    Great video!!!!
    That original HD pre-set preload looked to be about 40mm? Typical HD shortcut, instead of a high quality spring with pre-set of 20mm HD installed a cheap spring and then compressed the hell out of it! This has been a longtime cheap remedy for soft inferior springs.
    The RWD pre-set looked to be about 20mm, which is an indication of a quality spring.

    WARNING: ERROR IN THIS VIDEO. I just installed a set of RS-1F of my 2016 Street Glide. This video was a huge help, HOWEVER at 15:52 there is a huge mistake made. You should NOT install the upper bushing and the fork seal in one step. The bushing should be installed first, then the seal separately. Installing the upper bushing and seal in one step as shown here puts unnecessarily destructive force on the seal. The correct procedure is to insert the upper tube into the lower, place the upper bushing in place where it will seat into the lower fork housing, then put the washer on top of the upper bushing with the bevel facing the upper bushing. 2) use the slide hammer to gently press the upper bushing into place.

    • @TheBBGlobalNetwork
      @TheBBGlobalNetwork Рік тому

      (Continued) Use short, light hits until you hear a "solid" sound. It will sound differently when seated fully. Also, be sure to have the lower housing on the ground or a very stable workbench. when doing this. Pull up the slide hammer and the washer and inspect the upper bushing to assure it looks correct and fully seated. 3) remove the slide hammer, slip the fork seal onto the upper tube assuring the numbers are up, facing you. Put the slide hammer back onto the tube and once again use short light hits until you hear a more solid sound. Check to see that the retention ring seat is clear, then install the retention ring. I hope this helps!
