Thank you Chef AJ for having Dr.Scott Harrington on, he is the best. He gives you very good information and in an easy way to understand it. I also like that he validates what you’ve been saying all these years about food addiction. I know it’s true because I have it. As you know when people look at me they don’t think that. Using what you have taught me I at least know how to keep it at bay,. The wolf is always at the door… be vigilant. Thank you again Chef AJ.💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻❤
Veganism can only perpetuate food addiction because most addictive substances come from plants: • Caffeine • Nicotine • Alcohol • Opium • Cocaine • *_SUGAR_* All of those substances are from plants. All of those substances are chemically addictive. And veganism is all about eating plants. It's a chemical impossibility for veganism to eliminate food addiction because plants are full of addictive chenicals - sugar (carbs) in particular. The best veganism can do is keep you hooked on carbs for the rest of your life. And, just like any other chemical addiction, if you try getting of carbs, you get hit by withdrawal symptoms - headache, low energy, mood swings, intense cravings, etc. I finally got over my sugar addiction by going carnivore. The first few weeks were miserable and even included hallucinations of a bowl of berries. But after about five weeks, I suddenly realized that I hadn't had a food craving in several days. I've been food addiction free ever since. No more binge sessions. No more obsession about food. No more constant itch to get a snack. I'll never go back.
Food addiction is real! I struggle… just when I think I’ve got it something will come up. I’ve lost 70lbs WFPB SOFAS free and every day I choose my health. I will over eat on tortillas or even potatoes. Not kidding
Thank you for this excellent video.. this has been on my mind…I used to eat 2/3 cup of low fat dairy ice cream daily, 1 serving according to the package. I was a food weigher back then. When I gave up dairy and became WFPB, I started eating homemade nice cream. I eat an 8 oz serving of it most days. It’s about 225 calories ( I used an app to calculate the recipe). If I don’t have it, I really miss it and I eat it even if I am full from dinner. It consists of bananas, sugar/salt free peanut butter powder, cacao powder, vanilla extract and unsweetened almond milk. It’s low in calories and nutritious and gives me a lot of pleasure . However, it is a habit/addiction which is not healthy even though it is a healthy dessert. I don’t want to stop eating it. I’m a healthy weight but like Dr Harrington said, over time, it’s still extra calories and could cause problems. Chef AJ, or Dr Harrington, what would you suggest?
Lots of times when you hear a certain song, you can remember a specific time and place when and where you listened to that song. You can even remember what you were smelling when you heard the song, sometimes. Nerves that fire together wire together
I eat very well, no addictions to processed foods. My issue is, I do great all day, VEGAN and SOS no problem but I’m hungry at night. I’ll eat a bowl off rice or fruit late which keeps me from losing weight the 20 lbs I want to lose. How do I stop night bingeing?
