    It's a watch that is designed to appeal to a certain segment. I'm no Bonds fan but I like the vintage look and the movement is already superb. If you are picky about fake patine and the Bonds association, then it's not for you. The association is subtle and it doesn't bother me. I bought this watch for its technology and design. Rare case in which a movie tie in can be overlooked. You don't have to be a fan to like this watch. I really enjoy it.

      Nearly a perfect watch for me--but was really bummed to find-out it didn't have the jump-hour feature that I wanted.

      @@ewoo It certainly has its flaws but for me the pros outweighed the cons and the priority for me is to have a light watch with that particular look.

      I think I know what you mean. The reasons I like this watch are the reasons some other would never buy it. Aluminium bezel insert? Are you serious!? Where's my ceramic bezel!? Oh yes we're serious, it's for the consistent fading with the also aluminium dial. I like it that they trusted us (the buyer) to understand their design approach and don't mind aluminium.
      Some other wants wrist presence, both eye catching to onlookers, and heft feeling on the wearer's watch. I wanted neither of those so this one is reaally perfect with the understated design plus the precious material that you can't see but with a lighter weight that you can feel.

    My second Omega this year. Hated seamasters at the start of the year and bought a Moonwatch which I love. 6 months later and the Seamasters had grown on me and I wanted a special one and love Bond movies too. It’s now my favorite watch and have both the titanium bracelet and nato strap. Love that the Bond tie in is minimal. This is a quality watch and I love it. It’s my leisure watch and my Moonwatch my work watch.

  • @billynunns

    Love the patina look, love how it is not flashy like the other seamasters, love the lighter weight, so for me, the extra price is worth it as this is the watch I've been waiting for from Omega.
    Plus, I like how the dial is not shiny and has no design in it. Hopefully Omega pushes a similar design once they part ways with making these.

    This watch has really grown on me. When I first saw it I thought a bit of a pastiche, and with the James Bond branding...tacky money grab (wow that’s harsh! 😆) but every time I see it, I like it more and more. It’s now one of my favorite contemporary Omega divers. And it has a fully lumed bezel too! Still wish it didn’t have any James Bond branding though.

      The only 007 branding is on the caseback. You won't see it once it's on the wrist. Of course there is that 007 logo on the nato keeper which isn't really so visible, but if it's on the mesh, no 007 logos will be visible at all.

    Bought one on Valentines day, actually my wife bought it for me. Surprisingly we went to the AD and the minute I put it on my wife said she'd get it. I have Pams and ennebis and she never showed interest but this one she went nuts for. Funny thing. Oh and the omega AD gave us 1k off since we paid cash. Rolex always treated me like shit whenever I went to their store. Omega treated me very well.

    5:16 The numbers at the back: "0552” is for Royal Navy personnel; “923-7697” for dive watches; “A” for watches with a screw-down crown. “007”, well it’s quite obvious. Lastly “62”, a sly hint in reference to the year in which the first Bond film, “Dr No” was released.
    Those numbers will be the same across all the models of this watch.

    • @Mister_Phafanapolis
      @Mister_Phafanapolis 4 роки тому +2

      The reason you buy a luxury watch is because of the sparkly bling-factor. If you wanted an accurate watch you'd get a quartz. If you just wanted a well made one you can get that for less than a grand. You get a luxury watch only to show off. That's why the Seamaster is glossy on shiny on polished on beveled.

    It’s one of the ugliest and most overpriced watches ever made by Omega. Unpractical and not that comfortable to wear, not to adjust when it comes to that lousy and ridiculous “Milanese” bracelet. To make things worse, it’s almost impossible to read but in full sunlight. The “patina” effect sucks and it doesn’t positively add to the overall cheap and poor look of the watch. On the other hand, it’s a “collector’s” item, therefore if you’re into 007 stuff and memorabilia, it’s definitely a must-have.. and a “must-keep” in your watchbox, rather than actually using it!
