The first thing you need to do is enable the Skeletal mesh editing tools plugin !!! For a long time I didn’t understand why I didn’t have a conversion button !
Exactly what I was looking for to get started experimenting. I can now make my stickman character modeling / animating everything inside unreal. All I was finding was full character skeleton tutorials, usually imported from another program. Thanks for doing this.
Bro Casually Forgot to Tell you to add the Plugins!!! In case you are wondering where the convert to skeletal mesh button is missing just add the skeletal mesh plugins
Hi again. So I opened up UE 5,3 and there is no blue editing tool box thingi. Yes I clicked on the "skeleton mesh". So I don't have the tools for editing and creating the skeleton. Any ideas? :-) Thanx again!
Is anyone having problem with sockets attached to the bones created in unreal? Attached components to those sockets always displays in the root bone of character

OMFG! Thank you for this comment! I spent 1 hour, trying to edit this f...ng skeleton of my mesh.
Good stuff, they are making it so you don't have to rely on DCCs for small things like this anymore
Thanks Jonathan! Its so cool to be able to do more in the same place. Unreal Engine is fast becoming a DCC.
DCC? Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders?

Years....for years I've been begging Unreal Engine to have this feature.....I can't express how awesome it is to finally have it
Thank you for the tutorial, i look forward to seeing more videos related to this new feature in unreal.
Love your content. Keep making content. I love your platform and you have so much wisdom to share to young up and coming filmmakers.

Thank you for making this. Do you know if you can retarget animations from blender to the rigs you create in skeletal editor?
Yes, retargeting is great in UE now, much easier
Thank you! So very helpful!
Hello, can you please do a tutorial for using morph targets with Control rig? Face morph targets with Control Rig. And a bicep flex with Control Rig?
Hi, how can you add separate meshes to the same armor, for example to create the skeleton of a weapon with magazine, Shell ejector, trigger etc?
Is it possible to copy other skeleton and paste it to a new in this tool?
NICE! PLEASE HOW TO ANIMATE IN SEQUENCE
How did you get to editing tools in skeletal mesh viewport? I am trying to add bones. Did you add a plugin to UE5.3?

Any reason why your bones would disappear in the Skeleton Tree after applying your skin to the bones?
