on the waitlist. Gotta be multi app ready if you plan on doing gigs FT with spark.
uber does walmart pick ups
Here I have never found declines affect anything other than DD and I do not use it much.
I don't even know what platinum is on Doordash...I'm at 13% acceptance rating again....lol. Better offers are popping up slowly but surely......
And I always schedule in advance also but not being silver can’t even do that.
Im trying to get spark but theres no availability.
Same here. Got updated and back on wait list
still on the damn waiting list too
i'm taking notes...lol
Easy to say that when you got a good UA-cam channel that’s making money. most people don’t have that, they have to take orders that are upside down. Just saying.
Here in az it does matter unfortunately
