A huge missed opportunity in Project X Zone 2, which is boggling since the first game had reps from Shining Force Exa. Funny enough half the original Shining series team have been second party to Nintendo since the N64 era, they are responsible for giving us Golden Sun and Waluigi. Now they just make boring Mario Golf/Tennis sequels.
I gotta agree with you on the lacking the "medieval" feel it once had. I guess that's why FF Tactics was so fun... not only did it have one of my favorite IP's with chocobos, summons and even cloud was there as a secret character... but it still had medieval elements with the villages, the castles, the forests and so on. I guess that's always why I had so much fun with Final Fantasy 11... Medieval again... with Final Fantasy elements and creatures. I gotta play a Disgaea game one of these days.
Yeah, now it's all about quanity over quality(to an extent anyway.) I mean... we still get some good quality stuff... but as you say it does feel somewhat lacking. The most fun I've had in an RPG(besides Kingdom Hearts) recently has been on Star Wars The Old Republic. It's the most STORY DRIVEN MMO I've ever seen! Once you reach max level with one character, there are 7 more stories to do if you so choose!
one of the best overworld themes
Takenouchi is an unheralded genius. He brought so much harmonic flavor to the rpg genre
Takenouchi's sense of musicality is refreshing.
SO heroic! It's...it's perfect!
My first traditional RPG ever! (played Legend of Zelda on NES before I played this, but its more of an action rpg).
so many memories...!!!
Nintendo and Sega should work together and make a shining force x Fire Emblem crossover
🤯

Truly epic!
this would actually be my theme song for riding my bike on the trail
YES HELL YES Sounds like John Williams almost
Nice nice timers twice
Skies of Arcadia anyone?
R.i.P SEGA
@Lianas1980 Well ok fine, my first "traditional" RPG would be Final Fantasy 7 then.. but Shining Force II (besides LoZ) started it all for me!
@Omoraru If you do a symphonic arrangement, please do it in the same tone >
I very much AGREE!! (¦3)
i think this is the symphonic version of the music
it is
sf2 is only better than gba and the first one 10000 stars for the music
What version of the game does this come from? It sounds pretty nice though, I will admit.
