- Echo: The Hills of Kaitoke (Catherine Fraser) / Aye Right (Angus R. Grant)
Talisk showed Celtic Colours audiences why they are one of the fastest-rising folk groups in the U.K. these days. This lively set of tunes was recorded during one of the Scottish trio’s first performances in Cape Breton, Craic’n Cabaret at Membertou Trade and Convention Centre on October 8, 2017.
Amazing fiddle and squeezebox...guitar is keeping right up too! Wow
This is that music that people can't help but move and dance to. Bless this damn lovely expression
Thank you for this! I'm in North Carolina USA and found this group during COVID and and cannot thank you enough for this amazing music during this chaotic time!
Irresistible. When I hear "Echo" somewhere in the house, my feet start moving. When I watch this video, I find myself clapping and drumming and imagining to be a part of this group. I guess I´m not the only one.
One thing and another, my hands won't play the fiddle any more and my voice is beginning to weaken. But aren't these young people lovely?
Beautiful
Intercat ......Continue then to play music from your heart dear friend. It can tell it's beautifully in tune :)
My shoulders were what stopped me playin fiddle. Too much weird stretching! It’s all mando now.
music is in the heart
Losing our abilities and talents is a sad but inevitable part of the cost of growing old. But I'll never stop loving this music!
Perfect!
That was really wonderfull!!!
Sweet and nice! Love it!
I think there's smoke coming off that squeezebox.
Yeah, and he's gonna throw his neck out. But isn't it glorious!
Lovely Video. Great.
Epic. A beautiful melody and no less exquisite performance. Greetings from Poland, from the city of Będzin where the Celtic Music Festival has been held for many years and where the "Galway" dance group comes from
wow this is perfect
It's 2020 and I see real humans playing beautiful music!
literally bro, holy crap!

@@Frankybeanselevators You're far too clever for me. That's for sure. ^^
yass
Man that second tune just gets me every time I hear it in any capacity... the concertina melody
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Alucinante :).
So glad I discovered this sound. Pure magic.
His jeans were perfect at the beginning of the performance.
Neil Pell loves it fills my heart
6:40- when the world around you ceases to be, the walls close in and nothing exists other than the ethereal realm between you and your fellow players. 100% pure, unadulterated, raw, and genuine Craic. Thank you for sharing this magic with the world
Perfect description! Sometimes during a really good concert, my husband & I exchange a look that says...."If we suddenly died righ at this moment, we would die as two happy people." lol
@@joannemacdonald5400Lovely description ❤
These guys are brilliant. I hope they come tour in the US soon.
They were in the States during the summer - I saw them at Milwaukee Irish Fest in August for 3 consecutive nights, and they blew the roof off the joint every performance.
WOWW!! THEY'RE ALWAYS AWESOME. Amazing team. God bless ya all.
Beautiful tune by Catherine Fraser (Great Australian/Scottish fiddler) Good to hear her tunes played worldwide :)
1st time hearing them - I could listen all day - amazing talent - thanks and God bless you each
Thankful for Toe tapping lively music by Talisk, going to a Celtic Colours Festival is on my to do list. Praise God for the joy that Talisk
has shared, and for working through the equipment and algorithms that make it accessible to many. Also, when possibleremember to support local musicians.
I just adore this sound...I could listen to this all day. Love it!
A TRULY MAGNIFICENT TRIO !!!
Love this piece of music, Love their energy.
Such fantastic music. I keep playing it again and again. Wish I could hear you live here in Sweden
My Ears Hear....My Heart Lifts..My Body Wants to Move... many thanks..♀️🌬️🎭
A lovely mix of delicacy and power in this performance. I still can't believe that such a big complex sound is coming from only three musicians.
Celtic Colours is a wondrous event. Musicians of highest caliber descend on Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in October. The autumn colours, the seafood and down home cooking, the people, the wildlife, the music -- it's quite an experience!
Lovely time❤
If only coffee tasted as good as this sounds
Divine. Gaelic soul and God's spirit.
Kelts are awaking with your tune and the first playing is so sweet, amazing ! thank you in deep. A fiddler from Alsace France. Long live to you. I love.....love.......
One of the greatest musical compositions I have heard; great synergy!
ROCKIN OUT!! LOVE THIS
Love this video!
I was trying to eat roast chicken, but this music made me cry
"What the hell just happened there??
"Serenity.. then joy, my friend"
.
.
"and then....just some fun"
"Oh. Okay, then."
"Cool"
One word whathefuckbloodyamazingmindblown
So rocking and driving this version of Aye Right is, they've completely revamped that tune. Also, I believe though Aye Right is in E major, it avoids D-sharp notes, kinda funny haha but definitely more playable on fiddle.
Fabuleux je ne m'en lasse pas !!!
An absolute masterpiece, performed with full concentration on the music and at the same time with great joy of playing and dedication to the music.
wow! vous avez la celtique "patate "patate, ça veut dire que vous êtes très bons.J('aime, aime, aime.....
So good to hear music played "straight from the heart!"
So fantastic.
quite stunning musicianship. Wow.
Nice way to round off the weekend with a wee dram
The 🎻 player rivals any of the Corr sister's in beauty and talent
The melody started beautifully but at 5:14 turned into sublime.
Siete fantastici!! Starei ore ed ore ad ascoltarvi suonare
Oh that was so satisfying. Some day I want to visit Cape Breton and be a part of such a musical experience. I always felt connected to my Celtic roots and this really strengthens that feeling. Beautiful music. Thanks so much!
Cape breton? Where is that? Once you get bearings right come to Scotland of Ireland. We have all the culture, music and philosophy you will ever need
@Lux Fer Some day I will. My family were from an area near Glasgow, Scotland. A part of the country once settled and controlled by the Irish seafaring people, the Dalriadans. So even though I see my roots in Western Scotland, my Irish roots go even deeper. 😊👍🏼🏴🇨🇮🇬🇧🇨🇦
@@hobartbrown4441 come home my berethen
@@hobartbrown4441 oh my old soul. Dalriada is our old kingship. From the days when we settled the Scottish isles
@Lux Fer, That's fantastic! It's a pleasure!!
Thanks, from Mexico.
Anyone know the name of the first tune. So lovely
Hi Susan, here's info on this set - Echo: The Hills of Kaitoke (Catherine Fraser) / Aye Right (Angus R. Grant)
@@celticcolours Oh - looks like the info was right in front of me but I missed it. Thanks for the response. Beautiful music!!
How lovely to be taken away to Ireland in these time of "stay home", thanks to all artists!
Only they're not Irish
Reminds us of what´s really important, doesn´t it? We´re not going to forget that, hopefully!
I love these musicians. RIP Angus R. Grant, missed so much.
Soo draíochtiúil : lean ar aghaidh libh 👍
those jeans were new yesterday
Wowwww fantastic 👏👏👏 Wonderful 😍😍❤❤❤💕
wow wonderful merci merveilleux namaste
Totally FANTASTIC
Without competition (Biden/Harris) we would never end up with this. Got it? everybody would get a participation medal and music would be shit .kinda like what you have in Hollywood now shit. Got it
Once I aspired to play the concertina, but hey, this guy excels anyone's expectations for excellence with a difficult instrument. I know, I played Highland bagpipes.
Not enough views, man... this is pure awesome. :o
Just wonderful!
I love Celtic music, it's magic, Congratulations to you
My grandfather used to dum da diddle me on his knee to Scots music . Brings back happy memories. And sad sometimes he dropped me on the fleer
I am so angry with them, they distract me from my work
Not their fault- yours. You listen. Ha.
that was so lovely. brought a tear of joy to my eyes.
This is fekin gorgeous thank you
if perfection existed...
Celte, Wales, Europa
OMG
The music just took me back in time. Very moving violin sound💜💜💜🦄🌈
Are you fukn kidding me ! WoW
I am a really fun of this music, so i ask anybody outthere a few questions, what means talisk?, who is the composer or colabores whith arrangements?
Amazing! Those are some fast fingers!
What a great performance.
I really like the pizzicato on the violin.
Eire is a magic Island! You can breath there and everything feels right! It’s a warm embrace and so is their music ❤️
This was recorded in Nova Scotia, Canada. Talisk's musical style shares some aspects with Irish, and indeed they play some Irish tunes, but the band is from Scotland and most of the music in Nova Scotia harkens back to Scottish style (hence "New Scotland" as the island's name).
@@PawsAndKeys the "Scottish Style" aka Irish mac 2
Eire and alba are one and the same. We are gaels and proud of it. We gave the world our music, art, and philosophy and asked for nothing in return and yet we have been persecuted for a thousand years.
KindOfMaroon The Island is called Cape Breton Island which is in the province of Nova Scotia - Alba Nuadh (New Scotland). I am from there and the music and culture are in ones bones. Our ancestors were booted out of the Highlands of Scotland so that the English could put sheep on the land. I am the seventh generation removed from Scotland. Lots of Scottish history to learned here. The people here have always kept up the Scottish traditions.
@@PawsAndKeys you,re right. the scots brought their traditional music and stepdance to canada.
Fab tune. We still need to buy Mohsen some new trousers though...
Head bangin' celtic!
Beautiful
Magic. 🤩👍
Holy Fuck
Two questions: What kind of concertina is he playing? Also, does anyone know the tuning of the guitar?
KindOfMaroon Jeffries; DADGAD
It's an "Anglo" concertina (not "English" - the two are quite different). Visual clues: anglos have the wriststrap, english have a thumb strap (and rest for the pinky.)
He's in standard! Not DADGAD. Got no capo and he keeps on hitting the low open E string.
I wondered about the concertina too and did some searching. It looks like it could be a "New Swan Concertina".
No, I've done some more searching and I think I'm wrong. The "New Swan" has a similar look, but Mohsen's is fancier, and I'm sure more expensive.
bravo bRAVO
Thank you, Talisk! Wonderfully played!
so beautiful ♥
This music makes me feel very sad because I miss my hometown called cape Breton Island Nova Scotia Canada and the water
Why did you leave in the first place?
Your name suggests you really miss your ancient homeland. Come home brother
@@luxfer7794 yes! Return to whence you came.
