You’re great, May! I’ve been managing and leading teams for over 20 years yet I still learn so much from you. Thank you!

Hi any additional suggestions to a young one in the world of work? Been assigned a job as a curator of a museum.

3.26 - Check with your boss. This sums it all up - ask your manager how she or he wants to receive updates (email. in person, etc.) and to what level of detail. 9 out 10 bosses/managers will love you if you ask them this and then do what they reply. If you have a manager that doesn't like this question, find a new employer!!!

What about a boss who - when you check with them - puts another level between herself and you, but doesn’t listen to the middle level employee either. Plus keeps on coming to you to make changes to finished and already checked reports?

Whoever Linda’s boss is was really a pathetic boss. As a boss you should be held to a higher level scrutiny. He should have relayed how he felt to Linda and worked on his own anxiety and frustration levels. Those at the top control the culture!

If your boss's boss writes you a direct email, do you introduce your immediate boss while replying?
