My mother bought me the original for christmas all those years ago when it launched in 99 and this game meant so much. It was a fundamental basis of my childhood this game. A lot of my kind nature I picked up from this game and who knew 2 decades later I'd get to see this continue let alone on my birthday November 19th. What's even stranger is that the original game was set in 1986 which is also the year I was born!
Feels like 1999 again back when i was a kid, it sure bring back memories When I got Sega Dreamcast for Christmas.😌

As someone who never grew up with or played the games back then, I tried the remaster that came out a while back, and I didn't really like the games. They are a bit too slow paced and outdated for my taste. Maybe I will try them at some other point, but for now they did not get me hooked.
Yakuza 0 however is a truly amazing game that I can only recommend you give a try if interested.
So glad they brought back the original voice of Ryo Hazuki. :)

Actually he was replaced by Keifer Sutherland and only says one line every 8 hours.

I want to said thank you very much to Yu Suzuki and all of his team for their hard work to regenerate the Shenmue III game also to all of you backers who help Yu Suzuki to continue this shenmue game series, without you all maybe one of the best games I have ever played will never exist...
For those trashing the game, keep in mind that this was kick starter funded. Yeah, some of the graphics and game mechanics could've been better, but keep in mind that this game was created with limited resources. Not saying that people should be forced to like or buy the game but confused by some being overly negative
Yeah but they blew the budget and the games budget is bigger than some games. For what it is though honestly doesn't look bad.
What I mean is they blew their goals budget by a lot so they had the funding for better tweaks.

@@angelflores6978 Of course it has a bigger budget than SOME games. Some much simpler games. But how many open world games have a smaller budget? I can't think of one.
@@angelflores6978 People dont realize what size the shenmue games are. they are semi open world games with hundreds and hundreds of NPCs in it. I always like to rather compare it to games like Life is strange. LIS1 has a very similar budget to shenmue 3 and it doesnt look like a tripple A title either. And the Shenmue 3 world is way more complex than LIS.
Mabye thats why they trashing it?

@@timlarkin4471 No, it's the same Corey Marshal. In the demo he even says "I see..." it's unreal. The Japanese got their original actor. Both women playing Shenhua retired though. There was no chance.

I played Shenmue 1 and 2 last year in December on my PS4. For me the journey took one year. Must have been painful for you guys who played it back in the days, that's a long time. I am 26 but never realized that a game like this existed. And I am a martial artist. Just a dream game for me.

@@Chato829 people that wanted Steam keys get the option for a refund and the option to get EGS keys. Or they can wait 1yr for Steam keys.
To all these idiots complaining about terrible graphics and textures, you should've donated to kickstarter. It's hard to make a game look very nice with a small budget and publisher. There were NO big time companies making this OR paying for it. They made due and for that I'm grateful. Can't wait to get my kickstarter backer version!!

Ken Vainiomäki that’s a bit questionable. It was never disclosed how much money Sony and Deep Silver gave to the game. So the budget could be more than you think.

@@molehansman247 the gameplay isn't the compelling part of this game. It's the story, atmosphere, and soundtrack. Witch as you can tell from the trailer are all perfect. The story (like all stories) is ment to be experienced, but to longtime fans the fact that there is even going to be an ending makes it perfect. Many of us allready know what's waiting down the rabbit hole, we know how the story will end becuase we have been following it. No, we were not looking for spoilers. We never thought this ending would come, so we dug it up. Yet even though we allready know how it will end we are still going to play it becuase being there is what matter's.

@@molehansman247 Many played the demo. I played it. That tiny demo has literally more content than many full AAA games. I'm not joking. The fighting system alone with only a few moves to try in the demo beats so many RPGs it's crazy.

Man I had the biggest smile seeing Ryo finally confront Lan Di face to face. Sadly I think it'll be an unwinnable battle, and Lan Di won't be defeated in this game
That's probably right. Although I think Lan Di's story arc might end and the story will continue going into a different arc for the next game.

I played the game a little back then but never fully played it until December of 2019 so my wait wasn't too bad. I'm already on Shenmue 3 in Niaowu and I'm loving it

The music, the revenge plot, the interactiveness with the world, the cheesy dialogue...I could go on and on but Shenmue was so ahead of its time. This is going to be something special!

Sadly I never heard of this game nor never played and never saw a play through,it was mostly a mystery to me until I heard about it in maybe like 2014 and onward
They've made very poor choices with their own hardware, and later after going bankrupt with who to sell exclusive rights to.

I waited 18 years for this. Now that I'm older, smarter, and more mature I can truly appreciate this artwork. I spent $2,000 on my new computer just for this game. I'm so ready to enjoy it.

Amaizing masterpiece can't wait to play it .
Well sadly I never got to play shenmue as a kid (early 2000s kid) and I could go back and play the older ones and catch up but I feel that it would be a bit out dated for me to fully enjoy them for what they were at the time of realise. But I'm super greatful for what shenmue did and will hopefully continue do for the gaming world (yakuza anyone?) And super happy that this game is a thing, dreams can come true.

the only thing kinda outdated are the graphics for shenmue 1 and 2 but gameplay its great and the story is awesome btw if you ever want to play them get the remastered versions of the games they have a better control sceme so its not like the dc version and more modern atleast at what they had

Sega doesn't have the portfolio for a game console anymore. They had so many inhouse development teams in their prime, and people wouldn't accept arcade ports today. 18 Wheeler was a blast...

Never thought I see this trailer on this day for Shenmue 3. It's been a long time coming. I been waiting since 2003.
Why? We've known the game was coming for 2 years now.
Played the second one with my little bro when we were little kids, and we had waited so long for this one. He would have been hyped to finally see it happening.
Remember when this was just about a boy trying to avenge his father?
Now, it's a mission to uncover something.. larger.
This music is so beautiful. Such a nice trailer too, so close to bringing me to tears ngl.
This is gonna be epic,can't wait to get back in the world of Shenmue.

Seeing Ryo confront Lan Di, mixed with that music and seeing the title Shenmue III slowly appear on my screen was more emotional for me than I expected. Used to come home every day from school and run straight to my dreamcast to get lost in Shenmues world. I cant believe 18 years later it looks like a real Shenmue sequel. Not a trend chaser or a cash grab but a true sequel that we always wanted.
People on the outside may not see the appeal but this is by far the most important game release of this decade for me.
One more week and we have is young legend live!!.🕹️
