    Before you leave a comment saying "You must use 5w40!!" I would like to say that it really doesn't matter that much and anyone who does that from now on will have their comment removed.
    Simply changing your oil with any similar weight of oil is much better than not changing it at all.
    Lastly, I want to thank everyone who leaves helpful and thoughtful comments, I appreciate it

      VW recommends Castrol European oil.

      I know use either use 5-40 or 5-30 I would imagine the 5- 30 is winter oil because it’s thinner.

    Can I change the oil filter without drain the oil? The situation is that I change the oil for my car but I didnt change the oil filter cuz out of the stock but now my car has the fresh oil but the old filter, thank you for your video bro!

      Yeah I think you could. Since its on top of the engine you shouldn't lose much oil when replacing it, but have some rags and more oil so you can top it off after you run the engine to circulate oil to the new (dry) filter. Also at 1:45 I show how to replace the filter. Thanks for watching!

    Did you replace the oil plug seal also? This wasn't mentioned in your video. Thank you

      I didn't replace the crush washer on the drain bolt, but it is a good idea to replace it when you are doing this.

    Where exactly does the O ring sit. Looking at you holding the plastic filter holder I can't see it sitting on the flange about 1 inch below the threads. Look like it is up on the threads somewhere

    • @ClayRepairs
      @ClayRepairs  Рік тому

      Hard to explain. Just sits above the threads

    What is the best foam to use when cleaning your tires ?

    • @ClayRepairs
      @ClayRepairs  2 роки тому +1

      I haven't tested any cleaners, but usually just soap and water clean them well. If you want a tire shine, watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/zDzIf4G8jkc/v-deo.html

      Most parts stores will have one, or just search online for one. Here is a link: www.rmeuropean.com/Products/06L115678Q-MFG211.aspx?gclid=Cj0KCQjwzdOlBhCNARIsAPMwjbxuDdDryIZ2J4UuFOfAp7t0teusr8csPPBV7z5snfLjccKBwErLVLgaAiuXEALw_wcB

    I tried to find out what oil type to use however I can't find it. This is for my neighbor's car. They have 2018 VW Passat 2.0T engine. Some videos show 0w-20, other show 5w-30 as in your case, others suggest 5w-40. Does anyone know what the oil spec is such as vw 508 00 or some other number?

    • @ClayRepairs
      @ClayRepairs  Рік тому +1

      Have you tried looking in the owners manual or even just googling it? After looking online, most people say 0w20, so I'd go with that. Also check the oil fill cap, or a sticker under the hood might tell you.

    • @Charkatak
      @Charkatak Рік тому

      @@ClayRepairs Thanks. I did search online and yes, there was some mention of 0w-20 and also other types. I wanted to pull up a manual however the site asks for VIN. I will talk to my neighbor and find out.

    My 2015 1.8 t Passat requires 5.8 quarts . Important to check this spec before starting

    • @ClayRepairs
      @ClayRepairs  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah but I'd get at least 6-7qts to be safe. Mine took over 6qts.

      @@chuckythedoll4815 It really don't matter that much; at that point its just personal preference. Being an ase certified napa tech doesn't mean you're an expert in my car. Also, the amount i mentioned IS correct for my car. Unless you made a better video, don't diss mine.

      @@ClayRepairs I got a 5qt jug and a 1qt jug you think I should put all of it in?

    • @ClayRepairs
      @ClayRepairs  2 роки тому +1

      @@martianata Start with the 5qts and then check it and/or run it for a minute it to fill up the oil filter (which would be empty if you just changed it) and then you'll probably need to add more. Just be on the safe side and check it often when you're filling it up once you get close to 6qts, you don't want to overfill it.
