Respecting CSR when we are Tier 1, is clear requirement. What about, when we are Tier 2 or Tier 3 supplier, and VW is final customer, but Tier 1 (which is our immediate customer) never explicitly requires to respect CSR of final customer (in this case VW)? Do we need to implement and respect CSR of final customer by ourselves? Because, Tier 1 sign contract with VW and this means they need to respect Formel Q requirements, but Tier 2 sign contract with Tier 1 and there is only CSR of Tier 1 requirements, and not of VW or OEM in general?
In such cases Tier 2 supplier needs to follow Tier 1 requirements as his customer. However, let's bare on mind that Tier 1 is obligated to cascade OEM requirements down to the supply chain which is the requirement in IATF 16949 and in Formel Q in case of VW.
