Nice roller that mate. I’ve just bought 3 9inch Hamilton perfection rollers medium pile as I was chuffed with their mini 4 inch version I used recently in my own kitchen extension when decorating. Have a few purest roller sleeves which are good but more pricey... I guess each painter has his preference but I’m still testing the water with a few different types to find what suits me best. Obviously different paint and finishes may come out different when using the same roller but that’s part of the learning process I guess. 👍
Hi great video. I bought this roller after watching your video. I washed it first and walls came out great. For first time painting. But the roller didn't clean up great for me. But it may have been the paint I was using dulux easycare colour grey. The roller only cost me £2.25 so I can throw it away now. But thanks to your video's my painting should get better. Thanks
I bought the 9" and 12", the finish is nice but the amount of paint that's left on the rollers makes them a nightmare to clean. I'll stick with Purdy White Dove.
Good video that explains alot of important aspects of various roller sleeves... The Prodec brand is really stepping up a gear and these ice fusion sleeves certainly have a place in the trade.... But I personally rarely use these smooth/short pile types of sleeves on wall's and ceiling's as they don't hold as much paint. Using a medium pile Hamilton is the perfect balance on smooth surfaces and slight textured surfaces alike but I never use a 9 inch these day's... Always a 12 or 15 inch mostly 👍
ANOTHER GREAT video chaps. Little bits of key information and tips for enthusiastic learners such as myself. Have you continued to use these rollers or have you switched to something else? hope you are keeping well! : ) Just reading through the comments on this page it seems that the Hamilton Perfection medium pile are pretty popular - would you say that is about the best for walls in good condition? cheers!
Been using this roller for a yr with johnstone's recommendation .. happy with finish , especially with the tough scrubbale emulsions... bit of a sod to clean.. if done thoroughly seems to last ok though.
Hi mate, what would you say are your favourite rollers these days? Looking to paint a lightly textured superfresco paper at some point (Greek Key), and looking at a scrubbable matt. Keep hearing Hamilton perfections are the best balance of pile and finish for this kind of job - sound about right?
Might try them rollers! Nice finish! Just noticed is this the same job as the armstead water based satin video you just uploaded... looks like the same wall and door scenario lol? Maybe wrong?
sorry for the late reply yes have found this with a lot of modern sleeves. Sheepskin but can not find good ones anymore they fall apart. Decorators are getting ripped off everything made cheap and does not last 5 mins.
I use long pile for everything, especially mistcoat, you clearly never worked on a site it takes forever mist coating with anything less than a 12 inch long pile
Your videos are brill. Thank you for all your great work, true master of your trade.
Thanks.

Can’t believe that thumbprint stayed in it! It looked a nice finish though, thanks for sharing 👍

Thanks, I prefer light gear it may take me a little longer but less strain on my arms.
On the end of an extension pole a 9" roller does seem rather small.

Yes good roller and yes same house.. rented house.
Painting and Decorating well that shows I take note haha 😂👍
@@MarcGray1990 Yes gold star..
good man.
Thanks..
Brushes are great... But the sleeves I found not so good, to much pressure needed, didn't release the paint very well..

Sadly on new build and other large jobs your right.. but to get the best finish you need to use a medium pile..
Long pile on new plaster can leave bit orange peel effect.
Hamilton perfection medium green rollers pretty good low splatter too.
Who makes 12 inch pile rollers?
@@Enpassantful purdy,rota, albany
Forget the ice fusion for emulsion, waste of time!! Stick a 4inch one straight in gloss and thank me later 👍🏻
To be honest I don't rate anything prodec make they are not good quality products imo
Not used much... thanks for info
I agree , cheap 💩 just like their logo..... shit for the job!!! 😂
