this is the perfect way to do it. Very loud bass drums depicts the loud thunder while the angel blows the trumpet. In Verdi's score, he instructs the bass drum to do 'fffff'.
I remember the first time I heard this as well. When I heard the trumpets music coming from the right rear and the left rear of me, it was the most amazing thing ever! I was just blown away!
I was a part of the choir during a recent full-scale performance of Verdi's Requiem, and I remember the first time we rehearsed with the full orchestra I was sitting there, jaw glued firmly to the floor during the brass feature
Este genial director es tambien un excelente pianista y en el Royal Festival Hall de Londres presento su propio piano, especial, unico, y que lleva su nombre (piano BORENBOIN), se mueve a traves del mundo como un ser unico e irrepetible.
Absolutely magnificent! Requiem! However, I have a request: Would someone please tell me what Opera House this was performed? It looks like a movie set.
This is not opera, Its a requiem. A Requiem Is a sort of catholic funeral mass played as a act of respect to the dead. So yes technically this religion, even though Verdi was a agnostic (which makes him kinda netural) he could still be seen as a cultural catholic.

means supermega forte? haha

honestly, the best part of the requiem besides dies irae
Absolutely!
And this is a terrific recording, too. The chorus often gets lost in the din, but this is fairly balanced while still being exciting. So good
Sanctus is pretty good as well I think
Confutatis is also pretty fire.
Also Lacrymosa
The intensity in this conductor is perfect.
TheMonitor He is Daniel Barenboim if you didn't know, fantastic Pianist as well.
Fuck it's the BARENBOIM 1:57 @@colinmurphy2214
I remember first time I witnessed this live I nearly sh*t myself. Awesome.
as cool as it is to hear it’s a pain in the butt to play

lucky bastard

So often this part gets overshadowed by the Dies Irae, but it easily matches in terms of pure, unfiltered hellfire.
My all time favorite of Verdi's Requiem. Such epiphany!
Hard to believe the concert goes on after this part.
Played the offstage trumpet parts for this many times. For 4 trumpet players, the concert ends here.
The most spectacular part of Verdi's Requiem !!!! !
The strongest movement of a clasical piece forever
Berlioz's Tuba Mirum is pretty fantastic tbf
It has no business going that hard... Effin' amazing
sure hope when the time comes, that it's as good as this ..... !!
Indeed! I will be disappointed if those angels aren't playing Verdi...
Such magnificent brass moments can also be found in Bruckner's symphonies, particularly the third.
every time i watch this i get chills. they did the song perfectly!
Que música arrepiante!!! Divino
playing this in my marching band show. so cool 👍
how could you not conduct this masterpiece like him
I have listened to it in thousands renditions by thousands orchestras and this is, by far, the best.
It gets me every time,...
Fantastic Verdi

My college choir did this whole amazing song with band
Having done this song in may. Best song I have ever done in the 12 years of choir
how could this only have 6 hundred likes?????
Conducted by Anthony Hopkins.
I pressed Ctrl+f to find it in the comments :D
huahauhauahauahauahuahauaha
this is so powerful it could make an atheist believe in god
Bella sinfonia
When I hears this, I think of a grandature opening of a war.
_2000:1: A Space Felony_ brought me here.
Absolutely magnificent! Requiem! However, I have a request: Would someone please tell me what Opera House this was performed? It looks like a movie set.
the Scala in Milan
Could have mistaken this for the Hoenn soundtrack with all the fucking trumpets
Che bellissimo!!!!!!!!!!!
Wooooow!!! Hermosoooooo!!!
Oh my god.
imagine if in one of the dramatic pauses they have el jarabe tapatio begins to play from the background from the trumpets
tuba mirum salmes ella illa sacra selo iscla
tuba mirum silmar et tuba
These works of art were composed and performed before recording was possible. Makes me wonder how the original composer tended the work to sound.
And we’ve come so far, and we’ve reached so high, and we’ve looked each day and night in the eye.......... sorry wrong song.
Didn't Take That steal a bit of this for one of their songs, 'Never Forget' maybe?
A true Verdianian perfomance, I'm sure Verdi would be happy listening to it. This is opera, not religion. Remember Verdi was agnostic his whole life.

Cringe monkey time
When Ordenstaat Burgundy, Greater Germanic Reich, Empire of Japan and The US launched their nukes at each other.
That Day when the Trumpet sounds...
мощно
Do yourself a favor and listen to Abbado's with Berlin.

Jadi ceritanya biar lebih real...
I think this is the first time this has ever been said, but I think you might need more women in that choir for balance. 😱
0:47 Hilf uns!!!!!!! Zu laut!!!!
Troppo veloce
Well , This is definitely not the best version of Verdi’s requiem. I’m sorry but is the truth . Celibidache is my choice and maestro Mutti
good; no absolutely-shamefully-unncessary score -- re: dirigent
The conductor knows it backwards - he has no score...
Fake Verdi. Original is Gary Barlow.
That is not the tuba mirum guys
Yep it is
