  • This video is about how to go about addressing an engine Dexcool coolant leak due to a failed plastic water outlet housing. This video is applicable to GM vehicles using their Ecotec 1.4L turbocharged engine, such as the Chevrolet Cruze, Chevrolet Sonic, Chevrolet Trax, and the Buick Encore. The 1.4L engine's water outlet housing is prone to failure after sufficient mileage and age have accumulated due to the plastic construction. This is a high failure rate part. The specific vehicle illustrated in this video is a 2015 Chevy Sonic LT sedan, but the water outlet replacement procedure is the same (except for some minor coolant hose and electrical mounting differences) across all the vehicles with the GM Ecotec 1.4L turbocharged engine option.
