I struggle SO MUCH with curls. My trouble is keeping the hair on the rod, but your video showed me that you need to start at the BASE of the hair and then wrap the hair around the rod and secure with the paper towel! I was trying to get the ends of the hair to stay on the rod and roll it up this whole time and it would fall out. I've struggled with this for months! Thank you!!!
@@RetroGeekCrafts it's not! I believe you did a great job with the editing and with the styling, that's why I felt nostalgic, it felt like I was in the 80s xD
I love the result but I have a question, do you wet the pony's hair with hot water? I recently became interested in repairing the hair of dolls and ponies and I saw that in order to shape it to the hair of the dolls monster high takes care of the hot water well that's it haha if one day you see this silly comment I just want to tell you that I love your content uwu
Hi! Thank you for your comment 😊 I always wet the hair because it makes it easier to work with. If I'm just going to wrap it around the leg, I use warm water. If I instead choose perm rollers, I use either hot water (for "flexible" curls) or I pour boiling water on them to make them tighter. The more temperature you use, and the longer you wit with the hair in place, the more "stable" the curls will be 😊
I did the same hairstyle for Sundance and it came out wonderful except the black rubber band from the curler left marks on her and I can't get them off with acetone, magic eraser, OR sandpaper 😭😭
I had this pony, but this is the first time I have seen her with wings, I remember buying her at a penny sale at school.
Nice!! You can get replacement wings on etsy 😊
I use the curlers that actually came in one of the My Little Pony clothing packs... makes tight curls as well! :D I'm so glad I found this channel!
Ohhh I don't know them! But they sound great, I need to look into it, thank you for sharing the info ☺️

Thank you! I'm very glad you like them :)
I am from late 90s but somehow I felt nostalgic with the video :D
I hope that's not a bad thing! I never had this pony growing up but it's just so... pretty, like a fairy. I would have loved it 😊

@@RetroGeekCrafts Wow, thank you very much for noticing my poor comment 💗 and I'm going to apply it 💗✨
Do you hot water dip candy cane pony curls?

I could try using peroxide cream again but I'd have to cover her already-curled hair
Oh noooo!!! I didn't know this could happen! I need to look into it, I feel kind of terrible now!! 😭
Oh it's not your fault! 😅😅😅 I'll let you know if the peroxide works! You've helped me find a hobby I really like and I'm very thankful 💕
I honestly don't have the patience to try and lighten it 🤣 I worked so hard on her already lol. Atleast the curly hair is covering worst of it
I eventually put liquitex modeling paste over it, sanded it, and tried toatch the pony color the best I could
