    I find it amazing how despite it being 2009 it was still in 1080p and in a fairly high bitrate. This video amazed me as a child and blew me away now as im nearly 25

    • @ApocDevTeam
      @ApocDevTeam Місяць тому +19

      I could be wrong but I think UA-cam saves the original upload forever, so it's possible they upped the bitrate and/or resolution at a later date. I honestly can't remember if this was given 1080p originally.

    • @pummeluff230

      I also double it. If this is an upscale, it is a very clean one.

      @@ApocDevTeam It's stopmotion, so it will have been filmed as a sequence of stills that were then put together into a video, so you don't need a high-resolution, high-frame-rate video camera. Rather, the resolution comes from a stills camera and the frame rate is governed by the power of the computer that was used for editing. 1080p is only two megapixels, and mid-range DSLRs were already at 15 megapixels by 2009.

    • @ApocDevTeam
      @ApocDevTeam Місяць тому +3

      @@beeble2003 This isn't about that, this is about the resolution and quality that UA-cam uses on their videos after uploading. Back in the early days of UA-cam there was no such thing as 1080p video, even if you uploaded it at 1080p it would get reduced automatically to a lower resolution. UA-cam also used to have a much worse bitrate for all videos. That's why all those old videos are low resolution and low quality. However I remember reading somewhere that UA-cam can retroactively increase the quality, more closely resembling the original upload. Back in the day they couldn't do that since UA-cam was a small site and didn't have the type of resources that they have now.

    I first saw this in late 2009. I was a young kid at the time, so I had an interest in Lego's. My brother found this and it was almost like seeing a God animate. I'm much older than I was then, and I have an interest in music. To this day this magnificent video continues to astonish me and I am truly thankful for it.

      Now nothing feels special anymore because every single niche thing can be oversaturated and can easily be quite draining. Furthermore, things move so quickly it's literally impossible for anyone to keep up with anything because if you follow a meme, you've most likely missed 10 others so I've stopped doing that for years.
      The idea of the Icon is dead.

    The quality of this video from 2009 still holds up today. It looks like it was shot in 2013, but I doubt it would have been as legendary as it is now.

    The single most impressive part about this was rotating a 3D cube, on a 2D plane, while maintaining perfect perspective throughout, WITH LEGO.

    The fact that this was 1080p in 2009 is insane. That technology back then was very rare and quite expensive to produce

      1080p still image cameras weren't so high tech then, and this video is mostly stitched still frames

    Se siente extraño navegar por estos lares de una epoca olvidada pero unica de la plataforma cuando youtube era youtube para los propios usuarios donde cada contenido o video era en su mayoria diferentes y no un conglomerado de publicidad y promoción excesiva de marcas como elites o clases, ni de granjas de contenido como lo es hoy .
