This arrangement was from Club For Five from Finland. Tim contacted their bass Tuukka and asked if Home Free could use this arrangement. He of course said yes. I think Tim only added the echo in the one section.
One of their very best ! Having double bass possibilities with Chance and Tim gives Home Free such a rich sound ... all their tenor possibilities give that crisp , angelic sound when they need it , IMHO ! These guys are very special ... thanks for reacting to them !
Thank you, and I’m glad you enjoyed. They are absolutely amazing and I love listening to their versions. All of them are such fantastic singers and performers ❤️
It's difficult to give this performance the full respect it deserves -- wow! Whenever Home Free goes for 5-part harmony, you get something special that is their own, even when the beautiful arrangement is not their own. It's also hard to find 5 different notes in a chord that fit neatly together without a creative use of dissonance, and Home Free's blends always bring that off with mastery. I love it when Chance and Tim share the lead -- their deep voices work so well together. Thanks for a great reaction.
Thank you, I’m glad you liked it. Five part harmonies are indeed hard, so often it’ll be using dissonance or octavation. (Not sure what it’s in English. 😅 layering same note in octaves)
He sung it absolutely perfectly, so great. The moment someone can make me feel so much by just singing I just appreciate and love what they do even more.
Thank you for a wonderful reaction to this Thale. When it comes to doing songs of reverence, no one is better than Home Free! They know when to keep it simple and let the song and the words speak for themselves. Their 5 part harmonies sound like a pipe organ in this song. Just love these boys! ❤ #HomeFree
@@ThalesMusicCorner Might want to listen to HomeFree’s version of “Helplessly Hoping “ and also one of their original songs “Playing With Fire “ both are extremely excellent examples of their vocal abilities
The Falklands War was a major war between the United Kingdom and Argentina. This war saw both nations fighting over ownership of the Falkland Islands as well as South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands. The war lasted from 2nd April to 14th June, 1982 and claimed the lives of 258 British soldiers. The events of the war were what inspired the lyrics of this tune, which sees the narrator(Mark Knopfler) singing from the point of view of a severely injured soldier who is about to die on the battlefield. His comrades stay by his side as he prepares to depart the earth. In bidding his fellow soldiers farewell, he tells them not to worry, for “every man has to die”. In his final words, he tells them how foolish “we” are “to make war on our brothers in arms”. By this, he means they should never have fought the opposing soldiers, who he considers their “brothers”. In his eyes, the war was pointless.
Thanks for the background info, I did not know this ❤️ I know parts of the history surrounding the Falklands War, just not the part about the song. ☺️❤️
I have always been a fan of this song by Dire Straits but think Home Free did an excellent version of this song. Tim's natural breathy bass was awesome along with Chance's smooth baritone & loved it when all the guys were doing 5 part harmonies. Who would believe humming could sound so good. They gave it a very solemn feeling. I love that they don't overproduce their songs. These guys are my favorite a cappella group out there.
They are extremely good at what they do indeed. I loved this arrangement as well. And those tight harmonies will always get me ❤️ They are absolutely on my list of favourites as well
I am glad that Tim started this song and then Chance did his part. The harmonies are great with song. Tim is awesome when he sings bass and he is great storyteller. You need to hear Story Time With Tim.😊❤❤❤❤❤❤ Home Free is my favorite group.
I love this! Hauntingly beautiful and one of my favorites of theirs. Yes, second singer was Chance. Others in back are left to right Adam, Rob and Austin. Love the echoes too. Boys looked ghost like in the windows. Just so beautiful. Good one Thale!😪🤩
Their rendition is so hauntingly beautiful & sad. No beatboxing in this one- just gorgeous singing & harmonies. Although the video has an American slant, the song applies equally to every member of every armed service. Incidentally, Tim, Austin (long curly hair) & friends do fund raising for at-risk veterans.
Sadly I’ve already seen that one. (From before I started making videos) But there are some songs I might make videos for even though I’ve heard them ☺️
To my brothers in arms around the globe.
Your breaks were no where near as often as others, especially those who dive deep into vocal analysis. This was fine. And anyway, we can listen to the original uninterrupted and come back here for your thoughts. I also find Home Free’s cover especially moving. MB.
Cut away as least amount of times during playback of songs as you can then give majority of your analysis at the end- just my opinion however that’s how I prefer a lot of the other reactors way of doing it
That's all well and good, but for me to do my reactions, I'll have to comment when the comment comes to me. Otherwise it'll slip my mind and I won't remember what to say. So I'll have to keep doing it the way I do :) On some songs I stop a lot because there's a lot to mention, and on others there's just a few stops. That's how I like to do it. :)

A masterpiece. They took this arrangement from a Finnish group and improved it.

I hope this won a bunch of awards because they deserve it
They really deserve that yes. ❤️❤️
This is probably my favorite of theirs. Hauntingly beautiful..when Chance sings you did not desert me my Brothers in Arms gets me every time 😢
It was absolutely beautiful ❤️ and it holds so much meaning ☺️

You don't have to excuse yourself for stopping, we get it. This is such an emotional performance, it gets me every time
Thank you. It will absolutely get me as well, I absorb the mood and voices on the first time and then I’ll dive deep into it with multiple listens. ❤️
Tim seems to be singing from a dying soldiers grave. Or maybe his own. So full of emotion and meaning, life philosophy, harmony! Truly epic!!!

Playing with fire is amazing, and I checked that one out just a little while ago. And I’ll add Helplessly Hoping to the list as well. Thank you. ❤️

And “ Listen to the Music “ is really great upbeat song that they also do wonderfully well

Hauntingly beautiful yet sends a powerful message. They remind me of a pipe organ at the climax of the song. Great reaction.

Also no beatboxing. They're all singing.

It really does, listened to it a few more times now and it just gets better ❤️
Good reaction Ma'am! This is true Art!
Thank you so much 😀 I'm very glad you enjoyed.
Your comments were well done. It is indeed an emotional subject, and they were so careful to honor the seriousness of the song.
Thank you. I’m glad you feel I did a good job ❤️
It’s a powerful song, regardless of who’s singing it.
It truly is ❤️
To me it's ok I love seeing how the songs make you feel while watching them

Don’t know how I have missed your Chanel before. Just subscribed and I am ready for all the Home Free you react to.
I'm glad you found me, and welcome to the family. :)
More Home Free is definitely coming. :)

Watch Tim's hand, you will seen what he is fixing to do with his voice. Don't worry about the starts and starts, your doing a great job.
Cool to see that Tim has the same tell as Geoff of Voiceplay. :)
I'm glad, and thank you. Glad you enjoy

It is absolutely beautiful. So great, and every song doesn't need beatboxing. :) I had such a good time reacting to this.

That was Adam Chance.
Ethereal
Chance is the 2nd (and only other) singer on this one. You would probably like "Everybody Walkin' This Land" by Home Free as well.
Added it to my list, will definitely check it out. Thanks for the suggestion
Check out Jamey Johnson “Lead me Home” the live version from the farm aid performance : note : pretty hairy fellow but amazing voice and a great song
I can absolutely check that one out. Thank you for the suggestion ❤️❤️
