Any chance of releasing a metal speaker cover/grille like in the PB-16 Ultra for the new 17" subwoofers? Since these mainly sit on the floor, this helps prevent kids from kicking a field goal into the speaker.
What I've always loved about SVS subwoofers is the control as well as the grunt or 'tractor pull' as they call it. Musicality means a tight bass line stays just that... tight and well-defined. Congratulations guys! It looks and sounds like a breathtaking product. Too large for my setup, but look forward to hearing it demo'd 😊🎵
The volume of new products and innovations that SVS brings to market each year is really impressive. The SVS Ultra Evolution Pinnacle speakers look absolutely amazing and I've been dying to hear them - I'll have to add the new sub to the list. The dual mono amp and associated voicecoils is really interesting - I've heard of dual voicecoil subs, but not driven by separate amps. Adding the auto room eq is kind of just the 'icing on the cake.' I can't wait to hear them.
I bought 4 16 Ultras like 6 months ago. Now with the launch of the 17 Ultras, its encouraging me to upgrade. Im not necessarily happy with spending more money and repackaging the 16 Ultras to wait for there replacements. But one thing I know for sure that's rarely discussed in home theater mediums, is the bigger the subs you own, you definitely need to have your gear and the subs on dedicated 20 amp or above circuits. Your subs will be unleashed. You will definitely hear a difference in there performance.
Woow boom😎 Many thanks to all the excellent work you all have done with the new Revolution subwoofer, the Ultra Revolution speakers, towers, Brilliant, Perfect, Amazing, a true Revolution.
Love your products. I've owned SVS subs for near 20 years. My present dual PC4000s are already perfect and capable of being too much for my theater. I'm already capable of breaking my house. So I suppose the big seller here to prompt an upgrade is auto EQ/room correction.
Thanks for sharing, PC-4000s are very capable of home breaking. Auto EQ is big part of it. Also greater output from larger driver, more amplifier power, and better control from re-designed voice coil.
How does the Auto EQ Room Correction on this new SVS subwoofer integrate with an AVR's room correction? Do you run it before or after an AVR's own room correction? Also, will the subwoofer's Auto EQ work in combination with a subwoofer that does not have its own Auto EQ? Thanks!

Congratulations to Ed and those who spear headed this design. It sounds genuinely innovative in some fundamental areas that driver design should have been advancing years ago honestly. I hope to see klippel or other independent testing of the sealed and ported devices so consumers can genuinely and clearly know the elevated difference you speak about is present. Good job SVS, you’re all crazy over there, maybe one day I’ll have some sort of underground reinforced nuclear bunker that can handle a sub like the pb17, until then I’ll keep enjoying my pc2000 & pb1000, thanks!
A good feature of all SVS subs would be knowing where your subwoofer is sitting in its duty cycle on the app. Imagine having a rated graph with coloured zones that showed peak power use and average power if in the red you are reaching beyond peak power to often and you need a second or larger sub. If orange a second or larger sub should be considered and if green you are good.
Love the new svs 17 but im i love with my SVS 3000 PB there my babies. I had them little bit over a year and half. and then shake my house. I can imagine what the new one would do.
As an owner of an SB-16 Ultra, I have always wanted to add a 2nd PB-16 for a more balanced output with movies. The 17" is nice, but that cloth grill is a significant step back from the metal one on the 16" models. I'm sure cost was an issue, but would you be able to offer the metal grill as an upgrade?
The grille pin spacing on the 16-Ultra and the 17-Ultra R|Evolution subwoofers is not the same. So the grilles are not forward/backward compatible. The plastic injection molded grille frame on the 17-Ultra R|Evolution is quite sturdy and spaces the frame far away from the woofer. The stretch fabric over the opening can take a healthy amount of push without reaching the woofer. In my assessment the plastic injection molded grille is a major upgrade in all respects. Vocal supporters of the metal grille notwithstanding, over the years we've had far more requests for a switch to the plastic/cloth grille than to retain the metal grille. Ed M - SVS

I would have been the first person to order a pair. However, I will never buy metal domes after listening to ribbons. Sadly, only a few manufacturers take advantage of them. First thing I noticed as well. Plus the frequency response graph looks similar to the PB16's, which probably means the performance hasn't changed much at all especially below 20Hz. And the grill is now fabric mesh instead of a metallic one, one of the reasons that made SVS subs different. The metal grill. Wonder of there'll be an option to chose different grills in the future.

Like the other commenter's said, duals will always sound better. You can tweak the placements of each sub to move more air for better (cleaner) headroom. As far as adding an SB17 Ultra to your SB4000 sounds a little cumbersome & might be hard to "sonically" pair accurately. How may sq ft is your room? I agree with what authentic said. You will get significantly deeper low frequency extension and a lot more headroom if you are looking for more impact. That said, PB-3000s are very capable and suitable for a room that size.
I would buy this but my HT room in on the second floor, above me on the 3rd floor is a 9foot Diamnond pool table. I am afraid this sub would hurt the integrity of my house and floors might start caving in lol.
If you are sizing circuits for a dedicated HT system, you'll be fine with a single 15A circuit for the system. The new STA-2800 amplifier is incredibly efficient and you won't have any worries about tripping a 15A breaker. Even two 17-Ultra R/Evolution subwoofers will be fine on a single dedicated 15A circuit with normal music/movie source material. A circuit breaker will pass more than its rated capacity for brief periods of time, because they trip from thermal/heat and not actual current draw. Subwoofer amps are transient load devices (unlike steady draw devices like vacuum cleaners, space heaters, hair dryers, etc.). The steady draw devices are what typically will trip a circuit breaker, not audio equipment. Ed M - SVS

I might consider to sell both to get one 17 ultra( can’t afford 2 for now). Is it worth it or it’s better to stick with what I have .
Thanks in advance
You will get significantly deeper low frequency extension and a lot more headroom if you are looking for more impact. That said, PB-3000s are very capable and suitable for a room that size.
Can we order the ash now and have it shipped on October 22nd? Or do we need to wait. 😁
Yes, you can order now and they will ship once available.
What is the difference to a rel7x
Still no servo feedback? Why not?
It's unnecessary with the current state of the art drivers
@@jamiet74 if you had the option between pb17 and an alternate reality pb16 with servo control. Which would you choose? I would choose the latter
Servo is after the fact.
@@bilguana11 servo setups have feedback from position adjusting the live output. Delay is negligible at lower frequencies found in subwoofers.
@@joe_limon Paul McGowen used to say that until he listened to the difference.
I would buy this but my HT room in on the second floor, above me on the 3rd floor is a 9foot Diamnond pool table. I am afraid this sub would hurt the integrity of my house and floors might start caving in lol.
Nice!
Where can I demo your product line live in person. I've always read and heard great things about your products but that's all I've had to go on.
OMG… body Language 🤯
Port noise ?
can I run two of these PB 17 bad boys on one power outlet with 16 A rated current?
Yes, power factor correction allows it to be run on typical home AC circuit.

TAKE MY MONEY
Svs ultra 17 or Rel S/812
People have to understand that manufacturers have to keep sales in the positive, the next best thing every year is how it’s done, mark my words there will be something else in the next twelve months,so everything you have bought in the past is irrelevant you must buy the new thing
Sorry I’m late !
The phrase you’re looking for is “in concert”…
Kinda misleading not telling us that the subwoofer design isn't in house eh? Seeing as how the driver is a STW350 with an inch added for the 16....
The 17-Ultra R|Evolution driver is not an STW350, nor is it any other COTS driver. The motor topology, VCs, and all soft parts are bespoke and customized for this application.

@@SVS_Sound Indeed I didn't quite word that right. I guess what I was meaning to say is that the 16, and in turn the 17u, started with the 350 as a foundation and built upon it, is Peerless also OEMing the 17 for you guys as well surely? Not that any of this is a bad thing of course that 350 is an absolute UNIT to begin with

Umm psa tv42 ipal is 8000 watts rms 10k peak so wrong that right there is a more powerful amp in a home consumer subwoofer

Thanks for getting rid of the front screen
I want to add a powerful sub to my home stereo but I don’t want to damage my house 😬

You could just have said what the new lineup is, you didn't have to fake a conversatiion.
It's pratronizing.

Great company, but they're to price themselves out of business in these inflationary times.
Yeah after covid . The price jump of alot of home audio was crazy .
