I see a lot of videos about the new g14 but very few about the omen. Thanks for keeping us up to date from CES!
It looks like MSI is still using the LED in the power button that indicates which GPU is supposed to be in use, white for integrated, orange for discrete. I personally can't stand this "feature" because in every laptop of theirs I've used that has it, it constantly flashes back and forth despite the NVIDIA system tray icon always showing that the dGPU is idle. I wish MSI would include a BIOS or software switch to disable that light all together.
Every time they add "smart" features like that, it ends up crap. On my laptop, there's a dedicated button to start up Steam. This is useless in itself, but for some reason, it also means that whenever the laptop tries to go to sleep mode, it immediately wakes up and launches Steam in big picture mode. These functions are somehow mixed together and nobody has been able to solve how to fix this.
Hmmm, my late 2021 version of the GE76 Raider doesn’t have this problem. It only ever switches the light color when the gpu being used is actually switched, and stays that way. It never ‘constantly’ flashes back and forth. However I have it only run on Garuda or Debian Linux, not MS Windows. I have had it running on Windows before, but I did not have this problem there either. Perhaps you need to do a fresh clean installation of your OS.

Are msi laptops good in terms of quality. Ive read about people complaining about them having poor build and that parts would stop working after a while much quicker than its competition. Where i am thr crosshair with rtx 4070 is cheaper than its legion counterparts.
I bought the MSI Stealth 13 a few months ago but had to return it due to touchpad issues. Hey Jarrod just a quick question: do you have any news from CES 2024 about the new Rtx 4070 Super mobile Gpu and when it will be available in the new laptops?
Big appreciation to MSI. They are the only brand with most complete upgrade lineups at CES. They upgraded ALL their segments at once from the gaming, business, all the way to the workstation level laptop. Especially for the workstation and content creation, coz many brands are often release workstation laptops so late to the party. But MSI launched it early. The Creator series including the flagship CreatorPro X18 with i9-14900HX and CreatorPro 16 AI Studio with Core Ultra 185H are the only top notch configuration that comes with RTX A5000 Ada. Not a single brand other than MSI released such great configs yet. 🔥🔥🔥
Love your videos Jarrod. You put me onto a great purchase a year or so back with a Legion 5 sporting the 5800H and a 130w 3060, and it is my favorite laptop I've ever had. Recently, I've been getting that itch for something new so I've been consuming all you recent content. Very happy to say that nothing has moved me to upgrade. I don't know, those mini PC's with dedicated graphics paired with a nice portable monitor are looking more appealing.
@polanialmoni6274 I kinda like the minisforum HX99. I can fit it, a small monitor, mouse, and keyboard in my current bag. But I'd use it at work set up on a desk that I have to sit at all night. I love my laptop, but it gets so damn hot and noisy, and I prefer the separation of components.
Monster hunter wilds no idea to the specs, still 1 year to the launch. But seeing mh world in pc, i run it more than perfect with a rtx4070 desktop (+165fps max settings, 1080p always)... should be a little upgrade from that game, or no... it's very hard to tell only seeing a teaser/trailer 😅

I am wondering why those designers put the audio combo jack on the right side!!!? they really don't understand it's a headache to use a mouse and headphones both at the same time!!?
6:01 Hmm on the sudio AI laptop, i found it extremely misleading how MSI show the wattage used by the laptop usint the camera. For the first, its using the built in camera in the settings, which does not draw much. On the othee hand, the higher wattage drawing laptop was using nvidia broadcast, which uses the dedicated graphics card and doesn’t really care much about power efficiency.
the laptop without NPU has to use Nvidia discrete GPU to do the the effect (if they used CPU I assume it would be even higher) hence the Nvidia Broadcast, while the new one can do it natively on CPU so you can use whichever camera app you want
Big upside of this is that a bunch of 2023 laptops got huge price cuts and are still insanely capable

It would be really helpful for me if someone can please let me know what kind of performance difference can I expect between vector 16 (combined CPU + GPU power 240 watts), and vector 17 (CPU+GPU 250 watts) due to the difference in the maximum combined CPU+GPU wattage? I tried to search for this but haven't found much info yet. Is it worth spending an additional $100 for Vector 17?
Wow!, appears brands have paid a good suite to Jarrod!
5:53 : Jarrod maybe using Hoodie or just Black Jacket. I almost mesmerize seeing that 😅😂
Hey jarrod which laptop should i opt for if i have a budget of about 1300 dollars. For the needs, i need it for high end coding, video editing, vfx and the occasional gaming. Also portability is a factor.
Did you get an answer or decide?
@@dakidcalledl yes I decided on going with the hp omen 60 with 3070 ti and and ryzen 6800 h processor
11:12 I was about to buy the Thin A15 but the one with the Ryzen 5 CPU this is the closest review I can find. Do you have a review for the said laptop?
Hey Jarrod just a quick question: do you have any news from CES 2024 about the new Rtx 4070 Super mobile Gpu and when it will be available in the new laptops?
No news. Not sure it will be happening at all
Big appreciation to MSI.
Which mini pc is powerful and mobile?
@polanialmoni6274 I kinda like the minisforum HX99. I can fit it, a small monitor, mouse, and keyboard in my current bag. But I'd use it at work set up on a desk that I have to sit at all night. I love my laptop, but it gets so damn hot and noisy, and I prefer the separation of components.
@@Elrond_Hubbard1 seems weak for what I'm looking for. Need 4k gaming
MSI is an bit like toyota, old fashioned but is it's robust. Atleast most of the series's
Great video thank you
Would the cyborg 14 be enough to play future games? Like monster hunter wilds and dragons dogma?
Monster hunter wilds no idea to the specs, still 1 year to the launch. But seeing mh world in pc, i run it more than perfect with a rtx4070 desktop (+165fps max settings, 1080p always)... should be a little upgrade from that game, or no... it's very hard to tell only seeing a teaser/trailer 😅
@@SoeZ- 720p 60fps should be enough for me. So hopefully it runs
@@bluefiredemon448 should more than ok, the problem with this laptops sometimes is not the performance, is the cooling system. Im not a huge fan of 'cheap' gaming laptops. At least u can buy a external cooler, helps a bit. And if u can do undervolt (sometimes is very hard with new processors) better.
@@SoeZ- yeah this will be my first time buying a gaming laptop so I'm doing a lot of research.
I have a whole year so I take my time.
And yeah I have considered for a cooling pad
@@bluefiredemon448 ye, there is a lot of variety and prices. Just try to search what u really need and how much you can spend. This channel helps a lot, they are quite objective reviews.
Please can you do a review on the MSI Thin 15
That's good, but I'm still waiting for new alienware laptops with 14th gen intel chips and nvidia super series video!
My MSI Leopard was fab' over the past 6 years, but none of the new ones are calling to me which is a shame as I did love it
I always hoped that MSI stealth series to outperform Razer Blade laptops, but no I lost this hope long time ago and the reason is they don't focus on one or two laptops series but tens of them! I mean wtf MSI
Estoy apunto de comprar una MSI, justo pensaba en la Crosshair 16HX, 32ram, 1tb, 4060 y con su i7 14th.
[ HP Omen Gaming Laptop,AMD Ryzen 7 7840Hs,8Gb RTX 4060 Gpu, 16.1-Inch (40.9 Cm), 140W Tgp, Fhd, IPS, 300 Nits, 165Hz, 16Gb Ddr5, 1Tb Ssd, RGB Backlit Kb, Windows 11 Home(Mso, Black, 2.32 Kg), Xf0060Ax ] how's this one can u tell?
Love the 18 inch 4k!!!
I'm super excited for msi claw

Hi jarrod, do you have a plan to review mini gaming pc like ROG NUC? I heard they also use mobile version for gpu it would be interesting for comparing with laptop.
I am wondering why those designers put the audio combo jack on the right side!!!? they really don't understand it's a headache to use a mouse and headphones both at the same time!!?
Msi titan 2023 vs raider 2024? Whats better
Lenovo LOQ i7 RTX 3050
Or the
Asus TUF A15 i7 RTX 4050?
Need insight 🙏🙏🙏
Lenovo LOQ, best quality laptop on the market, even for gaming. Read the reviews. It gets praised. Best cooling as well.
2:45 192GB for google chrome eh, lol 😂
Does msi gaming laptop better than acer nitro?
I'm really confuse
Yes. Nitro would sit in the Performance section of the pyramid at 12:00
they upgraded their prices too?
was thinking of buying the titan 18 this year, but then i saw the price.... guess ill buy the m18 instead
2:00 ports on the right should not be a thing. I need more space for my mouse
Has there been a new laptop vs desktop comparison yet?
This year im not feeling and having a hard time to choose smh.
Lenovo for reliability and support, asus for innovation & experimental features. Other brands just don't make great laptop.
Where is the Bravo series? With AMD CPU + GPU.
why does the raider 18 also show 270watts in their official website
There will be a war between
Legion Slim 14
Zephyrus G14
Stealth 14
And Transcend 14
MSI's design language is 15 years old. They are certainly not easy on the eyes.
the only problem with the titan is 120hz but everything else is great!😀
I think I will wait for blackwell.
Hi Jarrod'sTech can You please Review the msi Stealth 16 AI Studio A1VHG-027US 16" UHD Gaming Laptop
How long until we see Rtx 4070/4080 Super for laptops?
Why- To get extra 3-5%? Are you THAT HUNGRY ?!
@@cybersuperior2077 at this point better wait for rtx 5000
are they using liquid metal?
So no Bravo and Delta series for Amd? Hmm...
“Finally enough for google chrome” 😂
