- Well, well, well, it looks like we've got a couple of 2 fussy blokes rollers on the market!
With so many mini rollers out there, it can be hard to choose the perfect one for your painting needs.
But fear not, my fellow paint enthusiasts! I'm here to guide you through the roller-rific world and help you decide between these two picky rollers.
When it comes to painting doors and frames with water-based CIN AC Thane & CIN Aqua Primer, I've put both of these rollers to the test.
So let me spill the paint on which one I used and how it performed.
Now, let's get to the real question: which 2 fussy blokes roller do you prefer?
Are you a die-hard fan of one over the other?

I got some 10mm fussy blokes . Used them on isomat eggshell and aqua quard. An excellent sleeve great recommendation
I love 'em. No more laying off.

Best roller heads I’ve ever used and I’ve been sent loads from different companies to review on my linkdn account like Axus, coral, etc I really wanna try one in oil tho to see the finish
Spot on, Phil. The 5mm nap rollers are great for a couple of day's usage but do go flat. I like your sponge liner idea. But overall, superb quality bit of kit 👌

I just found out today that the Purdy white dove has a 10mm nap which has been out for along time, way before 2 fussy blokes came out. It would be good to do a comparison as they come in different sizes as the manager in my local Paintwell used the 12inch roller and says the finish was like it had been sprayed. Ideal if your going paint a wood panelled feature wall and would be quicker than using the 4 inch sleeve
Going to buy some of the 10mil ones got some mdf cupboards to paint so will try these on them
Great. 5mm does a nice final coat too
I like these rollers apart from 2 things.
They don’t last long in oil or shellac and you think they hold loads of paint but all they’re doing is spreading it really thinly ie not enough microns of paint on the surface
correct, but these are geared for waterbased paints.
Hi Phil frm down under yr correct in wht you say about the 5 mil nap is ok for something small I mainly use the 10 mil for most things if you like them so much you should get yr Hands on the bigger ones for walls / ceiling keep up the great wrk brother of the brush😎👍

Alright Phil love the videos mate 👍 sorry it’s unrelated to the video (love twofussyblokes) can you recommend me a good brush to do woodwork (skirting/doorframes) in little Greene oil based eggshell. Never used their paints before. Cheers mate
LG do lovely watered based eggshell (intelligent eggshell & emulsion are the ones to go for).
why are you using oil based?
as for brushes, if they are short term use... Wickes own brand pack of three £11, or those Hamilton I tried out a few videos back (in the product testing play list) would be fine... cheap enough to throw away after use.
Or if you want a better quility brush, keep with Arroworthy, albeit a bit good to through away.
If keeping long term, a pure bristle brush like a Hamilton Perfection, but they'll take abit of using to get them bedded in to how you want them.
should have undercoated and glossed phil 2 coats. still on metal kettle and scuttles all these fancy kettles/scuttles
It'd still be drying now with the door having to be slightly left open lol

Hi, need advice what i’ve done wrong, satinwood on brand new primed doors. If use wool roller got lint on paint if use foam roller got flashing paint even with paint additive to increase wet line for longer.
Waterbase or oil?

Seen them rollers around online but never tried them. Would you recommend using them with oil based undercoat/satinwood.etc or just waterbased?
I've been decorating 20 years and I love the vids and always learning a lot from you. Keep it up.
They're fine with oil based paints but you'll need to chuck them at the end of the day. Great for Zinsser BIN.
They are geared for waterbased... I hear there are ones for oil in the pipe line.

Hello great video, I never heard you mention Purdy brushes befor, don’t you get on with them or you find the arrow worthy better ?
Not used them for a while, they were expensive as we had the ProExtra Purdy.. blue bristle... Compared to the Monarch that everywhere was selling.
Found the Wickes own brand at £11 a pack of three just as nice.
But Arroworthy are spot on, slash cut for cutting in skirting top edges and door frames are a game changer. The bristle is just right. Not corse and not floppy. Just right.

Alright Phil, got a oak staircase to quote for the customer wants it painting black its the whole lot handrails, spindles, treds, risers, strings everything it's currently just got clear varnish on what kind of price do you think I should be charging?
Clean down, sand, primer, fill gaps, undercoat, then two top coats... Nibbing down between coats
How.many days will you be on it?

Is the Cin paint only available in Potugal Phil?
as far as I know, but they do have places in Spain and France.
Great content Phil I’m new to DIY painting and really enjoying your videos. I’ve been using Dulux oil based undercoat and satinwood for durability but recently tried Johnstones Aqua Guard WB satin and it was very good. Nice to apply, no brush marks at all once dry but I did get a few runs. Any advice to avoid them as I see in your videos you do recommend getting a good amount on quickly? I used a 2in ProDec cutting in brush. And if I may ask one more question that has been intriguing me - apparently water based is better for the environment not just in terms of VOCs, white spirit etc. but also because it needs doing less often as it doesn’t yellow. In 5 years our oil based satin has barely yellowed but is as good as new as it wipes clean and doesn’t chip. So yellowing, smell and drying times aside, is water based REALLY going to last longer. I just want a good finish that won’t need re-doing often and experience so far on paint already in the house (not the Aqua Guard as only been a week) is the WB satin gets dirty and sticky from hand prints. Thanks in advance if you have chance to reply and I look forward to seeing you spray paint a Porsche one day 😂

wb and sticky... that can come down to the paint/brand of water based paint you use, it's known some will do that. off top of my head I can't pick any out.. but only just today speaking to rep who said just as you said... he mentioned a brand.. and we both agreed. (I cant say what paint!).
better WB paints wil be harder weraing... try Isomat, Bedec and Tikkurila.
Applying paint.. yep.. quickly, but it may come with time and experience of the paint to know how to get it on, also look at the brushes!! ;)
Thanks for the reply I think it’s F&B estate eggshell that’s a mess! When you mention those other brands would you use those over Aqua Guard? I’d like to find the ‘right’ paint then use it across the whole house. The paint shop tried to convince me to try 1L of tikkurila satin as it was a tenner cheaper than the aqua guard but your video convinced me to give it a go. I might try a few more to see how I get on, not a cheap hobby but probably better that watching (oily) paint dry! Enjoy your stay in Portugal it looks fantastic 👍🏻

Farrow and Ball modern eggshell is the hardest wearing paint.
Any of tye above would be fine to try.
Clean down, sand etc
Also use the correct undercoat.
Aqua Guard also has an Uc to use... Which I suggest you get also. It then gives a sound base to work on with two coats of the Aqua Guard

@@Liverpool1ne oil base won't yellow so much if it's got plenty of natural light onto it, it yellows when it doesn't get the light to it. You'll see a difference behind a wardrobe, or where a dressing gown used to hang on tye back of a bathroom door.
Hybrid waterbased paints will also yellow slightly due to the way they make the paint... With a slight amount of some oil in it.

Hello Phil got 8 internals doors to already pre finish would you use Isomat eggshell or trade diamond dulux eggshell for doors and trim ?
