Chance is the reason for Home Free doing this, he loves sea shanties, plus they're trending all across social media. Tim did what Tim does, holding down that incredible bassline and showing his humor with his pirate costume. Adam... castanets! Really? Yep! I'm more convinced than ever that the Freak of Nature is not entirely human!🤣 Great reaction as always! ❤
Word is Chance has had a thing for Sea Shanties...also it's recently become a "thing" on Tik Tok to lip sync to some sea shanties.....so the guys finally agreed to do it, and Chance was right !!! This a winner! This is one in a long list of ideas Chance has put forth the last couple of years....he may be sorta subtle & in the background but also seems to the one leading their creative effort a lot lately....my time to give Chance kudo's but also to ADAM on this too...he was once again STELLAR butin Santiana at the end....Castenet sounds COME ON ! Genius & so much fun....thanks for reacting to this Simone....no matter what these guys tough it turns to GOLD !
Remember, these sea shanties were sung by groups of sailors as they did very hard work - hauling on sheets to raise sails, getting the anchor unstuck, etc. Much as field hands did, they sang to keep time during a hard job, to keep up their spirits, and to entertain themselves on trips sometimes many months long. In that one called "Leave her, Johnny, leave her," they sang about a ship about to sink. "Shipped her green" meant that the green-looking sea had come over the bow, followed by more, and flooded her, so it was time to abandon ship. Going to sea was dangerous and many ships and crews simply disappeared.
Chance is the genius behind this one. He's a Mobile Alabama boy and a sailor at heart and when sea shanties went viral on TikTok he saw the opportunity for the guys to do something unique. He's been very excited about it, both before it came out and with it's success. All the guys did it so well!
I grew up in the "classical" world--classical music and ballet. We always called men wearing eyeliner "guyliner"!! And would LOVE to see Home Free do something classical--Mozart, Verdi, Offenbach, etc. They'd KILL it an open up the world of classical music to a whole new audience. Classical music is, really, pretty cool!

Sea shanties have been a thing for the past year on tictok and this was pretty much made to be included on tictok. People are singing with it already on tictok and it's pretty cool. Chance grew up near and on the sea and loves a good sea shanty.
I know nothing of sea shanty’s other than Chance saw them on Tik Tok and brought the idea to the boys and they did this. I only knew one song and I loved this! You should watch a few You tube Sea Shanty's. They have become very popular. Home Free....did an amazing job. I listened to the music video before watching them doing it in costume. You get a better appreciation of their voices that way.

Old days??? I was a crewman on one of those big sailing ships back in college and we sang so many of these while on deck... Drunken Sailor, we made up so many verses I can't count. Turns out there's a LOT you can do with a drunken sailor!

Okay I have to put in my two cents here. I love you and this channel. I've been binge watching your HF reactions again and I haven't commented because of how old some of them are but I have to on this one. Seriously nothing to say about Adam's drums and castanets? What other group have you heard do castanets. I watch a lot of channels of people reacting to HF and most of them go on and on about the others voices and the harmonies but they seem to forget Adam has a beautiful voice too. There are songs where he contributes much more than his beat boxing ability but they seem to forget he's even there half the time. Home Free would not be Home Free without Adam. Just saying.
