I had an '02 745 and a '06 750. Both awesome vehicles that were a pleasure to drive across the U.S.A....pure luxury, great handling, and surprisingly good gas mileage.
I got 07 750li from towyard $1900+DMV registration $1100 it's has 86k mills on it and I'm very happy 😊 one more thing you most be your own mecanik any thing happened just follow the UA-cam channel and get the parts OEM from ebey or Amazon that's it
Considering what this originally costed, yes $3500 is great. But when you can get a low mileage 2000's Honda Accord for that money that will last 10 times as long with minimal care, it's really not that great of a deal.
It's basically dead though. It could cost another 6k just to pass an inspection. Not saying there aren't good ones. Because of the reputation causing it to be undervalued those can be had for as little as 8k and would probably be a better option to for the "drive it into the ground" plan
That BMW was so dope back in the day when it came out in 02'. That body style is still similar to how the newer ones look today . That shit had so much tech and comfort. That shit was like a dream car. It was way ahead of it's time. I sat in one that belonged to my father's rich friend back then when I was 19. That shit was dope 👌🏾.
I agree, Doug tries way too hard. It makes me stay away from his videos. Kinda reminds me of that Vehicle Virgins guy. I do not like Doug Nor Vehicle Virgins. I like this guy though.
Because valve seals leak (requires removing heads to fix), headlight ballast or igniters fail (requires removing bumper to get headlight off), electronic park brake fails (expensive part/though there are repair kits), transmission and or differential failures, electronic gear selector (must know where "secret door" is to release transmission into neutral so it can be towed).... should I go on? lol Though the rims off of it are a great upgrade to the E38 since the ET offset is a perfect fit.
Funny thing is that many older BMW folks hated it, but it set the course of modern car design. The sedan you see in the background of most of the shots in this video of this has an almost identical trunk profile to this BMW. I like Bangle's styling. And it sold well.
Yes BMW and Bangle changed the entire industry. All modern cars follow this design. Even the Interior Infotainment, wheel (idrive) is the most copied concept on every car today Bmw 7 Series used to be the Iphone of Modern Day cars. As in every car maker copied their design, their layout, and capacity. Until the F01 7 series (which i bought) BMW was on top. Since F01 around 2010 onwards BMW lost its way... and they are going the audi route making all their cars look exactly the same. Instead of innovating... just maintaining. Tech Wise BMW= Pinnacle of Automotive Industry. Don't get me wrong there. They Dominate when it comes to tech... But I miss the days when u could tell a 3 series from a 5 series from a 7 series 1 mile away, and from any angle. They were all so unique Long Live Chris Bangle. Wonder where he is now.
emotionscomeandgo Im absolutely with you, nearly everything that came after 2010 was anything but no bmw. Just look at the fwd 2 series.... My last hopes for the brand are the M2 and the toyota/bmw supra/z4
Afaik he's enjoying his life in his mansion in ... Italy(?). I forget. But I know for sure his house is on a hill with a pool on the edge of the hill. The pool wall facing towards the view down the hill is made from glass. Crazy cool design like all his cars. I still think the original Z4 is a masterpiece.
*teaching a noob* "Look at this 7 series BMW, it's hated by everyone, it's a horrible investment" Newbie: "Ohh ok, don't buy it, gotcha" "No I'm gonna buy it"
I'm not much of a car guy, but what's wrong with the way it looks? the angles you showed it in it looks decent, not amazing but I wouldn't mind driving in something that looked like that.
I actually like how this BMW 7 series looks. It would look even better/classier if it were black with a tan and black interior. Most cars look better with a classy black finish. I do agree, however, the technology (bells and whistles) from the inside makes it difficult to enjoy your ride.
I have a '07 730d LCI fully loaded model in limited Carbon Schwarz + Gold braun interior color + 20" Style 149. I bought it from a well known CEO of a local company, it was his 2nd car which he used it for occasional driving on motorways. Car had only 150.000km and it was almost like new. I bought it for 15k eur and I put a polish+ceramic coating on it for protection. Few months later alternator broke down and repair was only 142 eur, which is crazy cheap compared to a price range of this car. I once parked it next to a F01 and G11 and damn, E65 is really a timeless masterpiece LCI or non LCI. It looks way more compact with best length/width proportions, it's much cheaper than new models, easier to repair and yet it still shines on a parking lot.
Family owned a 2002, the first of them. We were blessed to either have missed or the p.o. fixed the valve stem seals. The engine & trans was smooth as silk. It had a small oil leak, and needed some small stuff like a lower control arm and brakes, but otherwise, it held up really well. Real fun to drive with the active roll stabilization. Fast as hell and quiet. The thing is, with this kind of car, is that it was $70k+ new. The price depreciates, not the tech and mechanicals. Don't go into it expecting the reliability of a low-tech economy car. That level of car is packed with major engineering. You must keep a high-rated battery/high quality fluids changed on-time/ONLY factory parts in it. No skipping service intervals, no 87 grade fuel in it, no letting issues build until the whole system breaks. BMW's engines are high-strung. They take more tlc to keep them running right.
whoever owned this car didnt take care of it as a luxury sedan, mine has 100K miles, im the second owner, and bought it from someone who cared about servicing and repairing it on a regular basis. No complain here, E66 is truly an amazing machine.
Its funny cause that system of starting the car was available on BMW vehicles as late as 2013. I should know cause I know someone with a 2013 X5 with that method of starting the car.
Anyone who hates this generation of the 7-Series just doesn't understand how amazing of a vehicle it really was for its day. Sure they have problems when they get older and they may be never ending money pits but the technology inside of this car was LIGHT YEARS ahead of its time. Incredible luxury and engineering for being as old as a 2002 model year.
i have a 2008 535i series car i love it so far no issues with it 90k miles its in great shape everything is working on it just had a new battery put in its a great car.
The technical aspect of the car was brilliant. It's just butt-ugly. I don't especially hate the back of the car, but those headlights, oh those hideous drooping headlights... (Disclaimer: i owned a Bangle (E60) 530d for 5 years and loved it, until the engine ate itself (swirlflaps))
I agree with with a lot of what you say but I’ve never seen timing chain guide failure on these cars, I’ve had 3 of them from 86kmiles to 231k miles on the original engines with no chain or chain guide problems. Though they do burn a lot of oil due to then valve seals. The engine is quite nice, powerful and a lot of torque.
CRAZYNOTME I know my friend has a 2009 750li and the check engine light is on and every time I fix it he brings it back like the next day and it comes back on
Last 04 745LI I had ignition issues ,computer issues . Bought it for a project car for car club became a money pit . I end up selling it for 1800 and it was very clean the BMW dealers didn't want work on them 02-05 745 and BMW side shops had tax 500 just on diagnostic , my major was ignition the key would work and sometimes wouldn't.. Learned my lesson

after it went Down With Titanic it's hard to get it to work right agan! inbred!
I worked at the dealership when the new 2002 745i arrived. They soon started to have problems that the techs couldn't resolve and neither could BMW reps. We replaced about 26 2002 745i's with new cars for customers with problems. They were so problematic that we had some customers that were on their third replacement. The 02's and 03's were the worst for years. Now they're been in the service area so many times that they're pretty well sorted so it's mainly the engine issues now.
Spend an 2 thousand more. You can change the electronic entertainment system and cockpit computer to 2014 version and you can upgrade the headlights with adaptive new generation led lights. It will make your car more new and few tunings will sure make it easier to sell higher price. It is still an V8 and that price is nothing for an such an Bmw engine no matter what problem it has. If you spend a little more that car has no problem that can't be solved permanently. The worst case scenario would be to buy an Bmw approved affordable ECU motor tuning box that can fix any problem related to car's electronics and it will add an minimum 130 hp to your engine. An affordable ecu tuning would not exceed 300$ or 400$
Typical SHEEP BMW FANBOY you are MrBullya.....Drink the Kool Aid....these are the most over rated cars on the planet...The Ultimate Driving Machine....the greatest fraud perpetrated on the car driving public at large...3 Series fuel pumps that self ignite, subframe cracks on M 3's...FORZA ALFA BABY!!!!!
What the fuck is this guy talking about? My dad had the first Generation 7 series and at that time it was the most amazing car ever. I Believe It was even rewarded for being the most technologically Advanced car back then. And the exterior was just as good or better than any other luxury sedan from that time
Some modern German cars are worse than Chinese cars. American and Japanese should really be dominating the market if people knew better and could see past marketing hype. Korean cars are also getting up there.
Most of you commenting missed the whole point of this video. He loves the car but he's simply pointing out it's weak points. Very entertaining! Back in the day this luxury boat had features the 3 and 5 series didn't see for a few years to come. Whether the "enthusiast" like this car or not, this is the direction BMW went in till this very date of 2017. A job well done as far as visionary production...
I did not know it was this many people who knew about doing the maintenance there self and saving tons of money everybody on here gave me alot of understanding about BMW
the front looks like that piece of trash garbage e46 3 series that was sold in compact form like the 318i or 318ti or whatever they were called. I think it was sold only in europe though. The e36 compact was in US but i dont think that garbage e46 form came over. Thats where the styling obviously came from for the front headlights and the rear was inspired by the 6 series. And in a way the sides being big and bulky seem like a 5 series to me lol its a 3/5/6 combo to make up the 7
DjStiv3 Man the back of the 7 series on that model is super nice. I actually like the back of that one, better than the 2006+ models. This model is actually boxier and makes the car look beasty!
yeah me too. im curious if there are custom conversion kits and whatnot for it for the front. I assume you can change and do all that. If i had one i would. It doesnt look very elegant or regal or anything for a 7 series i mean this is meant to be a car for CEO's of companies, the fact that it is hideous in the front is beyond belief.
Easy. If you don't like this vehicle body style then you don't know swag. The body and contour of this vehicle is unique and it's a beast! I've owned 3. Currently, black on black 2007 750Li with rear DVD entertainment and window shades in rear. Monstrous.
It's not that ugly. People also hated the 5 series, and I adore my E60. It's aged so well and looks just as nice as the newer cars on the road, if not better. As far as the iDrive goes, it's not that bad once you learn the menus and figure out where everything is it becomes natural muscle memory getting to what you're looking for.
I to own a bimmer ... its a real head turner on the road but man no body wants to work it .. and he's right ... the plastic under the hood turns to brittle so fast that its ridiculous ... and once this car develops a vaccum leak of any sort from any the plastic parts its all downhill from there
mykah silversmith it was so hated when it came out (from a design point of view)...and yes the mechanical problems don't help. Personally I love the styling, so modern for the time!
Anyone who doesn't think it was the most hated must have been too young when it came out. People HATED it. And I'm someone who liked it! I think it aged well.
It's a timeless masterpiece of design. People are just too dumb and have not enough taste to understand Chris Bangle. Put it next to a 2001 S-Class and you'll see what I mean.
I think you're definitely right about the modernness of the design for the time. I love Bangle's design of the E60, but this generation 7-series and 6-series are truly ugly.
Yes BMW and Bangle changed the entire industry. All modern cars follow this design. Even the Interior Infotainment, wheel (idrive) is the most copied concept on every car today Bmw 7 Series used to be the Iphone of Modern Day cars. inspectorchicken Yeah, the 220.1 is a beautiful MB design led by Bruno Sacco, who is miles more talented than Bangle, and implemented perfectly (car finalized summer 1998)... until the 2003 model year facelift that messed it up (not led by Sacco then).
Being an owner of the facelift version of this car (2006 730d), im upset that you've portrayed it this way. Maybe the diesel or UK versions aren't the same as yours but it's pretty well received here. It's a fantastic ride, pretty quick, fairly economical, the idrive is pretty trash but it's definitely not as hard to use as you say. The CD skipping is more than likely your scratched CD and the tyre warning is because you didn't reset the tyre pressure value... but this is hyper sensitive. I got this as a 21 year old after owning an e46 330d, and i've owned 118d's, 325d (2011) and i have to say this car is a million miles above anything (inc a 2014 jag).
These body style 7 series was not bad looking at all. Thats not the problem with this car. Its the steep depreciation, transmission problems even b4 100k, and overall reliability under the hood, that make the 7 series garbage. Its why they practically give them away if there up in miles.. get a used Lexus!
Think about it as a investment. He is not making money out of the cars because the cars are only content for views to make money. which is on UA-cam ads and UA-cam revenue! Idk think with your head for once 🤷🏽♂️
I bought a 2006 low mileage (74,000 miles) 750Li 2 years ago, amazing car, best long distance driver I've ever had and I'm a big car guy. The idrive is crazy until you learn how to use it, I fix a lot of the simple stuff myself, saving thousands, I added Bluetooth and never use the many CD's changers that were factory installed. I still love driving this car and I get many people asking about it, bottom line, I'm happy with mine, especially since the first 2 guys paid the depreciation!
I think youre being very critical of it. Lets face it, there are NO, reasonably modern, crap BMWs. Not unless youre trying to be fussy and this was pretty much the top of the line in its day. It looks pretty nice to me, its a BMW so of course the engine is great an its loaded with tech.
Can't wait to see what you do with this thing! the 7 series was definitely ahead of it's time. today's BMWs are still influenced by this design direction, and seem stale since Bangle left the company. It's as though they didn't know what to do when he left and just kept making small modifications to his designs.
Also complaining that the technology is weird you bought a car for $3400 and complained about it but why did you even spend your money in the first place I think the 745 I is a cool car because of its technology maybe just get used to a car and read the manual
All that tech is why it sells for less than 5% of new. "Proven technology" = durable. As they say, "the cutting edge...is the bleeding edge!" (Bleeding money, in this case.)
Americans love to bitch about maintenance. The car was $70k and you get it for $4k be prepared to put some money into it. Common sense. These cars are great when everything is working.
_"These cars are great _*_when everything is working._* " Good point, with the added emphasis. Pilots have a saying: "if it's not installed, it weighs nothing, costs nothing to maintain, and can never break in filght." Meaning, unnecessary technology on a vehicle is a BAD thing. If you add technology, first make certain it is necessary to meet the mission profile. ...and I-Drive ain't necessary to meet the mission profile!
I drove a 2004 745i and I loved everything about it. iDrive did (and still does) suck but once you learn it and it becomes part of your every day routine it’s pretty handy.
Best looking BMW according to me. Love it. This and the E46 are such good looking cars. The E38 is cool, but I think its just overhyped after the transporter and James Bond movie. It's always easy to love a simple design like the E38. But the E65/66 has that special element to it which stands out. It still looks amazing and still newish in todays world. Maybe 'hated' by some, but if loved by others. This is where BMW took a major step and Evolved. By far the biggest step in evolution of BMW was from E38 to E65/E66. Talking about the new BMWs, we all know about the front Grill which is also. Love hate relationship, but the back of the car is by far the worst part of it I believe. Wtf is that shit, it looks like any other accord or something, and the side profile can be mistaken for a 5 series. Gone are the days when all 3,5 and 7 were easily distinguishable. (Better than distinguishing the new Mercs anyway).
I have a 2015 750LI Msport that I purchased new and still own. It’s been great. I’ve kept up with all the service intervals, etc. It really shines on long road trips at Hwy speed. 100 mph feels like 50. You really have to utilize cruise settings unless you want speeding tickets.
I remember speaking to an early adopter of that 7-series who had also been a life-long BMW customer. He told me how he and his wife were one evening locked inside by the car's dodgy electronics (the car was practically new at this point) with no cell phone on them to call for help. They had the key but the doors simply wouldn't open, no matter what they tried. They spent quite some time in the car until someone noticed them and called help. And that was just one of the many problems he had had with this one. At the end of his story he added that now he was driving an S-class - something which he had never thought possible, since he had been such a loyal BMW-fan.
Guys, can't you see he's a hater. I stopped the video when he started talking about radiator and showed the photo of a broken e60... you pay for comfort, alright.. Whenever I am in this car I dont want to leave. Every part dies some time, you will have to change. If you want to avoid spending money for repair just buy audi 100 and off you go.
I had this exact same car and color for 3 years now, exceptional vehicle, great quality and comfort and never had major mechanical problems. Three days ago it was stolen from me and it's a heartbreaking feeling...
I had an '02 745 and a '06 750. Both awesome vehicles that were a pleasure to drive across the U.S.A....pure luxury, great handling, and surprisingly good gas mileage.
Driving 06 750LI rn, it’s like driving a nice new 2017, bmw always ahead in technology and luxury features
I'm think about getting a 04 are thy good?? And it has 150k miles for 3k what yall think
For $3,500 is a great car. Just drive it until it's dead, it's totally worth it!
100 percent
I got 07 750li from towyard $1900+DMV registration $1100 it's has 86k mills on it and I'm very happy 😊 one more thing you most be your own mecanik any thing happened just follow the UA-cam channel and get the parts OEM from ebey or Amazon that's it

I personally really like the styling of the back, might just be me.
Cole Webb-Rivera I agree it looks like the 6 series of the time from the back
The rear looks like a obese asian guy.
Looks dope would love one if they didnt break
Cole Webb-Rivera the facelift version looked so much better
I like the facelift better
Doug the type of guy to.......wait.....this aint Doug.
I came to this video from dougs videos lol
Exactly! This is Doug’s cover!
He's much funnier and much more authentic than Doug though.
Come on! This guy is authentic while Doug is desperately trying to be a comedian (nothing against Doug).
I agree, Doug tries way too hard. It makes me stay away from his videos. Kinda reminds me of that Vehicle Virgins guy. I do not like Doug Nor Vehicle Virgins. I like this guy though.
I dont know why people hate this car so much. I like it.
47Gigs they are very unreliable

It looks great and is very luxurious but the up keep was terrible. Very expensive
I love the badass look of this car, also the M6 from the same year. it was awesome
Because there P.O.S.

Wow that's crazy I thought the back was the best part of the car, plus I owned this car and it never gave me any major problems
You still got it?
I like this car because it's back!
The back is actually my favorite part of the car lmao
I heart my 7
richard vega agreed
Serious? I like the back more than the front :\\
Kristoph109 same
Kristoph109 I think the back is timeless. I hate the front as much as the e63's.
Kristoph109 Exactly
Kristoph109 you must really hate the front then
me too
The pina colada "Heavy BMW Remix" is top notch.
Funny cause the back is what I like 🤔
same
I think the 7 series is beautiful...
jaymeez the new one looks nice, but this one doesn't
Especially the third, fifth and sixth generation.
E32 & E38 definately. E65 is hideous compared to the others.
DPortZeGerman I bet mine looks better than any car you drive!
+Ace A
Is it? '91 M5 E34

Long Live Chris Bangle. Wonder where he is now.
BMW lost there way after 2001 or maybe even 1993. All plastic highly depreciating and deteriorating appliances.
emotionscomeandgo Im absolutely with you, nearly everything that came after 2010 was anything but no bmw.
Just look at the fwd 2 series....
My last hopes for the brand are the M2 and the toyota/bmw supra/z4
emotionscomeandgo agree with you 100%
Im driving my seventh bmw right now, and my favorite ones are not the new ones mate
emotionscomeandgo the car had a bunch of great ideas... but they where poorly implemented

akiraokami He's just trying to make a controversial video. Most people I know love the way this car looks. Especially in all black
That makes sense
Because it looks like a damn hammer head shark..
You'll change your mind about the back of the car if u search up the 2008 version
He wants attention for views

I am fine with the Bangle Butt.
Tavarish sup Tavarish!

When i was younger and this came out i thought ut looked pretty good. I still think it does lol
I'll sell you ours for a few grand
Wow, you had to put the KEY in and press START? Wow that's DIFFICULT! Better bring out the manual!
Its funny cause that system of starting the car was available on BMW vehicles as late as 2013. I should know cause I know someone with a 2013 X5 with that method of starting the car.
I personally think that putting the key in and twisting is harder can give you carpal tunnel 😬
Well back in 2002 the boomers weren’t used to that 😂 I think it’s a nice ass car on the inside... the outside is an eye sore
I've always hated the Bangle 7-Series but started to love them because of GTA IV's Ubermacht Oracle
ggj1987 The Ubermacht Oracle and the facelift E65 looks better than the pre-facelift E65.
Thorbjørn Madsen The Oracle is basically a facelifted E65 with a pre-facelift rear
ggj1987 That's why the GTA IV and V's Oracle and facelifted E65 looks better than pre-facelift
ggj1987 word same here
Samsung Galaxy S7 I simply call them "BMW 7-Series", but in GTA i call them "Übermacht Oracle"
Anyone who hates this generation of the 7-Series just doesn't understand how amazing of a vehicle it really was for its day. Yes... Having optical cables for main communication and still about 90 kg of cabling. Awsome.
i have a 2008 535i series car i love it so far no issues with it 90k miles its in great shape everything is working on it just had a new battery put in its a great car.
I bought a used one with 300+kmiles and obviously the problems were removed by then :) I only need to fix soft close on my door...
It’s a reliable car I know someone who has one he’s had it for 9 years and still running
I had that car, loved driving it, but it was a POS.. Everytime I heard that bell I would break into a scare because it meant money.. Lol
CRAZYNOTME lol-I think the same with my new BMW. Gas light comes on, chimes ding I get scared 😳
Lmao it was same for my Land Rover ahaha
loooool
Welcome to BMW ownership.
CRAZYNOTME I know my friend has a 2009 750li and the check engine light is on and every time I fix it he brings it back like the next day and it comes back on
I saw the thumbnail and literally yelled "HOOVIE NO"
Styling is whatever but these 7 series are VICIOUSLY unreliable and parts costs are massive.
They are giving them away on autorader for 3500-3900 all day, yes they are more maintenance then even mercedes.
Learned my lesson
after it went Down With Titanic it's hard to get it to work right agan! inbred!
745 BMW is a beautiful lookin car what the f**k is you talking about?
Tone Campbell its like jazz music , you have to have a good taste in music to hear the beauty of jazz .
This guy is who hates this car really
king 1
The most unreliable car ever made
king 1 right?! I agree. This dude is lost his mind
I can't even take his annoying voice!
That steering wheel is vile
m1330T9500 the wheel is the one part of it I like
Spend an 2 thousand more.
An affordable ecu tuning would not exceed 300$ or 400$
People hate it because it cannot match its previous model the 740 made from 1995-2001
I'm partial to the e39 5 series but an e38 is beautiful as well.
No we hate it cause it’s a piece of junk more so than anything else... when it works right we love it
Texarmageddon 🤣
The wizard told you huh!! Best part of the video by far....."I think kiddie time is over...I can handle it!" Fucking classic! I loved it!
That part of the video is gone :(
No it’s not
@@jakesonewheeladventures.3976 Yes, It's.
I don't see anything unattractive with the back...
MrBullya the 745 has that weird bar between the taillights which I don’t like, other than that they are perfect
True... I hate the front end more than the back..
In fact the back is the better part of it
That's why fat girls get laid too....some guys are CHUBBY CHASERS !!! MIC DROP....FORZA ALFA BABY
It’s a beautiful car dude....you speak like bmw’s competitor paid you or something....
Yep. What a tool
No, the E38 was beautiful this thing is just a mess.
Yes
Tejas Kumar he is saying the truth, the car is trash
The cars interior is nice but the outside is ugly as fuck
What the fuck is this guy talking about? My dad had the first Generation 7 series and at that time it was the most amazing car ever. I Believe It was even rewarded for being the most technologically Advanced car back then. And the exterior was just as good or better than any other luxury sedan from that time
It is worth less than a Camry the same age for a reason, even though it started out costing 3 times as much or more.
I love this guy. He deserves a award for his personality and channel.
It was always one of my favorite BMW'S. 🤷♂️
People love fancy trash😂😂😂😂🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Its much faster than E38. That it only thing that is better with E65...
That car looks brand new to me
I am a bmw fan and I love it!!!!
My uncle has one of this,e66 750Li
imko oozzz my cousin's got a 2003 750, a real beauty. And also my aunt's neighbor's daughter's boyfriend has one.
below absolute zero the fuck
imko oozzz same
imko oozzz I have an 04 745i, hoovie is in for one fuck of a ride with this
I have 745i, and I love it, don't know who these experts are to say my taste is bad, I mean everyone have their own taste.
What is so horrible about the car? Would you rather walk instead? Don't get why people complain so much about a car
Specially for that lo price. I paid 9.300€ for 2007 last year. And it was a good price.
Straight pipe and resonator delete!!!!!??!???!!!!!!!
Hmmmmmmmmm
Hoovies Garage pleaseeeeeeeeeeee
😓😓😓😓😓😓
Aleixei Demirov whats a resonator?
Robert Ri that’s something that is located beneath the engine, its reduce the exhaust noise
This bmw actually has one of my favorite rear ends bmw has ever designed
Back is beautiful. God the front pisses me off those lights are so fucked. Rear reminds me of the 6 series coupe, but it looks great
DjStiv3 same I was saying. The back looks dope to me
the front looks like that piece of trash garbage e46 3 series that was sold in compact form like the 318i or 318ti or whatever they were called. I think it was sold only in europe though. The e36 compact was in US but i dont think that garbage e46 form came over. Thats where the styling obviously came from for the front headlights and the rear was inspired by the 6 series. And in a way the sides being big and bulky seem like a 5 series to me lol its a 3/5/6 combo to make up the 7
The 2005 facelift did wonders though. Brought it right back in line.
Did it come with blinker fluid?
It does and it also comes with BOTH left and right handed screw drivers for basic repairs.
$5k option lol ;)
Why would a beemer driver need any?
LordZeus I didn’t even know about blinker fluid but my mechanic added some for $200. I’m so relieved
BMW 7 Series are the only models that also came with piston return springs 😭.
Easy. If you don't like this vehicle body style then you don't know swag. The body and contour of this vehicle is unique and it's a beast! I've owned 3. Currently, black on black 2007 750Li with rear DVD entertainment and window shades in rear. Monstrous.
Am I the only one that kinda likes the way it looks?
Tim Vernak the front is ok , headlights had a bit of potential though.
The back look’s nice for me
Michał Kwiecień me too? Everyone's hated it but I think it looks super nice
Justin Ault it just looks wrong tbh
Yeah, totally. I love it. I especially love the E63 rear end which is similar :)
Michał Kwiecień looks like a normal car’s back, I wouldn’t be able To tell iTs a bmw.
Its that stupid light bar that runs horizontal in between the 2 taillights.
Seriously, if this Is his biggest problem in life he is doing fine. It's a gorgeous car.
Yeah who knows what he's smoking! This video is is useless!
Hoodie seamed baked af during the carphone call
Please tell me that phone conversation was planned ahead of time. It was the CRINGIEST thing I have ever experienced.
I have one and I love it. I have had different 330i's for the past 12 years. This one drives like i am on pillows. And the back end is beautiful.
Could we still act like we'd still take this over a 2017 Kia optima...its hella old but better
Craig Chance no way!!! in terms of reliability the Kia is much better! Kia has come a looooong way!!
bruh
I'd take the kia with a turbo over this
I'd take a Stinger GT every day of the week.
With all the problems i know a bme has ill take the kia
This car is amazing technologically and was way ahead of its time
It's not that ugly. People also hated the 5 series, and I adore my E60. It's aged so well and looks just as nice as the newer cars on the road, if not better. As far as the iDrive goes, it's not that bad once you learn the menus and figure out where everything is it becomes natural muscle memory getting to what you're looking for.
Nah they're a bucket of crap
Wait this is not Doug.
He's like Doug's younger brother.
I did a ten hour trip in a 740 of the same year. It was a smooth ride and it had a 100,000 km on it.
the car is beautiful. front back all around, the car looks tough in white or black.
That BMW 7 series is nice as hell. you got to be crazy if you think it's terrible.
Men the back is beautiful!
same here I think the back is fine and looking good except the front. just looks so stupid with those lights shaped like a distorted banana
RAID_01 Coc I completely agree!!
I to own a bimmer ... its a real head turner on the road but man no body wants to work it .. and he's right ... the plastic under the hood turns to brittle so fast that its ridiculous ... and once this car develops a vaccum leak of any sort from any the plastic parts its all downhill from there
Yeah, pretty sure that's definitely not the most hated BMW. Whatever it takes to reach that clickbait though.
yes it is the most hated a million problems
I wouldn't say clickbait because it's a least in the top 5 worst BMW's it's price says it all
but it is...
mykah silversmith it was so hated when it came out (from a design point of view)...and yes the mechanical problems don't help.
Comparing this to a W220 is truly a slap in the face to the S class.
Bullshit.
I own a W220, and it is crispier (i.e, more crisp) than the bimmer.
I think you're definitely right about the modernness of the design for the time. I love Bangle's design of the E60, but this generation 7-series and 6-series are truly ugly.
Yes BMW and Bangle changed the entire industry. All modern cars follow this design. Even the Interior Infotainment, wheel (idrive) is the most copied concept on every car today
Bmw 7 Series used to be the Iphone of Modern Day cars.
They were all so unique
Long Live Chris Bangle. Wonder where he is now.
inspectorchicken Yeah, the 220.1 is a beautiful MB design led by Bruno Sacco, who is miles more talented than Bangle, and implemented perfectly (car finalized summer 1998)... until the 2003 model year facelift that messed it up (not led by Sacco then).
I use to own a 7 series years ago, it was a 98 model. Love it, best car in terms of driving/ride quality I’ve ever had
Valve covers leak oil and computer issues, 3 window assembly’s went bad and plenty more
Being an owner of the facelift version of this car (2006 730d), im upset that you've portrayed it this way.
This car is worth less than a Camry 4 Cyl that was bought at the same time, hah.
they are completely different machines yo anyone with a d series over here is like a god
These body style 7 series was not bad looking at all. Thats not the problem with this car. Its the steep depreciation, transmission problems even b4 100k, and overall reliability under the hood, that make the 7 series garbage. Its why they practically give them away if there up in miles.. get a used Lexus!
how are you not homeless? You buy a car for X then pay (on average) 2X to make it run, then sell it for 1/2X.
Think about it as a investment. He is not making money out of the cars because the cars are only content for views to make money. which is on UA-cam ads and UA-cam revenue! Idk think with your head for once 🤷🏽♂️
Daddy's money
That was one of my fav BMWs🤷🏽♂️...
I'm not a BMW fan anyway but I don't think the design is as bad as you are making out.Its actually not that hideous.
Your Oversteer column is just as good as your videos!
I cant believe I’ve watched every Hoovie upload the day it came out since this episode
@9:00 you can keep driving it until it sounds like Philip Glass.
I always thought it had more of a Great White Shark Body!
Paul G Agreed!
Ahead of its time? The Lexus LS was better then this thing lmfaoooo
Toyota4Life the LS was always ahead of its time, they look timeless and they have a ton of tech and that v8 is smooth as hell man
Design wise, the Lexus LS has always been boring, and definitely never set any trends. Its a great car, but not a stylish one.
Lexus = Pinnacle
Give a like so Hoov Ventura doesn't go bankrupt
daddy won't let that happen
Who is this daddy you talk of?
This is what happens when the masses have 0 taste. One of the best designs BMW ever made, minus the steering wheel.
German Custom Cars i totally agree
_"These cars are great _*_when everything is working._* "
Good point, with the added emphasis. Pilots have a saying: "if it's not installed, it weighs nothing, costs nothing to maintain, and can never break in filght." Meaning, unnecessary technology on a vehicle is a BAD thing. If you add technology, first make certain it is necessary to meet the mission profile.
...and I-Drive ain't necessary to meet the mission profile!
bcubed72 agreed, thats the case with anything though. For every not fully functioning 745 im sure some one has a very reliable one
Traditionalists couldn't stand this car but it was awesome, design wise
I drove a 2004 745i and I loved everything about it. iDrive did (and still does) suck but once you learn it and it becomes part of your every day routine it’s pretty handy.
This car was very advanced for its time.
I think the whole chassis is great, very handsome styling
And it still looks god dam good, damnnn
LS SWAP
I had this exact same car and color for 3 years now, exceptional vehicle, great quality and comfort and never had major mechanical problems. Three days ago it was stolen from me and it's a heartbreaking feeling...
i love this car my favorite 7!
So +1! ❤️
Yea my dad also had one
Im with you there Kmonala! I love the 7 series. This guy must work for Mercedes and tryimg to come off as an ordinary Joe. Hahahahaha!
you have there a point, mr.bo-bo
