Big upside of this is that a bunch of 2023 laptops got huge price cuts and are still insanely capable
ie. Bravo. Ryzen 9 and 4060 for $1700 in Australia is a crazy good deal!
Yes I'm so excited
Any idea when the legion last year ones will go down at price?
Got a 14650hx with full power 4060 for 1400
Thought you weren't going to CES this year, but I'm happy you did! We also get this type of content a bit earlier as well
We weren't sure we were coming. Only decided late last year.
@@JarrodsTech Awesome, hope you're enjoying it!
I am amazed that MSI has not decided to remove laptops like the Cyborg.
Turbo noisy laptop (64dB) even despite maxed out TGP to 45W. Low CPU+GPU limits, poor build quality, poor cooling, very ugly screens.
The Thin+Cyborg 2023 had no advantages. They weren't even cheap 😂
Well they gotta scam the budget community somehow 🤷
😂 😂 Cyborg and Thin are the best sellers
everything is fine but bad screen is unacceptable
often 30ms+ response times in 2023 which is just insane. My 2004 monitor is faster than that
I don't think so. Chepest one will survive. Remove all higher models from Cyborg series except the cheapest and lowest model with old and cheap CPU ( i5-12450H/R5-5620U) + RTX 4050 (45W 6GB) model. And sell them as low price as like $600 (budget office laptop price range), then it will sell like hot cake.
Yep that comes from ignorant buyers who get it for their kids thinking it will be something good for them. Or even adults who know nothing about computers and quality.@@elapostol2011
It'd be madness if they actually leave the sinks exposed like that on the Raider. So many things could damage that by accident.
Yeah you might could also burn your finger if it gets to hot
in their render photos they're covered properly, so I think this is just for showcase or an engineering sample issue only
@@ucle9955 I kinda figure it’s just to show off the heat sinks so people can see there buying a nice product
Those laptops look incredible!! Thanks Jarrod
Love the Insomnium shirt. Their song “The Elder” was one of the handful of songs that propelled me into metal.
I admire MSI's determination to always make the ugliest laptops possible.
100% agree, they look like it is still 2018 xDD. Asus, Razer, Lenovo have much better designs.
Honestly I think their 30 series laptops looked better especially raider series.
I'm definitely interested in the Vector 17 with QHD.. been trying to buy last year Vector GP68 with 4080 but it was sold out everywhere in my country
Was the 10-key on the Titan 18 also cherry mx keys? On the 17, they’re standard membrane. Also curious if the 18 will be receiving the 240hz QHD+ display - that’s the spec I’d go for!
Are the monitors GSYNC for all the laptops?
looking forward to that cyborg 14 🙂
hopefully it's good enough and doesn't have any major pain points.
its msi what do you expect
What do you think about the MSI stealth 16 2023? With i9 13th gen and rtx 4070?
Great video thank you
Hey Jarrod! Just saw your g14/g16 video and now watching this but I was wondering if you could possibly do a review of the new omen transcend 14 with maybe a little comparison between that and the g14? I see a lot of videos about the new g14 but very few about the omen. Thanks for keeping us up to date from CES!
We will have an overview coming up on the Transcend 14 as part of our CES coverage, and hopefully a full review later in the year.
@@JarrodsTech Awesome 👏 Thanks!
Great video, Jarrod. Also great to get a chance to meet you in person!
Thanks! Great to meet you in person too, hope you're having fun at CES.
Thank you much for this video, Jarrod! Why did MSI eliminate the Mini DisplayPort that they had on previous Titan models? This seems like a disappointing downgrade, and it's not like they replaced it with a third Thunderbolt 4 port either!
4:33 FINALLY!
Finally a big change in mid-range/budget laptops.
Ooo it’s not budged. This name belongs to legion
legion is £2k, same specs msi is about £1.4@@michaozga7825
I saw the new Thin in person, the quality is actually worse than the GF63, not kidding. Pure junk, same bad cooling, keyboard etc, they just changed the color lol
12:00 Thank you for this pyramid graphic, all of MSI's different brand names are confusing and I finally understand them now
2:52 Now THAT'S how you do a seamless touchpad so that users actually know where it starts and ends! (I'm looking at you Dell XPS laptops!)
Thank you for providing the Pyramid picture. Vector prices is sky high in my country compared to two years ago, and I wondered what was closest 😁
Hi jarrod, do you have a plan to review mini gaming pc like ROG NUC? I heard they also use mobile version for gpu it would be interesting for comparing with laptop.
Are there MSI gaming laptop have aspect ratio 16:9 with Intel 14th gen & AMD Ryzen & RTX 4000 ?
what is the release date of the laptops ?
4:38 oh raider series with AMD huh, seems interesting (+ additional with katana and thin series)
do you think the new RTX 4070/4080 "super" version cards gonna be build in laptops in the future?
Did they update the hinges?
Hey jarrod which laptop should i opt for if i have a budget of about 1300 dollars. For the needs, i need it for high end coding, video editing, vfx and the occasional gaming. Also portability is a factor.
Did you get an answer or decide?
@@dakidcalledl yes I decided on going with the hp omen 60 with 3070 ti and and ryzen 6800 h processor
Hey Jarrod just a quick question: do you have any news from CES 2024 about the new Rtx 4070 Super mobile Gpu and when it will be available in the new laptops?
No news. Not sure it will be happening at all
Thanks there is ports on the back again , i like the old fashion look, it appeals for me, i have a 10 years old MSI GT60, looks familliar. for the MSI Titan 18 HX, a Msi that i would consider to change my 2013 GT60 in 2025 when the windows 10 supports will end. Happy New year Jarrod, best wishes and health above all for 2024 !
hello sir , can we get the coverage of acer predator series (all - i5 i7 i9)
With new hinges I hope ?
Love the 18 inch 4k!!!
I like the look & specs of the Titan 18, especially the screen, it's also good to see they have made the power supply a bit smaller despite being more powerful, I can see this as my next laptop, would need to know the price first tho?😅
probably over 3k
buddy it’s cheaper to buy a pc if ur buying a laptop over 1.5k it’s not worth it
Honestly I'm waiting for 18 inch midrangers. Although 17 is great seeing we have 18 inchers now I'd be glad to buy something of that grander scale. Gonna wait for a while I suppose. Still pretty good lineup this year. Definitely will look forward to this laptops.
15 inches is plenty for a laptop buddy if ur buying an 18 inch laptop just get a pc that will be cheaper
@@crazygamingyt7245 nah I travel a lot often and live in rural parts to not warrant a PC. It's just better with a desktop replacement.
@@joelconolly5574amen!!! Those who don't travel will never understand why laptops can be favored over desktops
I bought the MSI Stealth 13 a few months ago but had to return it due to touchpad issues. Particularly concerning was that you could get the touchpad to click by applying pressure from underneath the laptop, and it would do so constantly when being used on my laptop. Makes me seriously question their build quality.
Will pressing the palm rest produce enough pressure to click the touchpad?
they upgraded their prices too?
Finally a brand decides to make laptops thicker to accommodate better cooling, upgradability, and being able to move ports to the back!
How About MSI BRAVO 15 C7VE Sir? Is not in your list
why does the raider 18 also show 270watts in their official website
Love your videos Jarrod. You put me onto a great purchase a year or so back with a Legion 5 sporting the 5800H and a 130w 3060, and it is my favorite laptop I've ever had. Recently, I've been getting that itch for something new so I've been consuming all you recent content. Very happy to say that nothing has moved me to upgrade. I don't know, those mini PC's with dedicated graphics paired with a nice portable monitor are looking more appealing.
Which mini pc is powerful and mobile?
@polanialmoni6274 I kinda like the minisforum HX99. I can fit it, a small monitor, mouse, and keyboard in my current bag. But I'd use it at work set up on a desk that I have to sit at all night. I love my laptop, but it gets so damn hot and noisy, and I prefer the separation of components.
@@Sgt.Hairclub seems weak for what I'm looking for. Need 4k gaming
finally big laptops with a centered mouse touch pad... i hate the offset ones that almost all designs have... This should be a worthwhile update if the cooling is up to par to increase the paltry performance with 13980hx
Msi titan 2023 vs raider 2024? Whats better
Has there been a new laptop vs desktop comparison yet?
5:55 - gotta say, you look really awesome in glasses 👍
About the laptops - Raider design is really disappointing, it looks cheap with those red accents, like some budget Acer Nitro or something, except it's supposed to be a premium laptop 🤷♂
Thanks for the info!
so HX CPUs are faster than ultra CPUs atm right
Where is the Bravo series? With AMD CPU + GPU.
Did they update their hinges? 😅
6:01 Hmm on the sudio AI laptop, i found it extremely misleading how MSI show the wattage used by the laptop usint the camera. For the first, its using the built in camera in the settings, which does not draw much. On the othee hand, the higher wattage drawing laptop was using nvidia broadcast, which uses the dedicated graphics card and doesn’t really care much about power efficiency.
the laptop without NPU has to use Nvidia discrete GPU to do the the effect (if they used CPU I assume it would be even higher) hence the Nvidia Broadcast, while the new one can do it natively on CPU so you can use whichever camera app you want
Why does all the MSI laptops look a bit crude and unfinished this year? like for example, the side heat vents are so open with the heat sinks sticking out. This could accidentally bend the heat fins if something small enough hits it.
they're showing off engineering samples here (with not final details, like that light bar on Raider 18). You can see their render photos to have a better idea of how their actual design looks
Lenovo LOQ i7 RTX 3050
Or the
Asus TUF A15 i7 RTX 4050?
Need insight 🙏🙏🙏
Lenovo LOQ, best quality laptop on the market, even for gaming. Read the reviews. It gets praised. Best cooling as well.
Good work, anybody know reteail date?
not yet, but probably feb
Jarrod is nr.1 gaming laptops reviewer, always. And nr.2 is so far far away behind you :-).
Always marvellous contents and comparisons. Top notch -
So no Bravo and Delta series for Amd? Hmm...
5:53 : Jarrod maybe using Hoodie or just Black Jacket. I almost mesmerize seeing that 😅😂
I have a acer nitro but was looking for a back up laptop bought to get one at my local Best Buy for 500 $ lol 1tb storage with a 2050 NVIDIA ? Can’t complain tbh 😊
I am wondering why those designers put the audio combo jack on the right side!!!? they really don't understand it's a headache to use a mouse and headphones both at the same time!!?
2:00 ports on the right should not be a thing. I need more space for my mouse
are they using liquid metal?
Any news about advance optimus on 2024 msi laptops?
We asked and they said no advanced optimus. We will confirm when we get one to review though.
Excited
Wow!, appears brands have paid a good suite to Jarrod!
was thinking of buying the titan 18 this year, but then i saw the price.... guess ill buy the m18 instead
I know you already getting ro it but im waiting on the Asus Strix 2024 various laptop options video qith the new i9 14900hx
I think I will wait for blackwell.
I only interested in Stealth 16, where`s it?
Yes more AMD options, that's what I'm talking about
much better design compared to ROG in recent yrs. love the blend of gaming sportiness (taiwanese brand) & futuristic luxury (alienware) feel. it would look even incredible if MSI decided to go with metal finishing like brushed aluminum. the vents on the stealth looks freaking amazing too. it screams lamborghini
7:51 crosshair res 2560*1440= 16:9, not 16: 10. were mistake?
I confirmed with MSI that there was a mistake on the specs sheet and that it is 2560 x 1600 and not 2560 x 1440
I'm super excited for msi claw
Bruh
Yeaaaaah. I wanna see a review about stealth 16 ai
My MSI Leopard was fab' over the past 6 years, but none of the new ones are calling to me which is a shame as I did love it
Does msi gaming laptop better than acer nitro?
I'm really confuse
Yes. Nitro would sit in the Performance section of the pyramid at 12:00
The TITAN 18 is insanely slimmer than the previous GT77
and the charger is finally slimmer as well!!! Will you review it!?
Also the claw? What's that? Handheld?
We will almost definitely review the Titan 18. Not sure about the Claw. We haven't done much with handhelds in the past and other channels do a better job.
That's good, but I'm still waiting for new alienware laptops with 14th gen intel chips and nvidia super series video!
Would the cyborg 14 be enough to play future games? Like monster hunter wilds and dragons dogma?
Monster hunter wilds no idea to the specs, still 1 year to the launch. But seeing mh world in pc, i run it more than perfect with a rtx4070 desktop (+165fps max settings, 1080p always)... should be a little upgrade from that game, or no... it's very hard to tell only seeing a teaser/trailer 😅
@@SoeZ- 720p 60fps should be enough for me. So hopefully it runs
@@bluefiredemon448 should more than ok, the problem with this laptops sometimes is not the performance, is the cooling system. Im not a huge fan of 'cheap' gaming laptops. At least u can buy a external cooler, helps a bit. And if u can do undervolt (sometimes is very hard with new processors) better.
@@SoeZ- yeah this will be my first time buying a gaming laptop so I'm doing a lot of research.
I have a whole year so I take my time.
And yeah I have considered for a cooling pad
@@bluefiredemon448 ye, there is a lot of variety and prices. Just try to search what u really need and how much you can spend. This channel helps a lot, they are quite objective reviews.
MSI Claw lowkey being some of the cheapest Meteor Lake device is not on my bingo list. Can't wait to see how the new Arc-based iGPU fares to Steam Deck and Z1E, but MSI is really missing out on 32GB ram option for higher tier option
Lets hope the hinges dont crumble like paper
They all look like they will from this video... No more msi just for that reason (which felt like driving a ferrari with no windshield for the last 3 years), thank you and goodbye msi
The stealth always looks so good if you don’t want something that screams gamer for work
always the hinge make me concern
I wish the stealth had the HX cpu 😮💨
[ HP Omen Gaming Laptop,AMD Ryzen 7 7840Hs,8Gb RTX 4060 Gpu, 16.1-Inch (40.9 Cm), 140W Tgp, Fhd, IPS, 300 Nits, 165Hz, 16Gb Ddr5, 1Tb Ssd, RGB Backlit Kb, Windows 11 Home(Mso, Black, 2.32 Kg), Xf0060Ax ] how's this one can u tell?
the only problem with the titan is 120hz but everything else is great!😀
How long until we see Rtx 4070/4080 Super for laptops?
Why- To get extra 3-5%? Are you THAT HUNGRY ?!
@@cybersuperior2077 at this point better wait for rtx 5000
Jarrod i know the video sponsored but be real with me man. Based on your knowledge, is it in any possible way this laptop will cool as good or even better than the gt77 with that cooling setup?
With vapor chamber cooler and more power, probably. The GT77 out of the box was often beaten by 16" laptops that could give more juice to the CPU, so now having 400W charger should help.
@@JarrodsTech Yea I know the Lenovo pretty much stumped everything but I really don't want a 16 inch screen. That's the only thing that kills it for me. The 9i looked great but even the 7i performs better than that due to throttling so I had to get that off my list unfortunately. Thanks for the reply mate
review for new loq 15?
Coming up next week.
Min 2:42 - 192 GB RAM, "finally! Enough for Google chrome" LOL
waiting for crosshair
I always hoped that MSI stealth series to outperform Razer Blade laptops, but no I lost this hope long time ago and the reason is they don't focus on one or two laptops series but tens of them! I mean wtf MSI
are there no laptops with the new Nvidia super graphics cards?
No, Super cards haven't been announced for laptops.
Cyborg 15 and Thin with RTX 4060 at 45w? 😅
The bigger question is do these things have advance optimus, especially the Raider and Titan, because really, $3000+ laptop with no advance optimus. Wtf
It's 2024 dude, ofc they have advanced optimus.
@@rajyavardhansingh4491 last year they didn't have advanced optimus
My new Katana 15 B12VGK has a QHD 165Hz display instead of the official FHD 144Hz display. Idk why my spec is different from the official spec.
Any news from Lenovo?
I like the cyborg 14.
I like this 2 year cadence. Odd number year is a new class of GPUs and significan upgrade to CPUs. Even years are iterations and improvements in the other hardware, and maybe a decent upgrade to GPU and CPU performance
Loved the ram joke about Chrome....LOL
Just as i bought and got a GF63, MSI launched the Thin 15 man. so sàd
does msi’s war on vrr continue into 2024 😢
2:45 192GB for google chrome eh, lol 😂
