Nice detailed video. These are really beasts, Tonewinner is doing great work in subwoofers. I am using a D8000 & I have SVS PB4000 also, when I compare both results shocking for me because the Tonewinner D8000 clearly wins in bass performance. I'm thinking of ordering a D8000 pro after watching your video.
Handles! Handles! Handles! Thank you!!! And I don't care about looks. I! Care! About! Sound!!! Of course, I wonder if Rythmic could include the handles for subwoofers as well... That would be awesome to have.
All subwoofer manufacturers should put steel handles on their subs. All of the pro audio speaker makers do it. Just makes sense when lifting anything over 50 pounds. Excellent video once again. Cheers from Calgary ish area. 👍👍
I love the idea of handles. For something of this size and weight, it should be essential. I realize some won’t like them but I think they’re a great idea. I think Tonewinner offers tremendous value. Can’t go wrong at that price point.
@MrBonger88 No, I've pushed them both quite hard, and didnt hear port chuffing. I get a nice rush of air that I can feel from 8 feet away, and no chuff.
Oh wow. Worth the wait for this video!!! 🎉 I was truly hoping these would fall into that Budgety price point, but $2k US for the dual 15”?!!!? Wtf!! And that 18”!! Omg!! These are really gonna put the svs pb16 to shame especially for the price! 🎉 the monolith dual 15” might come close for a bit less $$ but I doubt it’s gonna even compare when it comes to performance!! 🎉 But seriously! $2-2,300$ US?! That’s half the price for an SVS! More than half the price of the Perlisten R18s($5000!!!!). 😂 $1k less than the rhythmik dual 15”. About the same price as the rythmik 18” ported, but with twice the power! I can’t wait to see the rew soecs and to see how these compare to the JTR equivalents! 🎉 thanks!!
Great video as always! I really like the dual 15.... on the side it looks awesome. If I still had my HT, I would without a doubt, 2 would be in my room! The TW app is the best I have ever used. Feature packed, phase, delay, even input voltage selection. (Better IMO than SVS) I have a TW and a SVS currently, together these integrate fantastic!! I'm impressed. TW is messing with the big boys, I like it! I had a SVS SB4000, the D8000 would eat it for breakfast. 😁
I love the app too, very handy. Especially for large subs like this that you dont want to pull away from the wall. Hopefully there is a dual 18" in the future
Great video as usual Barrett. Here's my question. The D8000 Pro or two D6000 What would be your choice and why? And what exactly is the difference besides both 15's in one box vs 2 individual 15's? is there an advantage performance wise between the 2?
Have you ever measured these subs outside or in space that wouldn’t have room as factor? Curious how your room is effecting the subwoofer. I’ve been looking at some pro audio sub measurements from outside with ground rta mic placement helps a person see what response sub has. All of us have rooms that love to soak up some frequencies and make graph look like mountains. I’ve seen it first hand with my 10 - 18” sub setup I run.
@camaross12 I'm not set up at this time to do that. Not to mention, it wouldn't be fun hauling these monsters outside lol. I would love to see cea2010 measurements one them too.
ok im interested for sure. i will be waiting on the test videos . they are ugly as sin but performance is my end goal . also want to hear your comparisons to the JTR subs. thanks for the video
Awesome 👌 vid as usual. Very keen to hear your next vid on them. I have the D8000 I'm assuming it's basically the same output as the pro, just a smaller footprint. But yeah it definitely out performs my pb3000 and rocks the 🏠 😎
Great video but you seam to skip the D8000 the none pro witch as a smaller footprint with dual opposite 15 inch...could be a better choice for those who have smaller room 🤔
How does Tonewinner handle being a HARD daily/weekly driver for years upon years? That's what I need to know about subs/companies. Out of the vendors most people buy/recommend, all I know is that SVS works for my usage case for at least a decade. Do other vendors? I know one of them doesn't.
Jtr is on a whole different level of output bd and goes down into the single digits. A Chinese brand you get a lot for the money and seems like a great value
It's amazing... Aamir at summithifi is outstanding.. He responds and goes out of his way to answer questions and help.. Between me and my 3 other friends with his tonewinner d6000 subs, have never had an issue.. Been over a year now... They just work and soind better than any svs sub and paradigm we had incl the svs pb16!! and paradigm sub15.
Interesting subs. I'm here for the support. Have you ever opened some of these subs? .. a lot more space to check out the build quality compared to a bookshelf speaker. ... with a budget brand.. I wonder how important it is for people to see how it's made. Yeah.. SVS new 17.. blah blah. haha.. I won't ask. only that .. SVS and other brands in higher prices do show the inside if the cabinet when at shows. Could be an easy video idea? Cheers man! .. Good luck with the next journey - I wish you the best and quick turn around for the next ' work ' adventure.
Is this sponsored or something? Everytime I remember, you just grabbed the tools and showed us the numbers, compression, max dB output, frequency response, instead of "yea, it's awesome, go buy now" kind of thing. I'd love to see those.
@@SpecOfTech Glad to hear it! I couldn't listen to the whole video yet, just watched the timeline if there is REW inside. Will watch the whole thing once I get back to the place with actual internet
@@SpecOfTech with REW, please show results down to 1hz, dont let the left side of the graph stop at 5hz. I want to see the -3db point properly of the 9000D during compression testing. Thanks so much.
If I remember right, the 8" voicecoils are quite inefficient. I am still interested in testing the new SVS none the less. Given the US pricing of the PB17, the Canadian pricing will be over $5000. Giving these Tonewinner subs a huge price advantage over the SVS, especially for Canadians.
Dual 8" voice coils and each is powered by bridged dual mono block amps. Plus that new state of the art DSP chip, that is clocked the fastest in the word. That, a bunch of other tweaks and improvments to make it way more efficient and powerful. Tuned to 8hz +or-3db for the ported version and 11hz +or-3db. I think it's gonna give JTR's a run for their money. Will they beat JTR subs? No, not to likely, but they don't need to beat them, they just need to be within spiting distance of what a JTR can do. With the way they look and all that new state of the art technology in them, that will make them very appeling to a lot of people that wants what a JTR can dobut would never get one because they're ugly and are brutish in their approach.
@randysalsman6992 Impressive specs on paper, same as when the PB16 came out, but those didn't live up to the hype with all the port chuffing as well competition from other internet direct subwoofers from Rythmic, PSA etc provided better performance and value.
YAY! Barrett bringing the BOOM! I wonder if your home hasn't moved on the foundation. Dang Dude! It is interesting how much these look like SVS subs. Not that I am complaining. I'm just wondering if Tonewinner is building the SVS products like they do for other very well known USA companies.
Seem like some solid contenders. Especially for someone starting out in the hobby that seem to always gravitate towards overpriced SVS. As for me I’ll stick with my PSA’s 🔊🔊
I can’t comment on these monster subs but I did get a pair of D4000’s and was not impressed. The App is fiddly and not as simple and efficient as what’s on my SVS. One note of caution be very sure that you’re going to like any Tonewinner sub as return shipping to Canada is on you which can be quite expensive due to the size and weight which I had to find out the hard way as Amir will not directly answer your question regarding return shipping leading one to foolishly assume incorrectly. That being said in all fairness they seem to be a good product with value but they weren’t for me.
I saw the reviews and would like to buy tonewinner D2000/or D4000. Would like to know your user experience how's the sound/bass quality comparing to SVS say sb2000 pro/sb3000? thanks.
Our apologies for the confusion. We did call you to assist with setting up the subwoofers, but you opted to return them within a couple of days. We understand that the return cost was high for you, and we helped secure a more affordable rate. Additionally, we offered various solutions to address your concerns. Thank you
There was no confusion I asked a very direct question and was given a vague answer. I take full responsibility for my big mistake of assuming but not for your lack of specificity. This is the correct answer to my question : If you are not satisfied with your purchase you can return them within 30 days and receive a full refund minus return shipping and or any restocking fees.
