Confession : I actually sometimes listen to your videos to fall asleep. When I feel anxious I need to listen to something other than my own gibberish thoughts. I don't like ASMR so instead I listen to people who have a low peaceful voices while they talk about philosophy and other topics and weirdly it helps aha

I'll sometimes listen to some children's audiobooks like the three detectives (I'm 30 btw), it's just interesting enough to not bore me and keep my brain from thinking about other stuff, but at the same time simple enough to calm me down so I can sleep. And I never once in my life fell asleep watching a movie f.e. because my brain us always too invested, but I do fall asleep often while listening to kids stuff ;)
Edit: It's called three investigators 😅

in my case, sometimes audiobooks work. It's like, I can't stop my brain from thinking but I can give it something to distract with. It has to be, boring enough to make me fall asleep at some point and not get too hooked on the story, but interesting enough to keep me listening instead of thinking on another thing

I actually fall asleep the fastest when I start imagining other worlds or scenarios I want to be in when I'm laying in bed with my eyes closed. Usually about halfway through imagining the story, I'm asleep.

me too. I think the mind just fades into those scenarios and I fall asleep fast for real.

I fully agree with your list of ideas. Funnily I figured out this before and have been doing this for years. I need my 1 hour down time before bed 100%, I have tons of to do list, I never like to talk 2 hours before bed and yes the timing of bed time is so critical. I also love my diffuser a bit of lemon oil relaxes me before bed and sometimes white noise is also helpful to force my mind to sleep. Thanks for your vidoes!

Thank you so much for taking time out to share your many experiences and teach us important new life skills when dealing with the importance of sleep! 💤
We love your helpful comments and genuine insights.
It's calming to know that someone can relate to my day-to-day struggles and my ever-evolving routines of living with an active brain.
It is often just so difficult to slow down the constant flow of random ideas or "urgent" thoughts. Or even stop reflecting on daily successes some evenings.
You give us consice, personal and honest answers to our shared plight, lol.
Through hard-earned knowledge and honed awareness of yourself and others, all while giving well thought out advise.
    Thank you sir🔥

Actually I usually get to sleep immediately, but then awake in about 1-2 hours. get up and pee, return to bed, and then, the over-thinking begins and even goes into a virtual experience where my body seems to be asleep, but my thoughts seem conscious. I have gotten answers in this phase. As a hypnotherapist, I have gotten metaphoric pathways for the trance work with clients. Its quite amazing, but also a nuisance.

I started the "go to sleep when you're tired and wake up at the same time" a few years ago. That works the best for me. I also have what I call my window - it's about 20 minutes when I'm so sleepy I can't stand it. That's when I lie down and read for a bit, then I can fall asleep faster. If I miss the window it will generally be an hour or so before I can fall asleep.

I found something that helps me sometimes: When you're trying to go to sleep, breathe more deeply. Don't exaggerate it, though. Keep your breathing comfortably deep.

The 30 minutes of a movie thing is interesting. I could never do it, though. I love movies way too much to cut them up into short bits for every night.

There's a concept called, "sleep hygiene". No screentime at least 1/2 hour before bed is ideal.

Hey Clay, I believe you've already done a video on it, but could you do a video on the differences between INFJ and INFP? I get one of those two every time I take a personality test, so I really don't know how to tell which one I really am.
