    This is the best video by far. Same motor as mine except mine is 20 hp. Thank you

    Always replace fuel lines with clear lines, you can see fuel flow, make sure entire system is air-tight, fuel fittings cause more carb problems than you could imagine, totally leak free...

    I use a sonic cleaner on my carbs and then blow it out with compressed air. It works great

    According to this parts diagram there is no green gasket and the diaphragm is right up against the metal cover.

      Thanks for the nice words. I did not check my vacuum lines, but after throughly cleaning the carb, it seemed to running good. I will have to look at the vacuum lines in the future though.

    Yeah dude you put your fuel pump back together wrong at the start 4 minutes you can see it goes rubber and then green but then you put it green and then the rubber?at the 9ish minute can that mess it up ?

    When rebuilding these carbs you have to replace the seat and retaining clip for the bb.

    • @charmaineabela9315
      @charmaineabela9315 Місяць тому

      What seat and clip for the bb? There is a washer/gasket/ and spring and that is it.

    Thanks very much for this video. I have that exact same carb and just recently rebuilt mine as well ( cleaned and replaced all gaskets ). My problem is that mine did not have that little BB underneath the primer button. It had the tiny spring underneath the brass cap but no BB! The thing is I have searched high and low for a kit for this and have bought two so far and neither one came with that BB. Does anybody know where I can get one or what size it is? I have plenty of different size shotgun shells laying around and was hoping maybe I could use one of those BB's?? Can anyone help me with this? Thanks very much in advance.

    I have the same motor but with electric start. I can start the engine. But the engine bogs out and stalls after I press the accelerator. Any tips , ideas what the issue might be ?

    • @BrokenRRT
      @BrokenRRT 5 місяців тому +1

      Replace the the fuel line from tank to motor. There’s a liner inside that hose that breaks down and collapses. Common outboard issue for your description.

    Followed your video and thank you. I just did a rebuild on mine and now it leans out and dies. Squeeze the bulb and it'll run, lean then die. Keep squeezing and it keeps running. Any idea? (note - I have a 20hp and upgraded to the WMC53A carb to make it a 25. This is the carb I rebuilt. With the original setup, it ran fine before switching them out). Appreciate any advice you can offer.

    • @eduffy4937
      @eduffy4937 Рік тому

      You have a faulty primer bulb. Replace it. Spend money on a good one. Not from Amazon. I've had more ppl bring me so many bulb issues thought to be motor issues in the last 2 years. Like 5dozen or more.

    • @jriley3019
      @jriley3019 Рік тому

      @@eduffy4937 Thanks, but why would it run fine with the original carb and then act funky with a larger carb installed? Found the issue: Had the gasket between the carb and reed block on wrong. It was covering the hole that feeds the fuel pump on the carb. After lining up and reinstalling it worked like a champ and I even took it out that afternoon.

    Great video! I’ve just done mine. But now the fuel bulb does not go hard. And it squirts through the hole on the primer thing on the left part of the carburettor. Does it do the same to you?

    My same exact outboard bog’s down when i try to go full throttle its like hesitant. It will go full speed for 2 seconds and slow down and go again and slowdown… i gotta keep the bulb primed to go fast….. what wud you suggest checking.

      With some experience with a couple of 2 stroke outboards, fuel problems always seem to revolve around the carb. I would start by dissembling it and cleaning it very good. Make sure to use the spray carb cleaner.

      @@fishnfix2432 hi i found the problem its the top part @3:50 ,,,, when it hesitates/bogs down, it leaks gas from the top part gas line side,,, sooo idk if the placement of the top plate matters. I watched urs carefully my gasket sits correctly but the plate that says “top” faces the opposite direction compared to yours

    • @fishnfix2432
