    I’m glad to see that Cadillac is still interested in making sedans.

    I recently traded in my 2021 CT5 350T for a 2023 CT5 550T. The difference is astronomical. As much as I love the CT5, the 4 cylinder is extremely under powered for such a heavy vehicle especially with all wheel drive. The TwinTurbo V6 runs so much more smooth. I’m extremely happy with the CT5. Personally, I think it’s a sharper looking vehicle than its competitors. even the difference between the 550T and V Series is not much. Of course the V has the magnetic ride control and V mode. It’s the same engine and transmission as the 550T. The majority of CT5’s are the 4 cylinder. The V series has about 30 more horsepower than the 550T. Regardless, they both ride the same. The premium luxury model in my opinion rides a lot smoother for a daily driver. I think you did a great job in the video, it’s unfortunate you weren’t able to really open the throttle up due to the break in period. It sounds fantastic when you lay into it!

      Great information. I'm in the market for a new car. I had a CTS now looking at the 2023 CT5 and CT5-V. Going to test drive the CT5 tomorrow I don't think they have a CT5-V in the lot. But I think I'm leaning towards the CT5-V.

      I’ve been researching three cars Charger RT, CT6 2016-2019, CT5 3.0 v6 AWD. Not the CT5 V. You’re knowledgeable about the CT5 and i need some help. Is the CT5 too small of a daily driver? Would you pick luxury or speed? And what your mpg and how often you have to fill up? Thank I’m advance

      I'm just in the process of buying a CT5 for my wife to use as a daily driver the 2.0L is just ok IMO but the 3.0L V6 is night and day difference in power and especially smoothness. Do you notice a big difference in MPG with the 3.0L?? My only beef with the CT5 is that you can't get the V6 in the sport trim without moving up to the CT5-V which is a significant price jump.

    • @Letrictox13
      @Letrictox13 2 місяці тому

      @@spinedoc893 yes. I average about 22 miles a gallon between city and highway. granted i have a heavy foot. And you have to put 93 octane in the TTV6. sometimes I regret not getting the remodel. It does have a little bit sharper body lines but for what I need the car for I think this does just fine!

    • @Letrictox13
      @Letrictox13 2 місяці тому +1

      @@WilliamDailyReacts I don’t think it’s too small for a daily driver. Although sometimes it’s impractical if you’re trying to move around a lot of stuff. I think it’s a great daily driver. I do wish I would’ve got the remodel. It’s a little bit sharper looking and it’s a little bit more power even though it’s the same motor and transmission the 550T is slightly detuned. Although I did get it loaded. I had the car bill from the dealer and took nine months to get it.

    GM needs to put this engine in more of their vehicles. It's a shame the CT5 is the only vehicle that has this engine.

    • @TheCm900
      @TheCm900 Рік тому

      They’re trying to keep it exclusive
      Won’t be as luxurious if it’s being passed around to everyone else.

    Thank you for doing this GM review Ben. I see you warmed up despite the cold weather. You are right about Audis and BMW's and Mercedes Benz being more common. I admit I at first did not like how it sounded, but it is a sad truth. There are only two Cadillac sedans in the United States. There are three in China as they sell the CT6 there. A new CT6 is coming out in China. Cadillac does sell a lot of crossovers and suv's today. Cadillac is indeed working to get back on the right track. It will take time. Also they electrification is changing things as well.

    Had a 2023 350t today as a rental. Just brought it back and boy I want that car. I’ve driven many cars, all the Europeans, the muscle cars and in between. This was my first time driving a Cadillac and man was I more than surprised overall then absolutely shocked when I saw this vehicle starts at 40k. It had all the bells and whistles just like all the other premium cars. The ride was really nice. Put 1k on the odo so I would say it was thoroughly tested. Mpg was great, enough pick up when needed and a really smooth ride… the 550t might be my next car

    Like the exterior styling. But considering this is the flagship sedan (given the CT-6 is out), the interior definitely seems premium rather than luxury. This is more along what you see in base Audi's, and maybe even top trim Mazda. Some Acura and Volvo seem tied or above this, and if you look at Mercedes E and C class and up, some of the Lexus sedan interiors, and Genisis: it becomes apparent the Escalade has stolen all of the luxury attention. At least the chassis is decent.
    And I'm sure it's comfortable, but looks and escess are what's going to separate luxury and premium

    I surprisingly like this car. Would it make sense to step up to the V model over this version? Not sure if the suspension benefits are worth it?

    • @jmay5583
      @jmay5583 Рік тому

      The V model will hold its value alot better.
      You will also have the V mode (customizable exhaust noise, brake and steering feel etc). As well as the suspension you mentioned.
      If getting a RWD you will have magnetic ride control and an electronic slip diff. In an AWD you lose the magnetic ride but still have the electronic slip diff.
      If you prefer the black accented exterior, and the interior/exterior color choices on the V more. It's deffinetly worth it.
      The V also has 25 more horsepower.

      @mybro727 Рік тому

      @@jmay5583 The CT5 does not lose magnetic ride control when you opt for AWD, you can have both. Only the CT4 loses magnetic ride control when you opt for AWD.

    you would think by now they would have been able to increase the mpg to at lease 35mph on the highway. Kind of disappointing for an American car company thats been around for 100 years. They should be a leader in that field.

    • @ra-di2wu

      It's tuned differently. It has 360 HP and 405 lb ft in the V, and 335 and 400 here. It's detuned and less aggressive. Likewise the same transmission, but tuned to be softer shifting and less optimal shift points from a performance perspective.
