Dario is a great addition to Loam Wolf. He gives real opinions and isn't afraid to let us know true performance ratios backed by geo stats and overall ride experience.
Stack height and bottom bracket height are just as important as reach. Would love to see more discussion around this and and how it alters body position.
I've put a megneg on mine, makes it even more supple off the top and more mid stroke. With full of negative bands and no spacers in positive it ramps up great. Loses it bottlemless feel that you get with original aircan and can feel the ramp up. Shock Stroke is great for bigger riders for lower pressures. Perfect for East Kootenay jank.
Great review as always but really how hard is it to just say, "i'm 5'10" or whatever when also saying reach was too much, I prefer 475 - 480 or whatever. We at least know Dario? Mario? is 6'3 and liked the reach, but im 5'10 how can I relate !!!
Thanks for a great review- nice to see one that’s not top of the line. I have one of these on order in a Medium so hopefully that resolves some of the balance issues, otherwise sounds perfect for what I want it for!
Can always trust Canyon to make one of the better value propositions in the line up. If you are on a budget don't forget that Canyon is one of the few brands that also makes an equally capable, yet significantly cheaper, alloy version as well.
@@b4bnik That is true, however with the exception of a shorter than preferred chainstay (not that big a deal, and irrelevant with S and M frames) this seems like a great frame.
@@323johnnybravo I get the reason they do it and it makes sense when dealing with more entry level/budget bikes. Once you start getting to this level of bike, it should be more common than it is.
@@William.N I agree they should have size specific chain stays but Canyon also needs to get their Quality control figured out first. Their frames snap far too easily.
Hi there - I am wondering - the rear suspension of the Torque - is it single pivot type or? If single pivot - maybe the stiffness that you mentioned comes from that? What do you think?
Did you guys have any issues with the BB shell.? Ive seen alot of the other models especially the Spectrals who have the BB shell debonding from the frame. Canyon have been very good with waranties from what ive heard but some people have gone through up to three frames in a very short period of time.
@@jf4660 L feels alot better. I know some people choose M for more playful riding, but I can't rly agree because the M feels too small just like you said. Get a Large, you will not regret it! Good luck!
Like the look of canyon bikes but unfortunately the amount of people that have had problems with there customer service when needed to get issues sorted is bad been told stay away they are a nightmare trying get your bike fixed and there is alot of people spoken to who said never again get a canyon
i think depends where you live, Canyon AUS/NZ service is the best of any brand ive ever experienced. no doubts exchanged my frame from a manf defect(bb shell crack) had new frame arrive and they paid to rebuild the bike. 2 weeks all sorted and back on bike, I went away from that batch and with the release of the next batch that happend on 26th oct i bought anther... at worst they replace the frames anyway

Thank you
Troy Brosnan won the downhill at Crankworx Cairns on a Canyon Torque!
It’s amazing how much overlap there is between enduro and full downhill bikes these days.
That’s why I bought one 🔥
Stack height and bottom bracket height are just as important as reach. Would love to see more discussion around this and and how it alters body position.
I like some bb drop, puts weight below axles for stability but then deadness playfulness too. Everything is give and take.

Love to see this video just got a canyon torque al 5 and I’ve been loving it especially jumping👍🏻
Great to hear!

You guys rule. You should add a 5’9” test rider! An east coast shredder maybe… I know a guy!
Great review series! Thanks guys
Haha thank you very much! We'll keep ya in mind.
I enjoy this series with the way bikes are you could do an Enduro bike shoot out twice a year.

Just bought the Canyon Torque CF8 mullet XL , for Squamish steeps and Whistler bike park. I'm 6'4" and usually ride a Spectral L.
That’s a beautiful bike I absolutely love Canyon bikes
I’m 6’6”. Might have to look at the canyon next
Or XXL Transition
I’d love to see y’all get your hands on some Propain bikes and hear your thoughts on them
So would we. Rob in the UK has spent quite a bit of time on them but we havent ridden any stateside...yet. Hoping to get our hands on some next year.

Good value doesnt fix a bad frame

Bikes should have size specific chainstays. It feels odd there are so many bikes don't have that.
It’s more expensive. It makes sense that a consumer direct wouldn’t do it to cut costs.

no we did not. And we've had this bike for nearly a year.
I got to try a 29in
how much travel front and rear?
you mentioned , the Codes R aren't your favorite brakes....what are your favorite?
TRP's Trail EVO and DH-R Evo
Awesome cool epik bike lovit❤❤❤🤘👍
Thanks for another good video 👍👍
Thanks for watching!
Seems like this bike in the smaller sizes and mullet would be the Canyon freeride king. In this size full 29? Probably take a Strive
Luckily it is available in 27.5 and mullet for freeriders.
Fun and fast bike!
Oh my gosh another video thumbs up 👍
Hope you enjoyed it! And thanks for watching!
