I know it's the cheapest one of the bunch, but that laptop with the translucent chassis looked by far the coolest.
16:9 display it seems
@@sshivam6955 Remind me again, which is better. I prefer the taller screen so I can get more info shown vertically.
@@nickriedel390616:9 is the standard screen you find on 95% of laptops and tvs. The 16:10 screen is the one you’re referring to. My old surface had it and god did it feel and look good
@@nickriedel3906 taller is fairly popular for productivity, but not overly available for desktop monitors (they exist, but are mostly for office work or video editing)
Agreed. I love me some translucent plastic, as long as it's not going to get a lot of UV exposure.
With 24TB of PCIe storage, it's probably still cheaper than Macbook Pro 16 with 8TB ssd
Yeah but Apple 8TB is equivalent to MSI 24TB 🤓
- Apple
what are you yapping about @@bigfatbub
@@slavb0i646apple said something like that about ram.
Apple said that 8gb on a MacBook is equivalent to 16gb on a Windows machine which is obviously bs. Maybe macOS is a bit more efficient but chrome will be chrome and it will consume the 8gb like its nothing on both operating systems
@@troybakker7628 Chrome on a MacBook is just a reskinned safari browser FYI lol hence the claims from apple
@@troybakker7628 this discussion is not about rams
Very impressive MSI lineup this year.
Wow this new intel naming scheme really is terrible. I have no idea whether the processors they are using are on the low end or high end. Maybe a video explaining the new naming scheme might be in order?
For all we know it might just be snake oil...
@@grifsinintel snake oil gamers nexus car dealership reference
I honestly don't have a problem with it anymore. It's still pretty shit, but like most things, you figure it out eventually
Intel "your guess is as good as ours" naming scheme
yeah but AMD naming scheme is the best, viva AMD, our gods and saviours
now lets make a random meme about Nvidia or Intel on r/pcmr to farm karma because cant ever talk sh*t about our gods AMD
These laptops look fantastic, I can't wait for the rest of the products that will be announced at CES soon!
I like how the evolution goes .. Riley, Alex, Luke, Linus. Same face but also, 4 different ages of man. From bambino to granpapa.
Never expected to like MSI laptops more than Dell but here we are
As someone named Andrew, I really like when they say something like "check this out Andrew" to the camera man 3:22
That translucent laptop is soooo cool!
Translucent case laptop is sick as hell. Not a huge MSI fan but that's my preferred size give or take an inch so yeah.
02:12 Speaking about feet on the laptop, when do you think we'll ever find the kind of collapsible feet that used to be on nearly all keyboards back in the day, you know the ones, those that you could flip out and it would be taller up back, or leave them collapsed to have it lay more flat? I've seriously been wishing for those kinds of feet on laptops pretty much since I first started buying laptops. You'd think they'd want their laptops to have cooler bottoms, but instead they go and have nearly flat to the surface feet, like, what?
It's cool how laptops are getting thin and actually having decent performance. When I upgrade my work ThinkPad I will have to look at some of these more closely.
This was a fun AD. The excitement was genuine. The products actually were interesting. Please make more MSI Claw content. Game handhelds are definitely the most important gaming products for most people considering price and convenience. Fantastic video.
I believe Dave2D has the other prototype MSI Claw. Makes sense that we're just doing trade-show walkthroughs for now; we won't see full testing until late 2H 2024.
Every since I got a review unit of the 2021 XPS 17, I’m glad Windows laptops are getting more and more haptic trackpads
Thank you Sampi for the voiceover corrections.
The Titan is straight-up a Battletops machine; you could pretty much safely use it as a desktop. That or the Cyborg.
As a Clevo desktop-replacement user; no. It's still nowhere close.
Titan yes, Cyborg no!
I would love to get one, but it costs 6 223 in EU. It might justify the price for 4 years, but who knows if it will last that long
MSI Claw looks 100% same shell as the asus ally. Pull up a picture of both side by side and everything lines up almost perfect beside the back side!
The internals look extremely similar to the EVOC X370SNW, just with the wifi m.2 swapped from left to right, more ram slots, and beefier cooling.
RGB trackpad. yeah, that's what the world needs.
i'll have you know that it will be a deciding factor on a laptop for me at some point when i have the budget
Alienware has been doing it for years now, honestly surprised no one else did it until now.
Ok grandpa
you're about a decade late with that comment lol
Individually lit RGB keyboards have been a God sent for me as a space sim player, I can memorize keys much better, color coding them by what they do.
Can't stress enough that clear shells on tech should be more available
Really annoyed that the Uk didn't get the limited edition steam deck.
Honestly the MSI Stealth 18 seems like a nice successor to the old Stealth GS77. I hope it's priced isn't a reflection of that too 😂.
BestBuy has two SKUS listed now.
$3299 - MSI - Stealth 18 AI 18" 120Hz UHD+ Ultra Thin Gaming Laptop-Intel Core Ultra9-185H with 32GB Memory-RTX 4080-1TB SSD - Star Blue
The other one seems to have disappeared but it was around $4099 for the RTX 4090 with 64GB RAM + 2TB.
I sold a bunch of cyborg series. They're quite popular and cheap. I can't wait for these new series to come into my shop.
1. Are all the keys mechanical? The GT77 used domes for the smaller keys like ~.
2. Does it have the force integrated GPU option? Sometimes I've found this necessary to get the DGPU to turn off after it was plugged into an external display...
I had a MSI Stealth GS63VR 6RF, was the best laptop I had in my life. Literally, i have no complains about it.
My next PC will be as much MSI i can get.
I am sure a huge chunk of people, including me, are going to be happy with all of these powerful components coming to thin and light laptops. I cannot emphasise how much I love these. The lack of options until this point was appalling, and I wouldn't even mind going Intel if OEMs end up with such great levels of optimisation. Just hope the trend continues.
I used to only buy HP laptops because they had an 18" model up until around 2012 and that thing was amazing. And then I switched to Dell for my new laptop in 2014 (the one I'm still using, today).
This new 18" machine looks like it's going to be my next laptop. That I'll hopefully be able to buy used next year, because I can't afford that price atm
So did msi fix their BIOS to properly boot from systemd-boot with Secure Boot disabled?
Good job MSI! And Alex too!
LMG got soo big that companies approach them to feature the CES products. Feels like we need a reviewer specifically for LMG.....
Damn. That 99.9 battery is a deal breaker. 100 is the only way
Blame the TSA.
Not allowed on airplanes
Oh that makes a ton of sense now@@FlyingCIRCU175
@@Jessev741It's not as if anyone is going to be using that 18" model on a regular airline tray table, anyway....
@@Alpha8713 I'm just telling you why nobody makes a laptop with a 100Wh battery
The prestige ones actually looked interesting.
I cant wait for the new iGPUs in the intel chips I have read that they are equal to the older 1050s gpus
I know I got on Dell about their products going on the Ozempic diet, but power brick that can be used as a martial weapon at the Rennesaince Faire lol.
That translucent 14 looks sick
Will they break in 2 years though? And what about the hinges? Will they break too?
Might actually get a gaming laptop now, this looks great!
when will the stealth 18 be available? I want it lol
The msi claw do we know if it will support thunderbolt?
I just love Intel's new naming scheme, because it makes no sens at all so you won't understand what the FUCK these numbers mean!!!!!!
Its simple.
Ignore core 3, 5, 7 altogether.
Only accept Core Ultra 5, 7, 9.
Series 1, 2, 3 etc will be used in place of 1st gen, 2nd gen and so on.
In 155H 1 stands for generation.
55 stands for tier, higher the better.
H, U stands for TDP or wattage.
Somehow I like the prestige 13 the most out of all of them :) I really need a thin and light in my life.
At least we get the news now. good job MSI.
short circuit is my favorite LTT channel, like seriously, I love alex (as a youtuber).
🤨📸
i hope thoes clear plastics are alot stronger/scratch resistant than the old ones, esp when thrown in a backpack
ive been waiting for 5+ years now for micro-led to hit the market
How many years till this compute power is available in a thin and light ultrabook. Asking for a friend
Uhhhhhh modern cooling solutions, power delivery and a mechanical keyboard... is it that special or just functional?
as someone who was looking forward to the msi titan refresh this yr , i am concerned abt the thermals on this , they reduced the exhaust ports from 6 to 4 , from 4 fans to 2 fans and to top it all off , increased the power usage by 20W . Vry curious
Have you seen any evidence yet that they've fixed the problem with the MSI Prestige 13" not getting sufficient wattage to the chip (well before it would need to thermal throttle), causing extremely poor igpu performance? Maybe bios/driver updates? Thanks for your videos!
Other laptops will be at february?
I've got a charger brick that size for my Lenovo Legion 5 Pro (2021) but it's "only" 300W. 0:36
No dedicated right and left click buttons is an huge Fail, in my books. Would never buy a laptop with out them.
Also keyboard with dedicated page up/down, home, end keys
They all just stopped making those after 2021. Those are super rare now unless you buy a Japanese brand.
I just bring the keyboard and mouse everywhere where I'll be settling down longer than an hour. Classes don't fit, but surfing at home does.
Sponsored content on LTT & ShortCircuit too, on the same day?? Nice.
To anyone buying MSI. If you want to touch the bios please update it first. The motherboards have a tendency of losing VGA signal after some settings are changed without flashing first. Out of 3 products it happened on. And thats because I made sure to update the 3rd one. Happened on a Laptop and a PC Mobo. All of them are on AMD platform idk how intel would behave. PC had a flash bios button and that saved it but Laptop had to be sent in for repair.
Does it still use a barrel and pin power connector?
The power brick is actually impressive, although i wish they would move away from having it mid line and instead give you a sort of huge plug or the brick right after the plug.
Oooooo thunderbolt 4 port??? That is the only thing I wish the Ally had...
them Stephan hawking's references are wild
0:05 so you got them last year?
Could double as plate armor for a Humvee as well.
LMG on CES arrival " lets cash in on sponsors bois! cha ching" lol
I just wish MSI would consolidate all of their older RGB designs and integrate it together on one category. This would look so cool with GT77's RGB 'tail lights' instead of this weird tacky blue plastic bits. Keep one model with clean aesthetics and go crazy with a different category?
Wish I can install macOS on it. This thing has lots of room to grow.
I can’t wait to see how a laptop is going to dissipate THREE HUNDRED WATTS. You’re going to be able to heat your apartment with the Intel processor….
It's mostly the GPU.
RGB Clickpad? I'll just dig up my old Alienware 17 that has RGB touchpad with physical buttons
Have they fixed mystic light yet?
Thank you much for this video! Why did MSI eliminate the Mini DisplayPort that they had on previous Titan models? This seems like a disappointing downgrade, and it's not like they replaced it with a third Thunderbolt 4 port either!
ULTRA!
Alex - "It's not 2024 yet."
Video releases in 2024.
4080 model starting at $5,000, thank you very much
I've seen 200W supplies with the same size
I own 3 MSI laptops now. I bought them as they are cheap. my latest is a cyborg 15 A13Vf .. its nice ... but the only complaint with my last 2 is that they only have 1 USBc and none have PCIe pass through... meaning no external gpu support. my latest msi has nvidia chipset. but it doesnt send signals accross the hdmi port.. only the intel graphics. when you try sending nvidia over the intel port its a merged signal.... I want a nvidia only export over the hdmi. it has only 1 SSD availble... which is a pain.
would I buy again.. no, not really, but I would to give to my kid.
“Nice” is certainly not how I would describe matte display coatings, for sure.
but can it run command and conquer red alert 1?
They didn’t want us to do it but we did it anyway should be LTTs motto
Awesome 💯😎
Why would you put graphite between two sticks of RAM if there are Surface mount electronic components? Isn’t that a recipe for disaster?
Wow, the msi claw handheld really looks like a rog ally
Was this like filmed in the past? Thats like... Time travel
Great notebook❤
Can’t wait for lenovo to release an 18 inch legion 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Why do they need 400w brick for 270w system?
it's such a shame these thin and light came way too late. when 4050 announced, NVIDIA promised a new class of thin and light laptops because how efficient lovelace is. But sadly at that time, vendors didn't know about this, and were on the game of "who can push more power into the GPU" race. The result is 4060s getting pushed 140w of power because the vendors thought it'll be like ampere all over again. Turns out 4060s and 4070s are basically seeing 0 improvement past 100w.
So now vendors realized that pushing more power is stupid, here we are. Finally, the promised land of gaming thin and light laptops. ASUS just made their Zephyrus G14 lighter, and MSI came with cyborg 14. Shame they didn't do this on day one though, maybe it's because NVIDIA didn't let the vendors play with the GPU before it's too late and the design got locked in.
Love the hat. Edison motors is A1
For the Titan, you can get up to 196 Ram.
FYI: The unit is "Wh", not "WHr".
Is it not cold in canada? or is alex just built different
"These crabs are so bright, I love it"
It is 2024 though ;) and that power brick is chonky
Nice Edison Motors hat.
Cool !
all I want is a 4k oled 120 hz laptop
feels like QVC
Those sodimm ram sticks are 5600Mhz running at 4000Mhz(2 slots) or 3600Mhz(4 slots), thank you Intel.
What's with the hat, LOL Alex 😀
Oh my, it's only 5399$... Yeah, nooo, I saw not bad Bmw for that price :D
i love how msi realizes that most people prefer smaller bricks
Camera was all over the place in this one 😅
Lack of thunderbolt still?
im never this early
ooooOOOOOOOOOOoooooo the CLAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWW
