Thank you for keeping the original substrate 🧡 many "influencer gardeners" don't do that and forget how stressful it is for the plant. Maybe reducing the sun exposure will help with it drying? I'm sure the fact you're not using a transparent pot anymore will make a big difference

Remember, you can always underfill your pots. It's not about the size of the container, but the amount of soil.

I mean you have to get new substrate occasionally, as old one can loose nutrients and water drains too quickly
It's not too big it's perfect because this plant will grow taller and there will be more branches
It’s not about that, plants don’t like to have too much root room at a time
Crotons are finicky, unless mine is outside in the summer, constant leaf drop, but it’s still growing 🤷♀️
