Thanks Doug, very informative. My work sharp arrives tomorrow and Iv'e already watched several of your videos which pertain to the knives/tools which I intend to sharpen. My Dad always told me, "Don't jump into anything blind and stupid". Thanks to you I won't have to.
These are the most effective sharpeners available , I personally own three, and have bought several for gifts, the gentleman demoing has been a great friend for almost forty years and I would vouch for his honesty, without hesitation ,so feel safe buying his sharpeners, you won’t regret it.
I have a wskts that sounds like a bearing is wearing out. Can you send me a part breakdown or service manual so I can disassemble it and order the needed parts.
I have a KO Work Sharp and the right angle guard appears to be at a slightly different angle than the left guard. Is this normal? Is it possible for the guards to get out of alignment? The unit has never been dropped or damaged.
Have had a Work Sharp for few years, not bad system does get knives sharp indeed. Now that it has been some time am looking into a 1 x 30 belt sander, to do exactly the same thing. Price difference...not much honestly. better range of belts more surface area. May have to go free hand but price comparison is a good view and much more in way of motor to do things.
Help! Just purchased Im ruining my kitchen knifes The guide we rest the knife on Cannot be held flush on the whole guide ..... I'm getting a dip at the beginning and thru out causing my blade not to touch in certain areas. Never mind I'm selling it
Most of my knives come with a smaller angle to one side. This is the only company I know that shows it, but it is quite common - look at the pic in the product description smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XV3H7XL/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Love the sharpener but man it has really rounded off every tip I have and has like put a belly in knives towards handle. No matter how much I read the manual still is doing it.
Too many dont get it lol. Read comments on any of these videos. People rounding tips and damaging the lower edge of the blade. Technique and reading the directions would eliminate this
THESE ARE JUNK! I've use mine twice in the 4 years I've owned it to sharpen 12 kitchen knives kept in the box. i tried to use it yesterday and the motor binds with the belt on and the motor smokes. put a new belt on and it still binds. looks like the belt is too tight but i never messed with anything. JUNK!
Exactly! A friend had one that he brought me to repair. He bought it new and used it a couple times. We’ll long story short Worksharp wants $60 for a new one cause it’s out of warranty, it’s brand new! As far as I can tell they used a sub standard elec motor (Exmek P/N PP0004319) it seems to have a faulty voltage dropping resistor that cause the full wave bridge rectifier burn up. 3:24 THE THING IS BRAND NEW!!!! And $60 for a new one FUCK THAT!!
It's a O.K. unit for quick and dirty sharpening on cheap knives but when I want to put an edge on a nice knife I go to the stones. It's slow but I don't have to worry about damage to the blade.
Used mine 10-15 times, just stopped working. I think the motor blew out, I heard a POP and that was the end. I've written the company asking for help, we'll see what happends. Very disappointed.

Well, I regret it. This overpriced piece of crapt doesn't even sharpen my knives, and I did everything right!
Thanks so much for this video I have been getting my knife sharp but blunting the tips. Can't wait to test it with this new knowledge!
Tactical Training Group Yeah man this thing wrecks tips.
Wow! Nice. Just got the Ken Onion. I would need lots of practice and how to use.

You are amazing sir. Right to the point.

Great video Doug!
Great advice a lot of help
Hi. Doug, I'm only getting the burr on one side (the left side) of my Kershaw knife
Thanks Doug. This is a very useful video.

What grit is recommended to put the convex edge on? With the finer grit used for stropping also convex the edge?
Help! Just purchased
Im ruining my kitchen knifes
The guide we rest the knife on

I'm getting a dip at the beginning and thru out causing my blade not to touch in certain areas.

I love this machine (original). I am getting a larger bevel on the left side of the blade than the right (top view). is this normal?
just got mine and seems to be doing same thing especially on my old hickory

Could you do a video on avoiding and fixing rounded tips?
I followed everything you and the book says and still get a rounded tip!
How would I sharpen poultry shears on work sharp ken onion
Love the sharpener but man it has really rounded off every tip I have and has like put a belly in knives towards handle. No matter how much I read the manual still is doing it.
Turn the sharpener off when your blades tip is on the belt and do not remove it until the belt stops.
What happens when a brand new out of the box KO edition doesn't work anymore after using only for 10mins? Thanks
same happens me
I got lemon knive sharpener
Using ten minutes isn’t brand new out of the box? But I’ll tell what happens it doesn’t work anymore. Call the company CS they will help you out.
You are a hero.

We get it. Read the guide. We get it.

I guess the full auto on the motor is on there only for when you want to sharpen a axe or lawn mower blade?

This machine works for me, stones ruin the knive.
Ana R. You are not using the stones properly then I use them just fine to pass a razor
Both ways of sharpening will slice paper like butter and this take 1/100 of the time you’d spend on a stone. Way easier
This unit will sharpen a knife just as sharp as the stones will. It’s just faster and easier if you know what your doing.

I wouldn’t buy one ! Overpriced underpowered crap. They don’t stand by their products!
You took to long to get to the point
Hahaha
You need to talk faster.
Set the video playback speed tto 1.25 or 1.5x and you can accomplish this.
You need to stfu.
