    When i was younger, i was homeless and the youth shelter would make the regular stouffers lasagna and the veggie one, so veggie lasagna became a "comfort" food. Now that im older and in a much better place, i figured i should learn to make veggie lasagna myself.

    This looks so yummy !! I think this would be a great alternative to having lasagna with meat. I haven’t boiled lasagna noodles in forever, I find that most of the time it is unnecessary, but most of the time I make my lasagna I’m my crockpot. I think this looks so good, I will need to try this soon!

    Wow - great video! I LOVE vegetable lasagna (but can’t stand classic meat lasagna or when any dish is overpowered with acidy tomatoes). And I abhor sugar in my entrees! I’m shocked that it can be made without pre-boiling the noodles! Now that I know, I see a new world in my future! I’m not vegetarian, but love vegetables of nearly every kind. I’m thinking all those you used, plus maybe zucchini, asparagus, and my garden’s fresh basil! Too, I’m big on smoked paprika, smoked cheeses, and bacon, so might add a token amount of those. Finally, I might agree with your wife that a crispy bottom course of noodles might be great (is it like a corner brownie)?

    The real surprise is there's no ricotta cheese. I'm gonna make this bad boy but iunno about anyone else, at least 2 cups farm fresh are going in. That's going to kick up that béchamel a serious notch. Also pre cooked noodles. Normally just soaked in pretty warm water for 15 minutes instead of hoping extra water works.

    • @Passionforfoodrecipes

      Yeah poured it around the 4 corners as I was talking about it! I'm a sneaky pourer I guess 😎

    • @piccieprints
      @piccieprints Рік тому

      @@Passionforfoodrecipes lol @sneaky pourer :) we could see you pour. I'm curious, did it affect the taste at all, as in water it down? In the UK my mum in law makes a white sauce, but it's saucy enough to pour all over the lasagne to the point there is enough liquid to cook her dry pasta sheets. I'm curious if you would ever simply try more white sauce and no water?

    • @Passionforfoodrecipes
      @Passionforfoodrecipes  Рік тому

      @@piccieprints well this style of vegetable lasagna already has the white sauce on it! The water that gets added doesn't change the flavor at all, it's just enough water for the pasta to absorb so that it's cooked by the end 😁
      When I do a regular meat and tomato lasagna especially if I pre-cook the noodles I love adding some extra cream sauce on top, something I learned a long time ago from Alton Brown

    • @Passionforfoodrecipes

      It should be in most grocery stores, sometimes labeled "accent" In the USA. also super cheap on amazon! It's great especially for veggie dishes as that umami flavor can shine, all that jazz about it being bad has been debunked by lots of studies over the years
