It's a tricky one cause security will follow orders and they tend to take the approach of treating everyone known or unknown the same because they can't brief each individual guard on who's who. So I don't blame the guard for doing what he did, and I think Cartier doing what they did to get the boys back in was a great way to remedy the situation and make them feel special. You can't really take these things personally when you put yourself in their shoes.

Glad that was smoothed-out, but the big deal here is that if these security folks are the "front line" for the brand it doesn't matter if they're not officially tied to the brand, it's going to potentially leave a bad taste in someone's mouth, which likely mortified this woman who actually *does* work with Cartier. The Cartier security reminded me of the bouncers in nightclubs in Sydney, a real power trip, because you guys tower over them with your knowledge of Cartier, they just needed to show that little chic in the corner with the skimpy skirt that they had more hairs on their legs, they have the bigger bald patch on their bald heads, and push in like an alpha dog in your video - the act of a real bully - brings me all the way back to that school yard in primary school. Just when I started to get excited about Cartier - I feel a bucket of ice over my head …. Not going anywhere near a Cartier watch this year - out of principle for what they just did.

That was horrendous. Cartier technical and marketing teams made a huge effort to deliver great pieces and a great show. Then, ignorant security guards kicked out three of the most influential opinion makers in the watch industry worldwide. That was just really bad publicity. That was Cartier’s fault. They should have someone managing their space. In IWC and Panerai the CEOs themselves were receiving and talking to the press.

A lot of people these days go for hard to get watches for the "flex" which I hate, that being said having Cartier walk you back in must have been the biggest flex feeling there is. As always Cartier is pure class.

They’re the only luxury watch brand who welcomed me, obviously as a 16 year old, they don’t expect me to know much but was really able to connect with the Tudor AD and they even allowed me to try on the Tudor chrono.

I bought my first luxury watch recently (the IWC Spitfire Chronograph in Bronze). Absolutely love it and am excited to pass it down to my son when he turns 18. I went to AD for get a Tank. Their behaviours were so rude. Doorman even asked some woman to open door After that i got inside and waiting someone to interest with me but no one came arround. So i just walked out the store. Hate that experience
Security is just that, sometimes they're just paid muscle and most of them prolly couldn't distinguish a Cartier tank from an Amazon Homage watch, but that's not on Cartier the organization itself. Good on Cartier to recognize this snafu and set things right. I do like that Cartier Tank Americaine with that plain clean dial, very classy looking. It's a timeless piece, I feel like it'll still look great 40 year from now.

I could not agree more, that Cartier wholeheartedly deserves, all of the hype surrounding the brand. I'll leave it there, as the "rabbit whole" is rather deep. I will say, that the amount of journalists that were ejected from different booths and displays, by multiple different brands, throughout the whole of the Watches & Wonders event, was positively shameful. I give credit to both Andrew, for holding it together (as angry as he was), and making the statement that "this isn't Cartiers fault," and for the representative of the brand, having enough foresight and class, to come make amends, and allow the team to finish what they started. I must say that it pisses me off, that some of these brands disrespect the press in this manor!!! You're doing them a favor, drawing attention to their brand and said products...highlighting their achievements. Some brands that desperately need it!!! Even worse was their treatment, of many in the general public, from what I've heard. Absolutely shameful, IMHO, and the duty of the Richemont Group, as organizers of the event, to insist on better treatment of the press and public, as well as a higher level of transparency. Kudos to you fellas, for sharing the entire scenario, with the public. Someone needs to effect change, and this is the way it starts.....awareness. Cheers lads🥃

I could not agree more, that Cartier wholeheartedly deserves, all of the hype surrounding the brand. I'll leave it there, as the "rabbit whole" is rather deep. I will say, that the amount of journalists that were ejected from different booths and displays, by multiple different brands, throughout the whole of the Watches & Wonders event, was positively shameful. I give credit to both Andrew, for holding it together (as angry as he was), and making the statement that "this isn't Cartiers fault," and for the representative of the brand, having enough foresight and class, to come make amends, and allow the team to finish what they started. I must say that it pisses me off, that some of these brands disrespect the press in this manor!!! You're doing them a favor, drawing attention to their brand and said products...highlighting their achievements. Some brands that desperately need it!!! Even worse was their treatment, of many in the general public, from what I've heard. Absolutely shameful, IMHO, and the duty of the Richemont Group, as organizers of the event, to insist on better treatment of the press and public, as well as a higher level of transparency. Kudos to you fellas, for sharing the entire scenario, with the public. Someone needs to effect change, and this is the way it starts.....awareness. Cheers lads🥃
