@@Nicksdrumlessons Thanks for the advice. Your kit is beautiful. Like I said, mine is pretty much identical (I roughly gaged from the serial number it is from 1978/79). I’ve had mine 20 years now and gigged with it a bit so I’m not surprised it has a ding or two. I would love to try and get them near pristine though. Thanks again.
I recently scored on of these but they have top and bottom dampeners which I think is odd (on the 12 and 13) Appear original to the kit though. I think mine are from 76 as well
Nice!! Too bad vintage drums generally don,t appreciate in value like guitars! Lot,s grandpa,s Ludwig and Slingerland drums still out there!! Good place to find them is big city newspaper want ads! Ohhh, to remove tape and glue residue Zippo lighter fluid works great!! It ,s also safe to clean painted surfaces. Not to remove paint!!! Just clean grime off!
I literally got this 24” stainless Ludwig steel kick drum and needed to see about restoration Thank you so muxh
It's better to be lucky than it is to be smart! Cheers & enjoy those great drums my friend! ♪♫♪
To find a kit like that for cheap in a pawn shop is a dream. Congrats
HEY NICK IT ME LOGAN I LIKE YOU VIDEO IS A COOL😎.
Thanks Logan!
Nice! I knew what those were as soon as as they came on the computer monitor during lessons the other day.
New heads!! I,d have put on pin stripes!! I always hated dots!!!
Came out beautifully. They'd probably sound better concerted out, though. Love metal snares, not so sure about toms--at least not with the reso's on.
Nice find and great job!!
I want those! 😁
So beautiful!!
Those sound fantastic!
Thank you! Turns out, I will sell them. Even though I love them...I have too many!
Should have went with coated emperors, less tinny and ringy and less expensive than black dots.
I have an almost identical Ludwig Stainless Steel kit from 1979. It has a couple of dings/small divots..any suggestions for smoothing these out?
Small Rubber mallet might do the trick for dings. Scratches can be sanded out but you will spend forever buffing it out.
