Shenmue has always been a alternative realty for me when I was a kid, my second life. Haha, the combat is good...but I sure miss the Judo throws...especially the dark side hazuki style or the demon drop.
Never slept for 2 days and gotta say it is one hell of a game, congrats Yu on making it, the visuals and story are amazing, if you like Yakuza type games I highly recommend this, only if you are unsure about buying this game. Completed and now I want Shenmue 4.

CANT WAIT TO GET MY PS4 ON BLACK FRIDAY TO FIND OUT. I ALREADY HAVE THE GAME AND SO DOES MY BROTHER BUT HE HAS A PS4 ALREADY I WISH IT CAME OUT ON XBOX ONE BUT I HAVE BEEN WANTING A PS4 FOR A WHILE NOW SO IT'S COOL!!!
Love Shenmue! Side note... Adam Koralik is a fantastic game historian on UA-cam. If you have a day of chores ahead or a long drive. Listening to his console generation recaps or year-in-gaming is so relaxing and informative. I listen to his podcast style videos for hours on end. I really hope they release this game on PC. I don't want to buy a PS4 just for 1 game. I was so sad Shenmue Online was cancelled and Shenmue 3 had to go to kickstarter just to get funding. Shenmue 1 had the best graphics of its time. Shenmue series has the best story of any video game ever. Shenmue is one of the best video game series of all time. How come every big game company is not funding this? Tencent games should buy up Sega and continue making endless Shenmue sequels. I want Shenmue 3 on PC, Xbox one, Switch, and VR. Thank you Sega and thank YU Suzuki!

Even if we never get shenmue 4 im really happy we got to see these characters and settings one last time. It was worth the 300$ i donated. I feel closure even if there is never a closure to the story. Keeping fingers crossed though and got another 300$ reserved for Shenmue 4 that i won on a lucky hit stand ;)
I assume you live in the east since you mentioned westerners and as a westerner myself I can say I completely agree and do not pronouncate it that way, I've always pronounced it as it was spelled, same with it's racing contemporary Virtua Racing, so it annoys me when people say it that way as well since it should be obvious that since there is no l at the end of the title it's pronounced Virtua not Virtual, seriously this isn't rocket science folks.
I haven't heard anyone call it "Virtual", but the word is so weird without the L that some people probably just assume it's there without even noticing the difference.
If you want to see the continuation of the story of Ryo Hazuki and play Shenmue 4, please support the game and buy a licensed copy in the Ps Store, or Epic Games Store.
