This is my amazing Traditional Irish Music class performing a concert in Sweden, December 2013. The concert was held in our classroom on Visingsö where we studied and played Irish Traditional Music together. Many thanks to our teacher Jennikel Andersson who made this possible.
In America: Were having a party. Everyone be sure to bring the beer and chips
In Ireland: Were having a party, everyone remember to bring your instruments.
Ireland: Bring your instruments and beers
for an irish party (a session) you need beer and music.
In Ireland, you don't NEED to tell people to bring the booze...!!
@@ItzDinny for an Irish party all you need is love. Oh and drink helps 😂
❤
How glorious were the ancient ones! How much beauty they left behind! Let us never forget 😊
My Mother was born on Inishere, I spent 6 weeks every Summer there, happiest days of my life ❤
My parents were born in Mallow Co Cork - I spent 6 weeks every Summer there, happiest days of my life ❤❤

I went there seven years ago. It was lovely!
A year later, tears still stream down my face listening to this on St. Patricks Day, thinking of my grandparents from Ireland... Kilmovee, Co Mayo. God Bless the Irish. I’m so lucky to have such rich heritage. Now that they’re all gone, music like this brings them back in my heart.
I'm irish
Nxt door to my mothrs family farm"Barrettes., connammarra. Ireland.
Born 'raised on this music. Cant beat it'👍🏽
Mayo too. Swinford.
My husband's employer is from Kilmovee. He's a great man 😃🍀❤️
@@RobJDoran my father's from Mayo. Lisamalanee, just outside of Swindord.
Keep this alive, Ireland. Do not let yourselves be persuaded to let it die. It is too precious.
Awesome...Pure Celtic Gold..what a soul stirring sound
This was one of my first Irish airs that I learned on my Killarney brass whistle in the key of D. A very pretty and graceful song.
I got the same whistle, best High D I've ever had
Long live Ireland! Hello from Russia!
Irish music just does it every time. An mhaith!
I understand. A gifted person to play any music 🎶 do when alone brings tears, and often unwanted feelings.
I'm Croatian i Love Irish music Irish People and Ireland i'm 54 yo i don't know why but i have always Irish music and Ireland in my Head and i love that love IRELAND Forever and always.
Beautiful thank you from the frozen north of Canada!
Thank you for this beautiful song. It made me break down in tears thinking of all of my family who are now gone. I lost my mom in February. Her parents were from County Mayo. This music brought me back to younger times when we would visit my grandparents in the Catskills where nothing but Irish music was played. Grandma dancing with her apron on and grandpa clapping his hands while he smoked his pipe. Such wonderful memories. Thank you.
that sounds so lovely dear god
Much love and power to you!
It's in your blood my friend
Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Lovely story. My own mother was Co.Mayo.
Sorry for your loss my friend I to lost my father in 2011 and my wife of 36 years in 2018 May the music bring you happiness & peace 🍻
What a pleasant surprise.
Marvelous.
I listened to it three times over, still couldn't encompass the capture.
The flute. Its notes has the quality of infinity. Yet, too high a pitch.
Glory to the people of Ireland.
Their traditional music is astounding.
I am bewildered in awe.
The Beauty of this group made me, smile, Cry, and Hope for Culture and Beauty in our World ...
True, my friend
amen
Isn’t this beautiful..from Newfoundland and I listen to this all day
As a full blooded Irishman in the USA, and a performance musician for most of my life, acoustic music reaches the innermost cavity of the human experience. Acoustic music touches the infaimed from Dementia or Alzheimer's, to the young and old. Music is a spiritual gift and when shared God's people are blessed. Great performance here. Bravo!
Just so beautiful to listen to this you just want to sit back and have a nice drink and think about the good old days 🎵🎶🇮🇪🥃🍻😍👍
I can't help but relate this to Scandinavian folk music, and also Celtic music from Spain. Being descent from the Basque, I found it very familiar. We may speak different languages and have different skin/hair color but it seems that we share a common Celtic culture. Congratulations! Love from Argentina.
I thought the Basques were descended from the people in Europe before the Celts and other Indo-Europeans arrived.
@@thomasacreman6007 Basque and Irish exact same DNA they found out in a study a while back.
but i know a lot of very fair Vascos! and Gallegos are very fair....
Absolutely beautiful music! After living in Ireland for 2 yrs and Im getting love this country more & more......
J'adore le folklore Irlandais et la musique Irlandaise , c'est trop beau ça me plaît !! 👍👌👏🎻
Je n'aurais pas dit mieux 😊
I feel a connection with Irish music and im an African American woman that loves Ireland roots and traditions oh and the instruments absolutely beautiful. My daughter loves this particular song also 💗💗💗
I hopre you get to visit Ireland it is a grand & beautifl place
I met a beautiful black Frenchman in Cork City. He lives there, knows the musicians, and plays guitar & sings himself. He sang "City of New Orleans" in French & it was so great. I have always loved that song. He also sang in English and was quite talented.
You might have a little Irish in your ancestry that you're not aware of.
My daughter calls me the language police. You should say a woman "who" loves not "that" loves....." Who" refers to a person; "that" refers to an object. Anyway I am an Irish-Italian woman with a black daughter. We both love Irish music and Irish people, and the beautiful country of Ireland. I took my daughter there twice and i have been 7 times. I also took my son & he loved Ireland as well as the music.
come and see us
This music 🎶 grabs your soul. Iam blessed to full blooded Irish American, and proud of my heritage. 🇺🇲🇮🇪🇺🇲🇮🇪🇺🇲🇮🇪🇺🇲🇮🇪🍀🍀🍀
I am of Irish heritage and an Irish Fiddler, I have watched four of your jam session videos and just love all of them (Britches Full of Stitches, others). I wish I could join your Jam Session, but you are all over in Sweden. Since this is four years old, I am sure all of these fine young people are gone now. Thank you for your lovely music.
My family buried my father and this tune was played in the middle of the mass - RIP John Mulrooney 9/12/1930 - 15/9/2018 - i am immensely proud of you Dad. An unworthy son!
When a parent passes, you can still become worthy as you carry on. So don't beat yourself up Jim M.
i am sure your dad was a great man you pay him great respect RIP John Mulrooney

umchazinhoquente My trad group plays this song often , we are ages 9-15 (I’m 13 and play the fiddle, flute, mandolin and Tin whistle)
It's beautiful music like this that got me into Irish dancing. I love Irish music and this is so beautifully played.
It's a beautiful night in Missouri, the moon bright in the night. This music just carries you up with the stars as you watch clouds waltzing across the face of the moon.
_The composer of this tune Thomas Walsh is a friend and I have often sung with him at sessions. A beautiful melody no doubt_
Man I really wish we had this where I live, it speaks to my heart and soul.
Not to be found in Iowa usa unfortunately 😟
I think this is amazing, beautiful and it makes me so emotional listening to it, you are all so talented and I hope you still love Irish music today as it is 2017 as I post this. I hope you took no notice of the critics, sometimes raw natural talent is best, you should be very proud, Greetings from Ireland xx

This is such a beautiful, peaceful Melody. Well done. Thank you...
Inisheer is one of my favourite places in the world, there's something magical about it.
Don't cry for me Argentina 💪🦁👑
I stumpbled across this a year ago, about 3 months ago I bought a flute, at the tender age of 43 years I started playing it. Played a little everyday and today I brought out the sheet music for this and tried playing it. It felt so awsome and I would never have started my journey if it wasn't for this video so. Tack så jättemycket för inspirationen! Mvh Anders
Very best of luck with your music ambitions, it's lovely to read this. Kind regards from Ireland.
Kärlek till Sverige, från Irland 💙
I started at the tender age of 56! I am an empty nester so I have some time now .

Hermoso, me encanta este tipo de música.... saludos desde México ¡¡❤🌹
Celtic touch. So special. Lovely to listen to the youth carry the flame on to future generations. This is classic Irish folk music.
Great, great, great. I love Irish music.
Greetings from Germany. :D
Irish traditional Celtics music and songs are beautiful.
Oh my God that was AWESOME!!! I got wicked chills when the strings kicked in! Ugh. That was beautiful! Proud to be Irish American myself!
Stop😑
YOU ARE THE VOICES OF THE PAST... THE ANCIENT ECHOES... THANKS..!
FROM ARGENTINA...
One of the best Irish tunes ever!!
A descendant of County Mayo checking in. To me, listening to music such as this is like hearing the calling of an ancient and noble voice echoing through the corridors of time. Many thanks to these fine and talented Swedish students for doing such a grand job.
Love listening to this every year coming up to st. Patrick's Day and for the 364 days after it 🇮🇪🇮🇪
Amazing piece of music. So beautiful ❤
This is surely one of the best tunes ever written as it can be played equally as well as a Waltz or an Air with a 3/4 6/8 or 2/4 lilt. Very well written Mr.Walsh. Please note this tune is not Traditional and the writer should be credited.(Thomas Walsh) That said I do believe Thomas Walsh released it into the Public Domain but still deserves credit. Nice performance which is expected from Irish Folk musicians who seem to be born playing.
Trad has to start somewhere. This one will last!
Thank you for the information. However, I believe that these musicians are Swedish, not Irish.
@@Ukuleleobrade the little introduction is a bit of a giveaway.

Greetings from Bulgaria to all my Irish brothers and sisters. lovely piece :-)
Beautiful!!! It sounds a sea, wind, plane and a heart of Irish!
Nice, I like Irish folk music. While listening to this, I felt like I was at some medieval fantasy castle party...
To me this music is always music of the sea..
Kate Judson well “Innis” means Island so you judged it right.😀
I Heard A Summer Swan, Call On The Stillness Of The Air,
I Heard A Blackbirds Song ------- Then I Knew ----- That You Were Near
My Heart So Long Alone, It Took My Soul Alone To Hear -------
All The Hunger Of My Life ------- Was Just To Know That You Were Near
There Were So Many Endless Years, Of A Longing Ever Near,
Yet Somehow Distant From This Life ---- Until I Knew That You Were Near
So Many Lonely Endless Nights, Days When I Knew Not Where,
Still Yet The Hunger Of My Soul, I Found At Last ------- That You Were Near
I Heard A Summer Swan, Call On The Stillness Of The Air,
I Heard A Blackbirds Song ------ Then I Knew ------- That You Were Near
Now I Can Never Be Alone, Now I Know That You Are Near,
Now I Know The Longing Of My Soul ------ Is Just To Know ------- That You Are Near -------

I fucking ❤️ Irish music.
Love love love all of you. Best music ever
I’m Scotch-Irish and am at a crossroads as to which culture I’m more proud to be descended from.
Hi pal, I've read your note and noticed the error immediately. The scotch-irish are Scottish people who spent a number of decades, a generation or two in Ulster, the region in the north of Ireland. before a combination of the political situation there, and the enticement of a land, where they could govern themselves, i.e. where they did not have the English trying to control them. They moved en massed to the Appalachian area of the states. Their influence can be heard in the bluegrass music. You should read about the battle of kings mountain, to learn about how fearsome they valued the freedom they attained in America. In that battle they decimated, captured a whole English army. Very interesting to read about the battle. They had been fighting the English for centuries in Scotland and they didn't come all the way across the Atlantic to be subjugated under the English crown, again. The ferociousity of their tactics in that battle, 8s something to note. Stay easy and be well friend, Brian, Kilkenny Ireland.
Matthew McCallister Why not both.
@@brianbyrne3003 why do people lump Scottish and Irish people together can't stand bag pipes don't eat hagus or wear kilts in Ireland 2 very different people not even on the same island lol
Grazie mille ciao.
Thank you for the music. May God blessing all of us and all people in earth planet for giving the best we are for earth planet future
This was lovely, really makes your proud of being Irish~🍀
I love all music (though I don't really 'get' rap), but in my opinion Irish traditional music seems to combine the feelings of love, sorrow and beauty of Nature all into one brief moment. I have never heard anyone else's traditional music nail this combination of emotions so well. Well done, Ireland! Play on.
Quality. A proper tune played on proper instruments. This is what being Irish is about.
The most beautiful music on this green earth.
ooooo soo wonderful and heart touching,
I play this on my harp a lot. wonderful tune. You guys did a great job.
I love it your great Paul p England x x x x x and I miss Ireland ☺❤
This is so beautiful and I watched it many times and enjoyed it so much. Thanks for this.
Beautiful, thank you for posting this.
Super schön! Fühle mich sofort besser wenn ich die tolle Musik höre! Vielen dank! Liebe grüße!
What is funny though is that this Swedish group Inisheer have got almost treble the amount of hits on ytube than even a technically more complex and diverse performance from an equivalent Irish group. What does that tell me about Irish music?
As I wrote previously good luck to you Inisheer. You sound great.
BEAUTIFUL

very peaceful song, thank you.
