My wife is a Trini so I’ve been through Piarco airport more times than I can count. I hope you get a chance to visit Trinidad properly one day Noel. It’s a beautiful country with amazing people. Come down for Carnival!

So Belém is the capital of the state of Pará, and Belém is the Portuguese name for Bethlehem! Initially the city was called Nossa Senhora de Belém do Grão-Pará or Our Lady of Bethlehem of Great Pará and the reason it was called that and just shortened to Belém because it was on Christmas Day that captain Francisco Caldeira Castelo Branco, who founded the city, left from São Luís in what's now the state of Maranhão in 1615 to conquer the lands of Pará and thus founded Belém in 1616. The reason Port of Spain on Trinidad is called such is because quite simply, when the Spanish got there, they named the settlement Puerto España. Christopher Columbus named the island Trinidad (though Arawaks called it Cairi) as part of fulfilling a vow he made before setting out on his third exploration voyage. Caribbean Airlines is state-owned with the Trinidad & Tobago government owning a majority of it, with the Jamaican government also owning a percentage. It is the flag carrier of Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, and Guyana! It has a hummingbird as their mascot as Trinidad is known as the Land of the Hummingbird!
Behind you at 11:57 is the coat of arms of Trinidad & Tobago! The palm tree crest at the top of the coat of arms was taken from Tobago's coat of arms before it was joined in political union with Trinidad. The gold ships on the shield represent the three ships Christopher Columbus used on his voyage. The two birds on the shield are hummingbirds, but the two big birds supporting the shield are a scarlet ibis on the left, and the cocorico (also known as the Rufous-vented chachalac) on the right. These are the country's two national birds. Below the Scarlet Ibis are three hills, representing the Trinity Hills in southern Trinidad. The island below the cocorico represents Tobago. The scarlet ibis and the cocorico are birds also found in mainland South America. As Trinidad was once part of the South American mainland, many South American creatures call the island home. On their flag, red, white, and black symbolize fire, earth, and water. Red for fire for the island's warm sunshine and the courage of its people. Black for earth for the dedication of the people joined together by one strong bond, the color of strength, of unity of purpose, and of the wealth of the land. And white for water for the purity of aspirations and the equality of all. Like Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago also has a lot of Africans and Indians, with Indian laborers arriving after African abolition.
So I'm definitely not the only Trini who follows you! I saw your previous post about heading down to Suriname and I was thinking "he has finally crossed the Atlantic - when is he going to come to Brian Lara country?" Its a shame you didn’t take the daily Miami flight with Caribbean Airlines you would have gotten some of the best treatment and the connection in Trinidad would have been easier.
I thought the same myself, why didn't he take the 484 to MIA which leaves closer to 9am, giving him more time in transit. But I suspect he wanted to stay with American as he could easily transit through to his final destination which is IAH. Glad he made it to 🇹🇹 😊

Same to you!
ohhh you have got to make a good, proper long stay in Trinidad and Tobago. Its sooo much to see on these two lil islands. Come back soon man. Even Guyana, you need to go for a long stay ( tons of small flights on Beechcrafts to inland, those are awesome lil planes)
Fun fact: Caribbean Airlines was formerly BWIA and Air Jamaica.
Noel, take your shirt off, get a tan, have a drink by the pool…relax!
Enjoy as always!
Quite the epic journey. Hope you and your family are well!
Wow! you featured Trinidad and my national airline too! Lovely!
Beautiful scenery. The stations along the way look so attractive and well maintained. Too bad about the ice cream but at least you were up at cruising altitude for the journey.
What an crazy adventure Noel 😮❤
What a lovely lounge dragon. So nice.
You having to deal with that Quad S security rating was interesting to watch. I don't think I've seen any other aviation UA-camr videos.
I would have been shattered after such a trip, kudus to You Noel. 🙂
Hahaha… the imagery of the coffee missing the cup was just a beautiful metaphor - I had such a good laugh. Noel, you are such a legend.
My cousins used to live in Trinidad for a few years. Looks like a beautiful place!
Welcome to the hotel, Surinam. You can fly in anytime you like, but you can never leave! 🎶🎵
Noel needs to fly Austrian airlines. Hopefully that’s a goal for 2024.
Hot cloth - Noel, wipe face first then hands - spreading germs from hands on to face! ❤
@countryside4386 ....... how do you expect someone to open the towel and put it on their face without using hands ? Perhaps feet ? 😂😂😂😂
You could have gone on foot to the us with bald, via Darien gap!😂
Glad you came to 🇹🇹 Trinidad big fan here
Its a shame you didn’t take the daily Miami flight with Caribbean Airlines you would have gotten some of the best treatment and the connection in Trinidad would have been easier.
I thought the same myself, why didn't he take the 484 to MIA which leaves closer to 9am, giving him more time in transit. But I suspect he wanted to stay with American as he could easily transit through to his final destination which is IAH. Glad he made it to 🇹🇹 😊
Maybe he couldn't get a seat on that flight.
Caribbean flights to Miami are 3x more expensive than American…. There’s a reason trinis hate to fly Caribbean to the us instead of JetBlue United and American
He’s not the smartest guy in the world. I’m sure he didn’t even know that flight existed
@@SittingWithDogs He's smarter, richer and more polite than you, I'm sure.
In my 59 years, I had never heard the expression "gone for a burton" before. I had to Google it.
The same thing happened to me when I went to Suriname this March, but I had to use the Amsterdam flight to get out of there! At least I got a little KLM house for my trouble
Great video Noel 😊
Glad you enjoyed it
